"I have always eaten my steaks well-done. RC's is the ONLY restaurant who cooks it to perfection ! Moist, tender, flavorful yum! Can't wait until my birthday to go again. My waiter Steve, wow! He made us feet appreciated. Not easy to find in restaurants nowadays, especially on a high traffic day like Mothers Day. Ruth Chris is My Choice!"

"Does anything served on a hot plate in a puddle of sizzling garlic butter taste 'just average'? No! I opted for a Ruth's Classic -- a multi-course dinner w/your choice of a few set starters, sides, entrees and a set dessert. My soup was tomato crab bisque and it was divine. I could probably drink that w/a straw every day.
My entree was a surf and turf combo - filet w/small half lobster tail, a seared scallop and several grilled shrimp. The main attraction was perfectly cooked and so tender and moist, it melted like a snowflake on my tongue. The flavor of the meat was exceptional - maybe the garlic butter treatment?
Service was very good, and everything was timed/paced very well. My only regret is that I didn't wear my stretchy pants."

The sides were very ordinary (potatoes not even cooked through with cheese slapped on top is not worth eight bucks - nor is a tomato with sugar on top thrown under the broiler. "Very Good Food. Good Service. What more can I say? My husband and I both had the special- for $53 dollars you get a soup or salad, steak, individual side and dessert. We both chose the smaller 12 oz ribeye (and it was nice and tender and marbled), mashed potatoes and we split a side of creamed spinach. Our friends got the salmon and the petite filet with shrimp, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. My only warning is the petite filet special with shrimp is really small- but it does say it is only 6 oz on the menu and there is only like 3 shrimp that come with it. So I think our 1 friend should have gotten the ribeye. ;). Dessert was a chocolate cheesecake. Drinks were good and NOT watered down. Good dinner. :)"

"For that special occasion each year – a birthday – we go to the one and only steakhouse. This year for the first time Ruth's Chris Steak House - Chicago was a disappointment. The service was fine, the ambience was good. The steak – the focus of our coming was not up to Ruth's Chris standards. The ribeye I ordered was full of cartledge – and I mean full. It was replaced but there were still cartledge. The bone-in-steak that my son ordered – was not cooked his temperature – never had that happen before at Ruth's Chris and it was excessively fatty – a couple of big untrimmed hunks of fat. This experience put Ruth's Chris – at least the Chicago expression of it – in a category with the ordinary steakhouse – Flemings, Morton’s. I never thought I"

"Sat upstairs which was very quiet , served by 4 different waiters which always annoys me especially if one comes to you initially and says "I am your waiter for the night" Steak was good. Have to pay for sides separately. Not a cheap meal: 200 GBP for a set meal plus a bottle of wine. Wine is expensive: Cheapest bottle was $49 which we found in the supermarket for $12 the next day."

"I've dined here perhaps 10 times over the last 15 years. The food is consistently wonderful. I know some foodies will complain that the presentation is unexciting or the atmosphere is not jumping or the menu is not dynamic or its a chain. Whatever. When you want a flawless steak, Ruth's is still among the three best in Chicago. I care mainly about the food and service. My filet was perfect, as always, and the butter gives it so much flavor. The potatoes au gratin and steamed broccoli were great. The side salad was simple, which I prefer. The bread was old school Italian loaf, which again, simple is sometimes better."

"As usual, the food was wonderful, particularly the lamb chops. The service during our most recent visit was very much out of character for Ruth's Chris, and we dine there and other Ruth's locations nationwide at least four times per year. The service was slow and inattentive, resulting in 15 to 20 minute waits between drink orders, refill requests, course delivery, etc. While we wanted dessert, we decided against it figuring it would take at least another 45 minutes to get that ordered and to the table. The restaurant was not overcrowded and was adequately staffed, and so the issue appeared to be server specific. We love Ruth's Chris and will be back; just surprised at the service level during our last visit."

"My favorite steakhouse by far. Food, and service is always excellent. I consider Ruth's as fine dinning, just wish other patrons would also and make an effort to dress for a nice night out, perhaps my standards are higher. Nevertheless I'm always satisfied with the food."

"We ordered the NY Strip and it was cooked to perfection. Salad was good although the selection could be updated away from too many iceberg lettuce choices. If I'd eaten the meal they were trying to encourage me to order, I'd have consumed 2,000 calories, easy.Good wine list also with some reasonably priced selections. Overall, not a bad value, considering the location."

outstanding, but not here. I have had better steaks at Outback Steak House. My steak was burnt and I asked for it to be cooked medium. My baked potato was below average. Once
again, I have had a better baked potato at Outback for not nearly the price. For the
cost of Dining at Ruth Chris, I expected much better. Again, very disappointed and will
not be going back to the River North Ruth Chris."

"I heard a lot about Ruth Chris, and it was highly recommended by friends, unfortunately, I was highly disappointed in my visit of the restaurant. Our waiter was great, an the food was good, but everything else was below par. We waited 25 mins past our reservation time to get seated. The whole restaurant including the waiting area was over crowded, and loud. I was hoping for a nice romantic evening with my wife for her birthday, and considering the amount we spent $200 for dinner for 2, I was not at all impressed. Maybe I was just expecting too much going in. To makes matters worse, the valet had trouble finding my keys, and we had to wait almost 35 mins extra. It wasn't a good night for them."

"This location definitely needs to expand its lobby as guests wait. Despite my reservation at 8:45 PM, we had to wait an additional 45 minutes before we were seated. It was crowded and very uncomfortable. The attendant at the front was somewhat rude as if we didn't make reservations as well. Good food, but we will not be returning to this location. We'll make our way to the suburbs."

"Our first visit was awesome. Our server was Mike and he was great! Our food was cooked to perfection and we really enjoyed our dining experience (please note that we dine at Ruth's Chris about 7 times a year). Our steaks were cooked perfectly.
