The food at Picco is designed with sharing in mind to best experience our local, seasonal, and ingredient-driven cuisine. Our wine list features an eclectic collection of bottles from the best growing regions around the globe. Located in historic downtown Larkspur California, Picco offers a full bar, private dining rooms, and cozy booths in a brick and redwood setting. Personal wines are welcome, $25 corkage per 750ml bottle.

"There was much anticipation for this Mother's Day dinner and we had same wonderful food and service my family has grown to expect. Shortcomings were highly personal:The bar did not have my favored gin (Plymouth), the desert menu did not include our favored desert (those rasberry milk shakes), and the mussels, something new for me at Pico's, did not hit the home run I expected. The avocado bruchetta, the asparagus, and the risotta were fantastic. I can't wait to return. It had been too long."

"The big shame of eating at Picco is that you're overserviced and rushed through dinner. We've been to Picco twice and both times encountered a feeling of being hurried through a meal. It's not that we were explicitly asked to leave, but a 4-5 course meal in under an hour feels a bit intense. Before we could finish our appetizer the plates were taken away, we had to ask that they leave the bread on the table and then when we denied one bus boy our plates a more senior server came over and snapped them up to move us onto the next course. After that, the rest of the experience was laughable. Why the rush guys?"

"Food is always excellent, had the halibut crudo, tuna tartare, avocado bruschetta, mussels and sliders.
the mussels were overcooked and fishy but everything else was very enjoyable
and for dessert we had the soft serve ice cream from next door with caramel and sea salt!!! YUMMY

"Haven't been to Picco in a while but was able to grab a last minute reservation during the week. The asparagus was the highlight for me; served with prosciutto and burrata, drizzled with balsamic....perfection! The risotto, as always, was wonderful with corn and kale. We were up for something new is the drinks department and the waiter made great suggestions for gin, vodka and wine. All and all a terrific meal"

"We had a lovely anniversary dinner at Picco. The service was perfect -- attentive, very friendly, and not intrusive. We ordered the asparagus, risotto, mussels and quail. They were all lovely. My one criticism is that the mussels were lukewarm. Other than that, we really enjoyed the meal and would recommend highly Picco Restaurant."

"We used to frequent Picco often. Sometimes we'd even come for a drink and the milkshakes and madeleines after dining elsewhere. We were looking forward to our past experiences and unfortunately we were quite disappointed. First we were seated in the very back over an air conditioning vent. They couldn't turn it down but thankfully moved us into the main dining room (much preferable). We were very pleased with the vegetable dishes - avocado bruschetta and carrots and turnips were great. Our main fish dishes were o.k. but nothing special, especially for the price (which has really increased). My "prawn" dish was really overcooked shrimp. Then we learned that after years on the menu they no longer serve milkshakes and madeleines. Bummer!"

"First went over a month and enjoyed it. We were seated in a pleasant, quiet area with a window to the tables outside. We went again. This time we were seated in the 'main thoroughfare' where there was more hustle and bustle. Our waiter was condescending especially when we asked for a plain pasta (we did the first time and it was no problem and quite delicious).
We were not served bread until we asked one of the staff (the other helpers in the restaurant were friendly and helpful compared to our waiter who only flitted by to ask if everything was fine - how often does one say 'no'?).
The child's pasta that we requested had not quite drained so there was liquid under the pasta. Food OK, service varies."

"This night's meal was one disappointment after another. The ahi tuna starter showed creativity, but the flavor combination didn't work and the texture of the base was best described as strange. The mussels were passable. The halibut fish special was OK, but the fish was overcooked and dry. The eggplant parmesean was boring. Then there were the service issues. We were seated 1/2 hour after our reservation time by a restaurant that requires a CC number for a reservation. We ordered white wine, but when it was presented, it wasn't chilled at all. The server placed it in an ice bucket, but it was not at the proper temperature for most of our meal. When dining at Picco, you expect (and pay for) great food and service. We got neither."

"The food was off the charts amazing. Every bite was perfection. I can't say enough about it. We had oysters as a starter and they were fresh and beautifully presented. My favorite was the smoked sturgeon. It was packed with flavor and beautiful to look at.
All of our entrees were fabulous and ample in size.
My only complaint was the $45 corkage for the second bottle of wine. A little steep in my opinion. We still spent almost $300, even with our wine. I thought the service was a little slow, but the food was so good that I didn't care."

"The risotto lives up to its billing. I mean, wow. I won't even try to describe it; it's that good. The restaurant is in a nice area of Larkspur, off on a corner surrounded by trees, which lends nicely to the setting. The clientele... well, it reminded me a lot of Del Mar in north county San Diego, for what that's worth. A lot of good people watching. The appetizer and entree were good, but the risotto is really the reason to go."

"We had been here previously, about 3 years ago and remembered it was really good. On our most recent visit, it didn't disappoint. My wife and I are foodies and it was one of the best meals we've had in a while. Love the small plates and recommendations from the staff. Everything was prepared perfect and flavors were amazing. "This was our second visit, and it proved that our first impression wasn't just a lucky night. This is a serious reserve-way-ahead destination restaurant, but with none of the downsides that term often suggests: It was a busy friday night, but our table (and everyone else's as far as I could see) was ready when we arrived. The service was GREAT - very knowledgeable about the menu & large wine list without being at all stuffy or intrusive. Fabulous creative food from beginning to end, and their emphasis on small dishes and sharing adds energy and interest to the whole deal.
One caution: the noise level can get a bit high. The smaller second room - - farthest from the bar - - is quieter (but not "quiet.")"

"As always the food was excellent, BUT, there is more to a great restaurant experience than just great food. I had made a reservation for a party of 7 for my father's 75th birthday dinner. When we arrived we were stuffed into the worst table in the restuatant, a side table at the end of the bar. It was rediculously noisy, my parents could not hear a thing, people were standing all around us and the service was lacking because we were so separated from the rest of the restaurant. It seems to me that if someone makes a reservation well in advance, and the table available is inferior, they should be told so right away. I would have much preferred to take my father to a restaurant where he could have heard and enjoyed his family."

"Service was excruciatingly slow. An order of brussel sprouts that we had requested as an appetizer didn't arrive until AFTER our dinner plates were taken away!!! The server was apologetic and said that the chef had "lost" the order and comped them, but it definitely detracted from the experience. The restaurant was also quite noisy, making conversations difficult."
