"My husband and I enjoyed dinner at the Steak House on Mother's Day. We had driven 4 hours from the Bay Area to our home in Reno and were ready for a special meal. We both ordered the streak and prawns scampi. The sauce was delicious! The service as usual was the best. You can't beat the Tamarack for service! Our waiter found out we were also celebrating our birthdays and surprised us with desert, a wonderful chocolate cake with ice cream. Thank you for making our birthdays and Mother's Day truly special!"

"While the ambience was nice, it was very noisy. I enjoyed the friendly and always available waitstaff. One of our party of eight ordered the lobster and it was way way way overcooked making it too tough to cut with a knife. She sent it back and they exchanged it for the lamb with no difficulties except that the rest of us were finished eating by the time her lamb got there so the restaurant comped her meal. It was a nice consulation. The lamb was excellent (2 double rib chops), the steak diane was incredible and we enjoyed the table side preperation. The ribeye and the chilean sea bass were also extremely tasty with a nice presentation. The coconut cake and creme brule were awesome desserts."

"First time to try new steakhouse (open 1 year); lounge around the corner from bar is great! Warmth from gas fireplace was a nice backdrop to watch the water wall in action directly across.
Menu offered many options including a couple of specials. We love the cheese plate as an appetizer and it was wonderful. From start to finish the food and service were without question, without error.
The coconut cake for dessert was over the top! By the time we were done, the restaurant was full so be sure to make a reservation. Will make it a point to visit again."

"Usually at least a 4 star experience...not this time. Had to ask 3 times for beverages, my ribeye was gristly, although wife enjoyed hers. Overall disappointing considering past experience and expectations."

"My husband loves a good steak and is very picky so he was very pleased to find a great steak house with in just 5 minutes of were we live. He had the blue cheese rib eye which we loved the sauce and I had the filet mignon which melted in my mouth he said mine was the best of the two. Jeff did and awesome job of preping and serving our caeser salad which we both said was the best we ever had. Our experince in dining that evening was a surprising delight and we will be back. We both love creme brulee and our compliments to the cheif it was suberb. Thanks for such a nice dining experience that we will look forward to again soon. Ken and Jeannette:):)"

"Not a ton of restaurants on the South end of town, let alone any non-franchise locally owned and unique spots. This one surprised us. Once you wade through the smoke and slot filled entrance, you will find this place like an Oasis within the Tamarak. Great service - server Kevin and the Head Waiter Geoff (does the table-sides) are outstanding. Wine selection was varied with mostly name brand CA/OR/WA at surprisingly decent price points. Tableside Caesar for two was very enjoyable, as was their specialty Steak Diane and Bananas Foster (both also tableside). Other great steaks on the menu - and NOT a la carte like most ofther steakhouses. Comfy bar area and a decent run of specialty Martini's/Cocktails. I would definitely recommend!!"

"Have eaten here several times now and food has been equally delicious each time. The restraunt staff are attentive and open to suggestions or requests. We will continue to use this for our "go to" place for a nice, delicious dinner getaway!"

"The staff is well trained and they know the food and wine selections available to the consumer. You are treated as a speacial guest. The steak diane and filet are great but I find it hard to pass up the lamb selection. You will have a great time but make reservations. It is being discovered."
