"I loved the beauty of the dining room. The staff were friendly and helpful. My sister and I had the beef spareribs; tender, good sauce, and boneless. The servings were generous. We used the Dine about Town menu and were happy."

Review 2 for The Oak Room - The Westin St. Francis
"I went to the Oak Room during the "Dine Around Town" to celebrate the Valentine's day that in my country is on June,12th. and it was a very nice choice... The waitress was a lovely lady, the ambiance is sober and elegant and the food was just delicious ! Our reservation worked perfectly as well. Thanks a lot."

Review 3 for The Oak Room - The Westin St. Francis
"This place is very quiet and has quite an atmosphere almost like you are in an old library. Unfortunately, their Dine About Town menu was NOT the same online as when you got there. Very disappointed as we wanted the prime rib. The food was fine but nothing spectacular at all. In fact, the salad needed some help so that was not a good way to start. The pot roast was moist and tasty but not outstanding. Our server was very kind and did well yet our food coming out in stages was a bit slow for us. We probably won't be back because the price really does not match the food quality. On another note, a homeless person tried to eat there and the staff handled it pretty well and then went around to all of the customers after."

Review 5 for The Oak Room - The Westin St. Francis
"The Dine About Town menu was not the same as on the website, which was extremely disappointing. The food was still good, but it was simply not what I was expecting or wanted. Our waitress was very pushy as it pertained to taking our order. I appreciate the attentiveness, but my friend and I were busy catching up. I feel should she have noticed that we hadn't even opened the menus yet. It was not crowded at all, so there should not have been a rush."

Review 6 for The Oak Room - The Westin St. Francis
"A great Mother's Day at the Oak Room. Sunday brunch with a large variety of items to choose from. All delicious. Of course I liked the roast beef and omelettes, but the blintzes were fabulous. So were the prawns. Don't get me started. Quite a variety of foods, all very good. The dessert table was unbelievable. The variety...the tastes. Found a chocolate mousse with gold flecks. A great meal and very attentive staff in a beautiful room in a classic hotel. What more could you want?"

Review 7 for The Oak Room - The Westin St. Francis
"During a recent trip to San Francisco, I dined at The Oak Room with old friends. We were busy catching up, so the poor service didn't matter a great deal at the start, however it became troublesome as the evening continued. I found the menu acceptable and ordered the french onion soup: it was salty, but it's onion soup, right? The stock was hearty and the cheese delicious, temperature just right. Next I had the kale salad, and it was delightful. My friends had soup, salad as well and they seemed pleased. Lastly, we ordered the orange peel creme brûlée: served warm with a fruit garnish and delicious. What I found disappointing was the poor, even grumpy, attention of our server even though the restaurant was sparse with guests."

Review 8 for The Oak Room - The Westin St. Francis
"Impressive dining room fit for movies. Very disappointing dining experience. Clam chowder was awful, so was the rib roast. Rib roast was insipid and half of it was inedible fat. It looked like it was boiled, not roasted. Same with the baked potato; looked blue and very unappetizing. Dessert was decent. Breakfast was decent as well. Scrambled eggs were slimy and terrible. Shame Will not go back there again and will not recommend to anyone I know."

Review 9 for The Oak Room - The Westin St. Francis
"We were very unimpressed. The "room" is interesting and has a very old world feel. But, the restaurant is run like no one really cares. And, I guess, no one does! We were the only table with more than 1 person. There were probably 5 other tables, all single men or women on business probably that did not want to order room service perhaps. The food was fair at best. The staff was scarce and our attendant, although nice, was as old as the "room" itself and had to handle all 6 or so tables by herself. I think the hotel has to completely rethink this and just turn it into a buffet or something rather the promote It as a premium dining destination. St Francis does need a repositioning overall. I go to SF a lot but will be avoiding St Francis!"

"A bit of a discount dinner feel. Old agers specials. We ended up there by mistake, I thought that we were booking the Bourbon Steak House, which is in a completely different class."

Review 11 for The Oak Room - The Westin St. Francis
"Our dinner for four on Saturday evening was a big disappointment. Three orders of prime rib; none were tender and sea bass with little flavor including the sides. How embarrassing to have invited my business colleague and his wife to dinner with such a poor outcome. The waiter was friendly but oblivious to the poor meal. The only thing that was good was the wine!"
