Namaste!!! Welcome to Himalayan Yak Restaurant, the oldest running and first ever Nepali restaurant opened in New York. We serve delicious, authentic food from the Himalayan region which includes Nepali, Tibetan, Indian and Bhutanese dishes. Himalayan Yak restaurant, a hidden jewel in the heart of Jackson heights, Queens, NY is located just a few steps away from the Roosevelt Ave subway station. We have received numerous awards since we opened our doors in 2005, one of which includes winner of Best Tibetan restaurant from Village Voice on June of 2008. We were also featured in an episode of the hit ABC series "Ugly Betty", which featured the restaurant’s exotic food and cozy ambience reminiscent of Nepal. We have a live band playing Nepali, Tibetan and Hindi music 5 nights a week. We provide free delivery around the neighborhood and an amazing lunch special and weekend buffet, besides the eclectic dishes served from the menu.

"We got there a bit early, and had 15 seats reserved. Our party was running late, and they were kind enough to leave us w/ 12 chairs until they showed. There's a full bar, if you're one who likes drinks. The Wild Tea Cosmo is very good. ;)

They're patient when you're deciding upon which meals you'd like to order. Huge plus, esp. when dealing w/ large groups of people. Quick to respond to any additionl requests. If you have certain food restrictions, it's okay to bring your own... so as long as they know in advance. Same goes for bringing cake for a birthday or whatnot.

They're very kind and polite. And, I found out that upstairs they have a karaoke room.
