"The whole experience was awesome. My wife and I were celebrating our wedding Anniversary. We got Menus with our names on it, They took our Picture and framed it, and gave us a complementary free dessert. Our waitress Jennifer was really awesome as well. All in all it was a one of the best dining experiences ever."

"A group of us went here for my husbands birthday dinner and it was hands down, the best birthday dinner ever. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. When I made the reservations, I noted that it was for a birthday. When they sat us at our table, they had printed "Happy Birthday" on all our menus and decorated our table with "Happy Birthday" confetti.
The attention to detail was very much appreciated.
Everything about our dinner was awesome. We can't wait to go back again."

"This was our second time at the SJ Morton's. We all thought the first time was better in every way. The most noticeable was the quality of the food seemed to have diminished greatly. On a positive note, the Shrimp Alexander were very tasty, meaty and delicious. Unfortunately, the Filet Mignon and the accompanying sauces were bland and not very tasty. The roasted Brussel Sprouts seemed more blanched/steamed but without the "roasting" that was promised. The Chocolate Mousse and Creme Brulee desserts were good but the Lemon Souffle did not resemble any souffle I've had...disappointing.
There are too many other steak houses in the area that are good for us to return to Morton's again."

"Loved coming to this Morton's for special events (anniversary, b-days, etc.) After our Mothers day dinner, this will be our last visit. Party of 6 (4 Adults 2 kids). We were seated in the back corner with two four top tables put together. This caused a large uneven surface where the tables met. Busboy put the wine I brought on the seam and down goes the wine, luckily I was able to catch it with minimal spillage. Our waitress was terrible, in fact, she was non-existent, waited 20+ minutes for her to clear our plates. Long time to order, then get our food then it came out in spurts, main dishes, then over the next 5 min our sides started to show up. One steak over cooked sides were bland. Not what you expect for a 500$ meal."

"My Wife and I enjoyed Morton's Mom's Day Special, but service was REAL slow. The Lobster Bisque, Filet Mignon, and Grand Marnier Souffle were excellent. The wait staff were very attentive, but the food delivery was VERY slow. 15 to 20 minute wait for each course to arrive. They were very bust at the 7:30PM hour and the food was served hot and good, just more time was spent there than we had anticipated. I HIGHLY recommend Morton's for their excellent menu."

"I had the Bone in T-Bone 16 oz with a Baked potato and i was amazing. The bread was great, i believe it was an Onion loaf of some kind but do not eat all of that bread (if you can) Wine list was extensive. I had the Molten Chocolate cake for dessert and i was so full. Food was delicious. My girl friend had the Filet Mignon 6 oz i believe Asparagus shrimp and Scallops. Her meal was also perfect. over all i would definitely recommend this restaurant but do not expect exceptional service. The noise level was something above enjoyable. Oh and the oysters were really good as well."

"Hostess service was friendly and efficient, we were greeted well and seated quickly. Table service was average, she was friendly enough, but seemed indifferent in attitude and was hard to locate when we needed something. The drinks were excellent, good variety and taste, the food was very good and came in healthy portions - creamed spinach is a great side. Dessert was Morton's chocolate cake - quite good."

"We always celebrate our anniversary at Morton, it has been almost 5 years now, and the last one we brought out kids age 6 and 7 because we cant find Nanny at that time, we thought it will be disaster with the kids over there but it turned out , my boys like it and Morton also give them a good service. "Service was poor; it took us about 20 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order. Then we received our steaks (we both ordered the 6oz filet). They both looked more like a skirt steak, about 5/8" of an inch thick, certainly not what im used to in a filet.
we both ordered them medium rare. my wifes came out medium, close enough, mine came out a crispy well done. I sent mine back, and they were very nice about it. My replacement DID look like a normal filet, nice and thick, and grilled properly.
my wife believed the reason service was poor was that we showed the waitress our coupon from BMW for a prix fixe menu when we arrived. I believe they were just sloppy.
There are many better steak houses in the bay area."

I ordered a bone-in rib eye med-rare "pittsburgh style" and when it came, it was nicely charred on the outside, but dry and medium in the middle. I do understand the conflict of char outside but red center inside, my fault.
Also, the fillet my son ordered had silverskin on it."

"If you want a great (or good) steak, DO NOT GO TO MORTON's! We once loved dining at Morton's. However, it seems that since they were bought by the Landry group, everything great about Morton's has disappeared. The last 3-4 times we've gone to Morton's (multiple locations) it's been very disappointing.

"This is my third time. I request a nice spot for business meeting and got a spot next to the kitchen which was noisy. Service was slow, but polite. Expensive bill for what you get. This has been the worst service I have experianced. Will not go again, if I pay good money I expect the best. The managment needs to get their act together."

"we were 2nd reservation seated on Sat.@5:30, put way in back section. Good:Red Velvet Cocktail &an energetic server to bring more as needed. Mushroom side dish tasty&served at correct temp. BAD:Oysters Rockefeller lukewarm.Onion Soup lukewarm.Entrees came 90 mins after being seated.Rib steak(ordered rare)undercooked with the marbling still hard white fat & even the outside was cold to the touch(Steak tartar by accident?) Horseradish potatoes had good flavor but lukewarm.Hubby's med rare Filet was cool to touch & not even in the rare category. Server asked how it was(we weren't eating)Told her the food was lukewarm &she said I'm sorry. Us too. Souffle undercooked mostly not edible.Took steak home&finished cooking. not sure if we'll try again"

"Our fear of what was going to happen to a 'Top-Notch' restaurant has apparently happened. Morton's was a premier restaurant in every way until they were purchased by Landry's. They are now merely an extremely overpriced mediocre restaurant. The quality of their steaks are no where near what they were a year ago. The service remains outstanding but I sense that it will only be a matter of time until it is reduced to what you would expect from a mediocre restaurant. The ambiance remains very nice but I understand they are preparing for a 'remodel'. How sad!
I doubt we will return for another visit to Morton's. :("

"One of our favorite places to go, however it takes very long to get your food. It took an hour for us to get our main course. I do not recommend this place for kids. I also recommend only coming for special occasions, since it is extremely expensive."

"It's nice having a "landmark" restaurant in downtown San Jose like this. The main dining room was a rather loud making it difficult to hear everyone at our table for 7. The side dishes and desserts were VERY good. But, the steaks and king crab were average. But, I must say, the steaks were cooked to absolute Perfection for everyone in our group. I've never seen a steakhouse cook everyone's dinner to their exact "order" and expectation. All in all, it's a great place for a special dinner, but be prepared to empty your wallet."

"The food was excellent. Had the Bone in Ribeye and my wife had the filet. Both were cooked to perfection and very flavorful. It was a little loud for the nice romantic evening that I had planned. Other than that Morton's is always a good choice."

"The bar is great and so is the main dining area. It is more up-scale for those interested. Most people are dressed nicely and there are little to no kids dining with family. The staff is very professional, prompt, and attentive to detail.
The food was very well prepared. Although, I had the Chicago ribeye, and even though it was cooked perfectly, I found it lacked flavor. I do not know if this is a Chicago thing, but I guess I am more use to Western style with lots of pepper and other spices. Also, I usually can tell a steak has been marinated in similar spices.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy a romantic night out.
Oh, the bread is freshly baked and is one big role with baked slivers of oni"

"The restaurant accidentally cancelled our reservation, even though they e-mailed me & called me on the same day as our reservation. I told them we would be there. The lady at the desk made an excuse that they were very busy, but never really apologized. She gave us a very small table & acted like she did us a favor. Food was great, but we won't be going back ! We can get steak anywhere ! When you charge as much as this restaurant does, you need to treat people right. Our waitress was great by the way."

"We had reservations at 10pm and wasn't seated until 10:45pm.
When we were seated, it took awhile for them to give us water and the bread. When we got the bread, it was cold. I noticed that there was a stain on my appetizer plate, and told the hostess that walked by. She apologized and gave me a new plate. I ordered a medium rare Filet Mignon and when the steak came, it was cold. The inside of it was cold.
The service was really slow!
I would not recommend this place to any one."

Best in USA --1st Palm #1, 2nd Peter Lugers,3rd Smith and Wollensky, 4th Mortons, 5th (SF) Boboquivaris or Bobo's.......Perhaps "Medallion Steakhouse" in Milbrae. Cow is good!!!!!"
