A taste of "Nueva Cocina Mexicana", where your taste buds will not know what hit them. It is a culinary experience like no other. A combination of tastes and ambiance in a historical building in the heart of Livermore, decorated in a unique romantic style.
"El Sacramonte is an excellent restaurant with many choices. The staff is friendly and the service is impeccable. This is one of the best dining establishments in the Tri-Valley area and I plan to come here more often. This place is a gem of a restaurant and look forward to visiting this location more often."

"We were very disappointed with this, our 2nd visit to El Sacromonte. First time was promising gourmet Mexican. This time was bland, tasteless food. Most of the traditional Mexican items were gone from the menu. Still, I've been to Mexico. I know you can have good Mexican food that isn't tacos, enchiladas, etc. But this was just plain bland. We won't be back."

"For a steak place, most disappointing. Ordered the three salsa fillet, and was not happy. The meat, standing alone, was not cooked well and had no flavor. The outer outer surface had a grey look to it, not a nice "grill". The three salsa flavors were good, and did save the meat. Had to share with my wife, because of the lack of flavor with here meal. A member in our party asked for a baked potato with butter on the side. She got it with sour cream. Asked the waiter for butter, and got sour cream AGAIN. Asked a third time and received melted butter. Guess regular butter is a problem. They did have butter packed served with the bread. Service was slow, and often not there. Would not go back. Expensive for what we received."

"Ultimately the best place to eat amazingly delicious food and to enjoy the beautiful ambiance. I truly love to eat here whenever I am in town and highly recommend it to everyone."

"Our friends visiting from LA were extremely impressed with the food and the atomsphere. We had the lamb shank and ribs. The food was excellent as always. Service was great and our waiter was very attentive."

"This is one of the hidden gems in the burgeoning Livermore restaurant scene. Outstanding steakhouse with a Mexican twist to how they prepare their entrees and appetizers. This is authentic food direct from Guadalajara, not your standard Mexican fare. Best margaritas in town and a very hip bar scene. Try El Sacromonte, you will not be disappointed."

"It was disappointing. They have a menu you can check on their website which is notThe same one once to eat there. Service was mediocre, having to ask for things several times to the point of getting up and get them ourselves!Lunch consisted of mostly sandwiches which you would never find on a "gourmet Mexican restaurant".Mos of the restaurants were packed on a lunch time on Saturday. We made reservations to find a completely empty restaurant!Never again."

"The food was very good. The service a little slow, and slightly deficient. No offer of after-dinner coffee, for instance. But the waiters were polite. As the evening went on, it got noisier and noisier - it's a barn of a place with a high ceiling."

"El Sacromonte is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I love sitting outdoors on the streets of Livermore, people watching and, from time to time, vintage cars rolling by. That happened to be the case when we visited two nights ago. It was a warm evening and the people were out on the streets, shopping and dining, and at the same time a number of vintage cars were driving by.
My wife and I tried the Tres Salsa Steak which gives you the option of different types of steaks, along with three different sauces. I had the ribeye steak while my wife had the filet mignon. Both were tender and tasty and the accompanying sauces just added to the overall experience. We also tried the Roquefort soup, which is a must-have."

"Overall theme of the restaurant is confusing. The "about" on the front page references a neighborhood in Grenada, Spain. The menu items seem to be a confused and failed attempt at a fusion of Mexican, South American, and Spanish foods. I ordered the Al Tequila Filet. I ordered it medium and it was well done, cold, and tough. Another person at the table ordered the Ribeye Three Salsas. It was an extremely fatty piece of meat, which was also cold. The empanadas we ordered as an appetizer were the only decent part of the meal. The service was poor. We were served our food and then didn't see our waiter for 45 minutes when we had to call him to the table to get our check."

"Ceviche over marinated, chalky and very little fish mostly melon. Ceasar salads came out with no dressing everyone at my table had to ask for dressing. Filet medallions were small portion size advertised as a 10 oz, not 10 oz. Quality of meat was lacking, gamey tasting and not tender for a filet, came out well done and sent back returned med-rare and smaller portion? Chicken Mole sauce was good very authentic, chicken was dry and over cooked. Halibut was good good portion but very salty. After intitial drinks and service, never asked how the re-cooked dinner was or how everything was going for that matter, if we wanted another drink. The ambiance, bar and atmosphere are nice but if you want to charge upscale pricing you have to bring it!"

"Overall, very pleased with our first time at El Sacromonte. Service friendly, efficient and responsive. Not what you expect forma "Mexican" resturant, but very good. Our party of 8 was very happy. Steaks all done perfectly, but wish the sauces were more distinctive and more flavorful. Shrimp was good size, but overcooked, they were tough. Yes, would return again."

"We went here for a local valentine's day dinner and were extremely disappointed. The place was beyond packed and it was such a small space that we could barely hear ourselves think. We ordered the prix fixe menu, although we were not in the mood for a multi-course dinner. We found out after that we could have ordered off of the regular menu, and right after we ordered we asked the waiter if we could change our order and he flat out said No. Regularly this would be okay but it took exactly one hour to get our first course: salad and soup. What a joke. We then got our food, and the chicken was burnt and WAY overcooked. The desert was also a burnt chocolate cake. It took two and a half hours to get through this terrible meal."

"It was Valentine's and a fixed menu. The food was so so. I had to send the pork chops back as they were way over done. I would like to go back to order off the regular menu as it looked very interesting."

"We went out to celebrate my husband's birthday on a Sunday night. It was very crowded with a large party in addition to at least 10 other full tables. There was only one waiter and one busboy most of the time we were there, and they did a fantastic job. The waiter even worked behind the bar making drinks. The presentation is wonderful. I especially liked the tortilla soup presentation, where they pour the soup in the bowl in front of you, so the tortilla strips don't get soggy. I'd definitely go back."

"Margaritas, salad, soup, were very good. The entrees were terrible, we did not eat.I would consider dropping by for drinks and appetitizers, but not dinner. Also, menu is a little limited. With all the local competition, I am surprised they are still in business. It has to be a struggle, and without major changes, it will not get any better."

"I was entertaining clients so we had a group of 8- have been before when not so crowded. Was difficult to have conversations among table of 8 - so would not recommend for large groups on a weekend night! Food was great, service impeccable!"

"The food was interesting. There was something good and interesting for everyone, including a vegetarian, a couple of meat lovers, a gluten intolerant diner, and a dieter. Rather expensive."
