EBT Restaurant is casual elegant restaurant with a unique look and a grasp on tradition. You can easily get to EBT in 20 minutes or less from nearly all points of the KC Metro. Conveniently located at I-435 and State Line Road, don't let the UMB Building fool you! There are tremendous things going on inside. Beginning Tuesday, May 1 2012, EBT is launching a brand new dinner menu! Featuring items like a wonderful Lamb T-Bone, Roasted Duck Breast and Alaskan Halibut ala Shanel; the new menu promises to deliver plates that are as beautiful as they are delicious! We have been in business for 30 + years with a history of loyal clientele. We offer tableside cooking on select items making your experience truly memorable. Our gracious approach to service is strengthened with our passion for great food and wine. It would be our pleasure to make your dining experience special!

"There are so many good restaurants in southern kansas city and Overland Park that many people, we among them, often forget about EBT. We've dined there on several occasions, and they deserve high marks on the big three . . . food, atmosphere, and service. By the way, they have a fantastic happy hour, and with live music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with music beginning at 6:00 pm."

"This is our third visit to this restaurant this year because it consistently has good food (despite a limited menu). But this is an upscale restaurant with servers who really could use more training. Our server never asked us if we wanted to order an appetizer, never asked if we wanted a salad when we place our entree orders, left our wine bottle sitting in the ice bucket until our four glasses were bone dry and then upon emptying the bottle never asked us if we would like another. Are you kidding me? That is Waiting on Customers 101. We probably won't be back because of the service. What a shame since the food is good."

"Service was excellent. The waitress was very nice and accommodating. I would recommend the Peppercorn Filet Medallions. My husband ordered Prime Rib medium well and it was over cooked and tough. The waitress apologized and brought him another one that was cooked much better. They do not serve Au Jus with the Prime Rib which was a disappointment. Everything else was very good. The Crab Cakes were great. They have 2 old elevator rooms that can seat 4 that can be reserved. Very cool. They also had a Piano player which was nice."

"We were seated in a section with a table of 12 with one server who had virtually no help handling either our table or theirs. Obviously the table of 12 took more work and had priority - it took forever to get our apps, our food was cold, our drinks didn't get refilled and it was challenging to get the bill paid. The bartender was apparently also the manager and he was running through the bar on more than one instance. I appreciate hustle but the untucked shirt and dropped glassware was a little much for this caliber of restaurant. The food would had potential. The hostess should have seated us in a different section. There were servers standing around doing nothing. They could've helped a teammate or we could've been seated elsewhere"

"EBT is a beautifully appointed restaurant with consistently good food and service although this trip had some disappointment with overcooked fish and a waiter who, despite his 20 years of experience at the restaurant, poured our entire bottle of wine into three glasses in one pour. Quite disconcerting. We had to ask him not to repeat it with our second bottle."

"We love EBT and try to make it at least once a season. This visit was another great experience full of flavorful food & good service. Drinks were delicious and the lobster/steak special was divine. I recommend the pork chop to everyone we bring to EBT, so if you're reading this, you must try the pork chop - it's outstanding every time. My partner had the salmon with the parm risotto which had perfect flavoring. Yum!! Can't wait to come back and bring others. If you haven't been to EBT in some time or ever - you've got to go! Unique history and story behind the restaurant is charming. Don't be fooled by the fact that it's in a bank. EBT has its culinary chops and is proving it nightly. Outstanding."

"The restaurant was dead - it was the middle of a snowstorm - but it still took us a solid 10 minutes to see our waiter, another 15 for him to come back and take our order, and then once our food came, we didn't see him again until it was time to bring the check. He actually said, "Sorry I didn't get a chance to make it back to your table." The food was good - not $82-for-two-meals-good - but the service ensured we will never be back."

"This is a great place to experience a nicely paced and relatively quiet dinner in the dining room while enjoying the live music coming from the lounge. The Caesar salad prepared table side is not to be missed. Delicious! The host, girl who brought the water and waiter were not the friendly, chatty, and attentive people that we usually encounter while there. When we sat down the table next to us just stared at us and the man next to us made a comment, while starring, about black people this and black people that. 3 of us are white and one black. I felt terrible for our friend for how rude everyone was. The guests, and staff, looked at us like what were we doing there? I'm unsure when EBT became a place full of people that frowned upon people of color enjoying dinner. It will be the last time we go there."

"I love EBT for its intimate bar area and live music. The restaurant also has some great tables near a fireplace that are the most romantic.
The entree selection covers a variety of tastes and is exquisitely prepared. My favorite dessert there is the bananas foster, and EBT is one of the few restauthat offer the labor intensive dessert. The service there is always tops and the bartenders are very accomodating and friendly."

"Ambiance is always good at EBT! We love that but the food this time was very disappointing. The Cesar Salad made at tableside was not good - too spicy, too much garlic, anchovies and Tabasco. The prime rib was a very poor cut and way overcooked - burned. Potatoes were OK and green beens were not seasoned and were too undercooked. But, we did enjoy the atmosphere. The waiter was way too attentive, demonstrative and kept saying, "have we decided what we are going to have for dinner...are we going to have some coffee...are we ready for our check!!". Just about decided to have him join us at the table. He would spread his arms as he approached our table (and others) like he was trying to be angelic or bird-like. We did enjoy the ambiance"

"We chose EBT for a Valentine dinner. We wanted a place with good food, ambiance, and great service. EBT meet and exceeded our expectations. We had lived in Overland Park 16 years ago and this was a favorite place. We are glad to find it is as special as when we lived here."

"Overall the meal was very good. However, the prime rib was a large, but very thin cut and seemed similar to what I'd get at a lower end steak house. Excellent Bloody Mary! The server staff was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant temperature was cold and we were not prepared for this - felt that we were below a fan or vent outlet. It is a beautiful restaurant."
