"The Argyle Street Grill has put Caledonia on the map, it is always such a positive experience whether we have been for dinner or lunch. A relative was here from England, we took him to the Argyle the first evening he was with us in Caledonia, he proclaimed it was the best dining experience he had had in Canada (he has visited 5 times), he treated my husband and I, on his last night, to dinner at the Argyle.
You have given us something to be proud of and brag about. Thanks"

"A group of five enjoyed a very pleasant evening on a lovely patio. The food was good - we just ordered appetizers although I know from previous experiences that the main dining menu is delicious. We had made the trip especially to see a live band, Rex Mundus, performing. There was a great vibe on the patio, and we hope to see them there again. All in all, it was a wonderful time."

"Our friend told us about this gem in Caledonia. She mentioned it was on "You gotta eat here" so we decided to make reservations (a must) and were not disappointed. My wife had the baseball steak and I had the Braised rib. Both were so good. Deserts were outstanding. Pecan pie and 4 flavour cheese cakes were to much to eat so we took them home what we could not finish and enjoyed them the next day. The service was efficient and friendly. Courtney was our server and took time to explain a little about the restaurant. I particularly liked that they offered half litre servings for many of the wines. It allowed us to enjoy the wine without worrying about overindulging when you buy a bottle. We will be back."

"This was our 2nd time dinning at The Argyle Street Grill. We enjoyed ourselves so much the first time that we decided to take a few more friends and try some of the other menu items. It was not disappointing. Everyone truly enjoyed there meals. From the R. Wicked Burger(which was critiqued as, "as good as Wolfgang Pucks") to the fish and chip, Ruben, pizza and Panini. Everything was exactly or better than we anticipated. We'll be back again."

"I don't think we will be back, we mad reservations for 7 we didn't get our table till 20 after 7, the reservations were made a week in advance. Then when we finally did get a seat we say down to order and it took nearly an hour to get our food, with out any explination and no offer for drinks the while time. The food was great but not worth the wait."

"We went with another couple we dine out with every friday night. We will be coming back to the argyle grill for sure. Great selection on the menu . Fantastic service by waitress Shannon . One of the owners came over to see how everything was. Priced very reasonable for the quaintly and serving size of meals. We were all very happy with our meals. The beef was to die for ,so tender. It's nice to find a wonderful place to eat , we will be returning."

"went to the 'grill' last week with 2 other couples. Had heard about the place from die hard Caledonians who cherish this place. we were not disappointed! worth the drive from hamilton. we had a lovely dinner. one of the owners kevin, i believe came to our table and was very personable. helped with serving and cleaning - great! we all said we would go back - and we will SOON! can't wait to try many of the menu items and also sit on the lovely patio."

"We watch several of the "eat at" shows on the Food Network and unless you travel a lot you'll probably never get to any of these place. Luckily The Argyle St. Grill is a short drive anyway. We've only been there once but after our dinning experience it was agreed by all that we will eat there again. They ofter a large menu that includes something for everyone. We were not disappointed at all. Good food, good service, good atmosphere. We'll be back."

"The food was tasty but, despite it not being overly busy, took us a solid hour to receive. This was disappointing. Our server, Kevin, was excellent. despite the low score, which was not meant for him.
The ambiance was weak as the temperature was very cold and due to our location drafty every time the door opened. We sat with coats on and shivering.
They advertised Sunday was 1/2 price kids meals, and there was no mention of exceptions, only to find that they were full price due to Mother's Day. Very disappointed. When I made the reservation, they called to confirm and ask to change the time. I asked then if it was still 1/2 price kids meals and they said it was. I didn't appreciate being lied to or overcharged. Very disappointed!"

"This is a local gem that is well worth the drive for those who live outside of town. The owners of the Argyle Street Grill have determined to ensure that they continuously improve. They have only owned the facility for a short while but have made a number of very positive changes in that time. The menu has evolved into one that is truly excellent. The patio has been transformed in appearance and use. The whole dining experience is completely enjoyabe and can be had for a reasonable price."

"Argyle's is a great place to go.
I saw it featured on "You gotta eat here" and was drooling.
I live in Pickering but decided to make the 1 1/2 trip anyway.
We were not disappointed.
The food is delicious and the service was great as well.
Everyone was really friendly.
Even the owner came over and thanked us for not only coming out but
also making such a long journey. He was genuinely appreciative of our business.
The only thing not that great was that it's located at one end of a little strip mall amongst 8 or 10
other stores, so there isn't much too see outdoors.
But we would defiantly go again!"

"Reserved a table for 2 on a Saturday night (good thing, it was packed). To start we got the crab/lobster dip which was really good with chunks of crab and lobster meat. The menu looks great, I decided to try the beef short rib because even though I am not a big fan of short rib because often it disappoints, I almost always try it when I see it on a menu. I gotta say I loved the short rib, it was so delicious and the mashed potatoes were good and the asparagus was cooked perfectly, everything tasted so fresh. My wife got the lake erie perch and fries and it was also very good, I loved their sea salt fries. Good service for being so packed, nice portions and a good value, we will DEFINITELY be back many times!!"

"We brought my parents to the Argyle Street Grill to celebrate my father's 70th birthday. We have been here many times however it was my parents first visit. Andrea our server provided great service and responded quickly and cheerfully to our requests. This was important as we had four young boys with us too (ages 8-13)!! My father was impressed by all aspects of the restaurant and service. He couldn't believe how friendly everyone was and a couple in a table next to us stopped by to wish him a happy birthday. Thank you for helping to make his special occasion that much more memorable!"

"Living in St.Catharines we usually only go to the States for wings but after having these wings I have to these were some of the best wings I`ve ever had including at the Chicken wing festival. "Perfect for a small town. Not great for big groups as the restaurant has limited space. I have been many times as a resident of the town and no matter who the server is I always seem to find myself waiting on drinks.
The food rarely disappoints.
Its always busy, a reservation is your best bet. Multiple times I am told my table is just being wiped whether I am 5 minutes early or late for my reservation. I think that shows just how much this establishment is loved in its community. Not a place for a quiet meal."

"As past reviewers have noted, the food was outstanding as was the service. We thoroughly enjoyed both our appetizers and our entrees at the Argyle St. Grill.
The only downside to our meal was the number of 'loud talkers' that surrounded us.....however, even they couldn't distract us from a wonderful meal!"

"Food is the reason I make the effort to dine here. Everyone that I take here raves about the food. There is enough served to satisfy the hungriest.
I always want to finish my meal but then there's no room for desert.

"Food is always good tasting.Had the chicken wings and they were hot, crispy and saucy! Yum
Was disappointed in the lobster & crab dip. Tasted excellent but there was only 1/8" in the dish and the dish was small. For $11.00 I expected more. Usually you run out of chips before dip but not this one, a handful of chips and dip was gone and we were skimpy on amount we put on chips."

"We had an order of ribs and they were delicious. We also had some large(tiger) coconut shrimp which were just O.K.
The Asian salad was terrific.

The service was timely and they also have a good cottage-brewed beer. The manager catered to the locals and avoided interaction with us. This was really a terrible marketing error on his behalf."

"Our reservation was for7 of us in our party, the table was only set for 6,but not a problem to add one more. We were served in a timely manner by excellent attending staff. The meals were hot and well presented and an adequate amount. All good. It was my husband's birthday, and the waitress made special efforts to take time to talk a bit with our table members. She said she was leaving as she has another job and cannot work both into her busy schedule. It was nice to share some of the conversation with her. We have been to the restaurant many times, this being one of the most memorable for service and quality of food."

"Having been to your restaurant last month, twice in one week with my brother, I thought it would be great to visit again. I made a reservation for 7 adults on Sunday March 24th. What a dissapointment for our family gathering. The soup was tepid, the mussels on top of the bowl were dried out ,the escargot which we had the month before, just was not the same, it tasted and looked different, not in a good way, the ribs were cold. As we were eating our appetizers, our main meals arrived. They were promptly placed on the table as we tried to adjust for space, while we were finishing our appetizers.This is certainly not a way to enjoy a relaxing meal. One family member said they would not return.

"Although we have enjoyed dining here before this was not one of the best experiences. On this occasion the wings were overcooked, there are never enough crustinis given with the baked Brie appetizer and must always ask for more. The waitress did not seem thrilled that we had requested a dining room table rather then the original bar table reserved for us. Do to physical restrictions a lower table setting was required. We will attend again and hope for a better experience as the grill is usually very exceptional."

"Argyle Street Grille is ranked number one eatery in Caledonia on Tripadvisor but does not have a lot of competition in its class. While it is nice it is essentially an upper end family restaurant. The food was good but service sporadic, I think due to a new server. Chicken Linguini was tasty but nothing special. Lake Erie perch was good. It should be noted that it comes in 3 sizes and the 1/4 pound is more than adequate with 3 large pieces of fish. The coconut shrimp appetizer was a little overcooked and rubbery. The Asian coleslaw served with the appetizer was a nice touch. Would return but not for a high class meal. My overall rating is based on comparison to other Opentable restaurants not just restaurants in Caledonia"

"My girlfriend and I had made a reservation, but had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, which was not a big deal as it was clearly very busy and we were seated ahead of others who did not have a reservation.
We were originally seated in a very cramped area and before we could even sit down asked for another table which was immediately accommodated.
Our server, Courtney, was incredibly friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. The food was outstanding. I had the prime rib special and my girlfriend had a the baseball steak and seafood chowder which was also on special. Overall, great experience, this was our second time visiting and we will definitely be back.
