The Blue Star is a sleek, sophisticated restaurant offering an escape from the norm. The Blue Star offers two different dining rooms for two different dining experiences. Each room has its own menu. Menus change frequently based on fresh local product availability and guest feedback. The lounge offers a more social scene and first come/first served seating. There is hip music playing overhead, the bar is inside the room, and there are tall round tables for cocktailing. The dining room is much quieter and is surrounded by sophisticated decor, wood floors, white table cloths and an open kitchen. We are known for our extensive wine list, 1/2 off bottles of wine on Sunday nights, 1/2 off martinis on Monday and other unique promotions. The private Wine Cellar is not available for online booking, but give us a shout for detials. No outside food or beverage but we'd be happy to create your custom cakes.
"This was not the first time I have been to the Blue Star and will not be the last! As always we received wonderful service, even on a busy Mother's day night. Our server paid enough attention to us to be kept satified but we were not overly bothered by her. We sat on the secluded side of the restaurant, which I have sat once before, and it was great. It is a little dark, but it goes with the atmosphere well. I perfer to sit on the busier bar side, but over had a great experience here!"

"The Blue Star has two separate dining areas. I've always been seated in the main one (as you enter the restaurant) and have had a wonderful experience, but this time we were seated in the other dining room. I found this room lacked ambience, was too loud, and the service was poor (it seems like they were short staffed). We had to wait about 15 minutes before we even got water. the server wasn't friendly at all. It was Mother's Day weekend so I understand it was busy, but service was still sub par. The food, as always was excellent."

"We went to Blue Star for our anniversary. It was amazing! The service was top notch. The moment we sat down and told them we were celebrating they brought us complimentary champagne. Everyone was so attentive and made the experience so enjoyable. The food was so good too! We had the tenderloin and venison and wow it was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant over a couple of other higher end places in town. It was worth it!"

"My husband and I had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant so we decided to try it out for our anniversary since we knew it was a little pricey, but in the end the food portions, quality of the food, and taste were not worth the $100+ price tag of our meal. We definitely won't be going back there, because overall the food was not as good as we expected it to be."

"This is some of the best food we've had since moving to this area 4 years ago. Definitely worth the drive from Pueblo. Tucked away a bit, when you drive up you are not sure what to expect. When you walk in its like a "real" restaurant, in the big city! Great selections, I had Purple Peruvian Potato gnocchi and my husband had venison osso bucco."

"Just an all around excellent place. Wonderful food and just great place to be. We enjoyed ourselves so much at the place, we stayed over an hour just talking after eating dessert. Very comfortable environment."

"I went one time back in 2007 and my next time I went was 2013. The whole time in between there all I could think about is their AWESOME Calamari! When we sat down I noticed it wasn't on the menu as the menu changes monthly but I did request it and when they brought it out and I devoured it, it tasted the same as when I remembered. I had the Venison and my friend had the Purple Gnocchi and both were great! This is a pricey place but well worth it!"

"I was a little disappointed in our visit this past Saturday. The appetizer and salad and soup were very good as was the dessert. But my dinner was a little undercooked (the shrimp was blue at one end and only pink at the tail and close to the center). We missed the bean hummus you've always had. And the service was good, but there were so many big tables that evening that we got a little lost in the shuffle and had to wait for water and other requests. We'll be back for sure but I just thought I would let you know that you didn't quite measure up to previous visits and we hope it's not a trend. We were wondering if management or the chef or ownership had changed?"

"Noise level so high it was very difficult to have a conversation. Service was terrific, food fabulous but all was lost in the inability to have a conversation. We asked to move to the lounge area but hostess assured us it was just as loud. Not so."

"I took a friend here for lunch for her birthday because her husband was deployed and what a nice treat for both of us. I have never been for dinner, but had heard great things. We decided on lunch because it was the only time I could get childcare arranged. It was a quite weekday afternoon when we went, and I am glad my young children were in daycare. This is not a place I would bring a young child. Not that that is a bad thing at all. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. I asked for a specialty drink because I am pregnant and they brought me a menu of mocktails which was wonderful to have a selection of beverages other than soda, juice or tea. Overall wonderful experience and I will be back again."

"Overall, our experience was very good. Courses and side accompaniments are somewhat eclectic, but quality of food was very good. Wine list is outstanding and we were very pleased that we dined on Sunday which was half-price wine bottle night!"

"We ate at the Blue Star on a rather quiet Sunday evening. The soup and salad were delicious but the entrees were a bit of a disappointment. I had a chicken dish (saltimbocco) and the chicken was on the dry side. My husband had the special which was, I believe, a crab mixture wrapped in beef and was not especially flavorful. For an expensive restaurant the meal was not a memorable one."

"I didn't see an outdoor area so I can't comment on that. Otherwise, I loved, loved the Blue Star. The servers sharing the load was a great way to be served. The food was very tasty. And the suggestion for a different style of wine was interesting. We enjoyed the entire experience. We will be back."

"I attended with my fiancee as a Valentine's Day treat. The menu was thus limited, but at the same time, nevertheless robust. From salad to desert, every bite was scrumptious. The steak...we both ordered the tenderloin...was cooked to perfection. The wait staff was courteous, unobtrusive and quick to respond. The fact that the ambiance is average is the only negative I observed. Where we sat, in a large room fronting the open kitchen and near the open side door to a particularly cluttered kitchen environment, took a bit away from the romanticism of the moment."

"Valentine's Day package was too expensive for the value. Also, had a table that rocked and the waiter could not fix it. For $175 for 2 people, the value should have been MUCH higher. Good food but not worth that much money."

"The Buffalo Chicken Pasta was great, and the desserts are divine! The atmosphere is fun and vibrant on the bar side, and quiet and romantic on the dining room side. Best service in town by a seemingly endless team of wait staff."

"I actually made a mistake on the tip I left, when I got home I called and spoke to a very nice person who got me the name of waitress so I could send the additional tip...The person was very nice and did not make me feel bad but instead thanked me and made me feel so appreciated to even care"

"Initially sat in the bar area prior to reservation time and received outstanding service. Great wait staff and outstanding cocktails. After being seated in the dining room, my wife and I did not have anyone say anything to us for over ten minutes so we departed the dining room and went to sit and eat back in the bar area where, again, we received outstanding service. The food selection in the bar area seemed better as it included not only the same dishes as the dining room but also included more 'routine' dishes such as burgers and bar-type appetizers. Quality of the food was great."

"The food, service and ambiance was very good. Note: there are 2 sides to this restaurant. There is a fine dining side and a bar-like atmosphere. We ate in the fine dining side and the service was great. The seafood selections were great which is a bit hard to come-by in CO."

"We love The Blue Star. They try to be creative with their menu. They work hard to have a varied wine list that appeals to all price points. Sometimes the food can be a miss, but usually it is a home-run. In a sea of chain restaurants in this town, this is a great find for an evening of fine dining."

"We went on a Monday that turned out to be "Martini Monday" (half price martinis), but they wouldnt honor that special in the main dining room, only the bar! So we got relocated to the bar and it was fine. Just a silly rule (and probably the reason the dining room was dead and the bar was full!)"
