Claire's at the Depot
In a casual yet elegant atmosphere, set in a recently remodelled century old historic train station, Claire's passion is great food and outstanding service. Offering contemporary American cuisine - local, seasonally focused - with a Southern flaire. The renovation honors the historic character of the Warrenton Train Depot, resulting in a warm, comfortable environment for casual meetings with friends, or special occasions and intimate family meals. The warm, elegant Garden Room provides seating for intimate meals, while the Tavern Room features a more casual dining experience in luxurious surroundings. A rotating selection of craft beers is available on tap, and the wine service is regularly expanded. Outdoor dining is available in season, and private events can be hosted in one of several areas in the restaurant. Awarded "Best of Warrenton" every year since 2006.

"My husband and I have been going to Claire's for years. We went there even before the place had a do over. We have taken friends, family and clients here. Claire is a french chef and really knows how to make super delicious meals. The main problem we encounter since the restaurant has been re-modled is where they always try to seat us and that is in the bar. We are not drinkers and we come from Vienna. There are plenty of bars around here we can go to. If you are coming with clients you want a nice setting and the bar just doesn't do it. We have to continually specify exactly where we want to be seated but they always take us to the bar. That is the only thing I do not like about Claire's."

"I really enjoyed my recent lunch at Claire's at the Depot. The food was delicious, although because it was lunch, I didn't get a good sense of the menu's range overall. It felt like I was getting the tip of the iceberg, but I'd be happy to go back for more tastes! Beer was good. Key lime pie was bracing, with no artificial color. Softshell crab sandwich worth eating, AND close to home? Yes, please!"

"Claire's is our favorite restaurant in town by far. The food is always delicious and fresh and competitively priced compared to other local chains. It is comfortable and beautiful and it is not unusual to run into friends.
We went recently to celebrate our anniversary and the restaurant treated us to complementary champagne and dessert. What a nice surprise!"

"We wanted a restaurant that could offer a "quiet table in the corner" for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Claire's provided just that. The food was excellent -- we both had the Scallops and I highly recommend the dish -- and the wine was very enjoyable. I had ordered flowers to be delivered to the restaurant and, as requested, they were sitting atop the table when we arrived. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive, and handled our request not to rush the meal perfectly! In all, it was the kind of evening we were hoping for, and Claire's was just the right place for dinner. We'll definitely be back."

"I really liked the fact that the environment was relaxing, comfortable and provided a light lunch for the day; However inconvenient disruption to this exciting day was presented by being rushed to place orders for our food. Our appointment was scheduled at 1:45 PM, a few members from our group was running late due to traffic. We were told by the hostess that all orders were to be taken by 2:00 PM because the kitchen was closing. (???) Although the hostess was told that this information was never mentioned to me prior or after setting reservations, there were no exceptions made to make this a pleasant experience. I had to collect everyone's orders by phone, and continue to rush all party members."

"Everything about this restaurant was fantastic! from the ambiance and decor to the service, and the food. We were weekending in Warrenton and found Claire's through OpenTable. Taking a chance, we made reservations. I ordered the beet salad and Spring Risotto. Both were outstanding. The risotto was some of the best I have ever eaten, cooked perfectly. My husband's salad and filet mignon were equally delicious. We tried to get brunch reservations for the next day but unfortunately they were booked. If we are ever in that area again, Claire's will be our restaurant of choice."

"Claire has remodeled the old train station into a sleek, comfortable restaurant with enough original features to be charming. The food is always good, with great variety, and comprehensive menu. The wine list is "good enough". Beautiful patio and yard, not too loud. Kids are welcome, but people tend not to bring them. There is a nice bar scene, but not boisterous. Groups can be accommodated, but it's largely tables of two to four. Easy parking steps from the door. A favorite locally. Wonderful lunch, a great Sunday brunch."

"Claire's is a true gem. The location in the nicely redecorated old train depot and the ambiance are great. However, because the restaurant is a couple of blocks off Main Street in Old Town Warrenton, some may have overlooked it. It is arguably the best restaurant in Warrenton these days, and I try to direct newcomers to it. In warm weather, the terrace is a treat. The food is great and not at all run-of-the-mill. Claire's is the perfect place to meet an old friend (or a group of friends) to have a long catch-up chat over a delightful, delicious lunch."

"The food and service is competative with anything in the Washington, D.C. area. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the seafood was outstanding. The wine selection is a little overpriced but is a nice small selection. Drinks after dinner at the bar were delightful and served by a bartender who knew what he was doing. That is rare in the region. The only negative is that the dining room is not a good place to try to have a conversation over dinner. It is far too loud and the tables way too close."

"Delightful all the way around!! Food was perfectly delicious--mixed grill was my husband's favorite, their pan seared scallops with spinach & grits are a foodie favorite! The flour less chocolate cake was just decadent enough. The service was fast & attentive. Ambiance was lovely...but with an open concept was a little loud. The restaurant remodel was impressive & next visit we will give the new bar area a try. I can highly recommend Claire's & we will be returning soon!"

"Claire's is a local fixture....I would say one of two very good restaurants in Warrenton, the other being Iron Bridge. The food is delicious, the menu has a wide selection, and the wine list is acceptable, even to my importer husband. The bar seems to be popular, but it is not a young rowdy crowd, but rather a nice place to go if you over 40. Recently redecorated, Claire's has taken advantage of the features of the old Warrenton depot in an attractive way, and as an over 70 customer, I appreciate the fact that the lights are kept up and the music is kept down. The seating is comfortable....there are two fireplaces...parking is available close by."
