A centuries-old pink townhouse in the heart of TriBeCa is the setting for Tiny’s & The Bar Upstairs, a restaurant from Matt Abramcyk (Smith & Mills, Warren 77). Abramcyk sought to maintain the character of the 200-year-old space by restoring found materials and overlaying them with Americana finishes, creating the look and feel of a dinner club from a bygone era. The second level, known as "The Bar Upstairs," recalls a classic tavern one might stumble upon during their travels, with custom-made banquettes and antique appointments such as English country wallpaper and reclaimed tin ceilings. Chef John Martinez, who joined Abramcyk after 8 years with Jean-Georges Vongerichten, uses the finest local ingredients to prepare modern American dishes. Tiny's features an extensive list of wine, beer and refreshing cocktails. With its warm atmosphere and artistic spirit, Tiny's & The Bar Upstairs is perfect for a leisurely midday meal, a dinner date or catching up over cocktails.
"Tiny's had a great rustic atmosphere and our waiter was very nice. It's also an adorable neighborhood spot in tribeca (the building is painted pink). I only gave it a 4/5 stars on service because we wanted to get a refill of tea and it took a while/there was confusion so after some time had passed they brought over 2 new cups of tea. The chairs were also a bit small but surprisingly comfortable. Other than that the experience was great! The food is delicious (we were there for brunch). Among all of us we got the fruit bowl, kale salad, eggs, and the gruyere omelette. All of us enjoyed the overall dining experience."

"Great food, great service, the only thing I didn't like was Credence on Pandora cycling the same songs OVER AND OVER. It was really annoying to hear "Bad Moon Rising" 3 TIMES during dinner. Otherwise a very pleasant experience."

"We used to like this place a lot. The food is always good, sometimes very good. We like to bring our friends, This time (Thursday April 18) we were somewhat disappointed. The waiter did not seem to be particularly happy with his job. The wine we ordered before ordering food arrived halfway the appetizers, and only after two complaints. The music was so loud we really could not have a proper conversation. Tiny, this is not the way to go. Get rid of this non-smiling waiter. Keep the sound at an acceptable level. We'll give it one more try (but only on)."

"Tiny's feels very intimate--it has narrow dining rooms and you sit close together. It has a great changing wine list, and the service staff are knowledgeable to recommend you good pairings. I especially like their salads. A vibrant spot for the neighborhood."

"While the location was perfect, and the space was quaint, the service left much to be desired. The back wait staff was more capable than the front wait staff. Our server brought the food to the table without also thinking that we might want pepper, honey for our tea, butter and jam for our toast, etc. It took nearly 15 minutes for us to acquire these condiments! This lack of service occurred during a time when the restaurant wasn't especially busy (3:30pm Saturday). I would suggest that management run servers through a refresher..."

"Great food. Great experience. Favorite part was the attitude and work ethic of the servers. Very straightforward and helpful. Attentive without being doting. Pleasant without being obnoxious. Didn't see a fake smile all night. Nice experience all around."

"Really love this little spot, had a great meal and will be going back. The only two things I would note however is that at dinner time they dim the lights REALLY low. I could barely see my food! And the decor and eclectic feel is great, however it did mean i was in a fairly uncomfortable chair...!"

"I like this place and recommend it for a cool ambience, good food, and a well priced wine list. However, the host is inexperienced and has an attitude which put a damper on our dinner. The rest of the staff tried to make up for him."

"Appealing menu - familiar with a bit of a twist - that is well executed. Nicely curated vintage home atmosphere. Small spaces and narrow stairways are quaint but could put some more traditional diners off."

"This is the tenth time I've been to Tiny's in the last three months. Everything is consistently great. The food. The service. The vibe. The only cavil I'd offer is the wine list. It's interesting and off-beat. But there are only two or three drinkable ones in a reasonable price range (45-70). The cheap reds are pretty bad. And then there are five or so bottle north of $100. That's not helpful. In a place otherwise so smartly put together, the list could be adjusted to offer more interesting wines in that $55 sweet spot.
One man's opinion."

"Sat by the cozy fireplace on a chilly night. Restaurant is small in every way but somehow comfortable and get busy, but not so cramped that it's uncomfortable. Loved the kale salad and found all the food deliciously prepared.
To me this is a neighborhood restaurant so I found the prices a bit high."

"I was traveling on a "Girl's Getaway Weekend" with a friend and we came to the city to enjoy ourselves. As avid NY Rangers fans, we scoped out Tiny's as Henrik Lundqvist is one of the owners. We caught a cab to Tribeca and showed up at around 5:45 right as the sun was setting. Inside, the lights were off and the entire restaurant was lit only be candles. There was a fire burning in an adjacent back room. It was such a cozy environment. We had a late lunch; so, we just ordered drinks and an appetizer. We had the Meatballs & Garlic Toast (amazing) and at the recommendation of our waiter, I had the Bourbon Cider cocktail (delicious)! Our waiter and the hostess were both very friendly and made us feel right at home."

"awesome/cozy place... although if you're sitting in the front of the restaurant it's pretty chilly in the winter from the door opening so much. service is just okay; rather laid back."

"The setting is so intimate, dimly lit with lots of candles and a charming working fireplace in the dining room. At our table we had 4 different entrees (duck, pork chop, steak and chicken). They were all delicious! Staff was warm and friendly. I would definitely recommend it."

"The good: ambiance is unparalleled. The place is, well, tiny, so it's perfect for couples and small groups. Try to get a table by the fireplace for an especially romantic meal. The desserts (we tried all three offered) were great. The cocktails are spectacular; they have a great bar staff. The not so good: the bar upstairs is even tinier, which is a shame because otherwise it would be a truly great place for a cocktail. It's a very cozy place, so patrons are wont to linger, which makes seatings tricky. We had to wait almost 45 minutes after our reservation time. The menu is limited, but what they serve is solid if not spectacular (except for the desserts). The place isn't cheap, but because of the size, they have to make money somehow."
