"The service was excellent.

The food, however, leaves a lot to be desired. I've had sushi there several years ago and it was very good. This time, the rice was dry and tough. Granted, it was 9:00pm but still, for such an upscale restaurant, they should not have served it if it was not good anymore."

"We shared sushi, teriyaki cauliflower and edamame before going to another event, thinking the portions would be small. Each dish was generous and delicious. Our excellent waiter also exchanged my pinot grigio for a chardonnay at no extra cost after seeing that I didn't really like it. Metro is pricey but well worth it."

"Overall pretty good. I ordered the 4 course tasting menu and it was good. Got a tuna ceviche app, buratta salad with scallop main. Boyfriend was lack luster on his choices. He had gotten the calamari which I thought were good and his main was a sushi sampler which wasn't great. Loved the feel of the restaurant though."

"OUR DINING EXPERIENCE WITH OUR GROUP OF 3 COUPLES RESERVATIONS FOR 8PM PROVED TO BE UNDERRATED FOR THE METRO'S REPUTATION OF PAST VISITS. LOVE THE DESIGN OF THE RESTAURANT AND THE BROAD MENU SELECTIONS OFFERING SMALL/LARGE PLATES. CONCERNED ABOUT WINE BY THE GLASS AND BY THE BOTTLE BEING SO LIMITED. WE ARE ALWAYS IMPRESSED BY THE SIGNATURE DRINKS THAT ARE AVAILABLE BUT PREFER A MORE AFFORDABLE CHOICE WHEN HAVING DINNER.
MY PERSPECTIVE WAS METRO WAS SHORT STAFFED TO SUPPORT NORMAL SATURDAY NIGHT DINING AND IT WAS OBVIOUS THERE WAS ADDITIONAL BUSINESS RELATED TO PROM NIGHT.OVERALL THE SERVICE WAS SPORADIC WITH APOLOGIES FOR DELAYS AND SHORTAGES OF WINE GLASSES. "The food is wonderful, but it is so dark that I could hardly see it. The place is also quite noisy, even though we made a point of getting there well before the club scene starts up. I appreciated that they clearly took note of our request to go easy on the salt. The service was also excellent. We will certainly go back as the food is really delicious."

"There were four in our party. Three of us had very good meals, but one got steak and it was very tough and had a lot of fat in it. They did take it off of his bill. The other complaint that I have is that they charged me for top shelf vodka when I did not order it. Once again, when I told them about it, they did change my bill. Do not sit downstairs. It is very cramped and you feel crowded. Make sure you ask to sit upstairs where you have more room."

"This was my first time dining at Metro!, and oh was it a phenomonal experience! I made reseervations for Valentine's day. When my girlfriend and I arrived a corner table with roses I had delivered was waiting for us. It was the perfect table with a great view of the restaurant. The server was very prompt and knowledgeable regarding the menu. I am a foodie, and enjoyed each delicious morsal of food. We had the Dim Sum for an appetizer which was music to our hungry mouths. For dinner I had the short rib (the name lies, it's HUGE!) and my girlfriend had the rack of lamb. Each dish left us craving more. We had a dessert sampler which topped off the meal in the most delightful manner."

"We visit this restaurant every time we are in Roanoke.

Situated on Campbell Avenue, there is convenient street parking as well as a public garage across the street.

The ambience is very pleasant. There is a nice bar with a movie screen overhead, where old movies are projected (without sound), and the dining area is well laid out.

Our server (Dexter) was attentive and knowledgeable.

We started with fried oyster appetizer, then the wife had beef rib entree while I had leg of lamb. Both were outstanding. Wife's vodka martini was properly mixed - cold and dry.
We'll keep coming here in the future."
