"Towne Food & Drink" is proud to offer Classic American cuisine with Modern World comforts, in a luxurious setting on the ground floor of Downtown LA's Watermarke Tower. The restaurant, owned by Armen Shirvanian of beloved "Mi Piace" in Pasadena, Towne features inventive, New American cuisine, a whimsical take on all-American desserts, and playful, modern cocktails, all under one roof. "I have given this spot a few tries for lunch, and it has been hit and miss. The service is good to fair, as sometimes they forget about you when it's busy. I do recommend the lobster salad---that is the only thing I will order from here in the future."

"I like to go to Towne for brunch, but the dinner food is too artsy fartsy for my blue collar taste, so I don't have dinner there often. I
am not too happy with the current trend towards bone marrow, sliders, etc. I would certainly recommend it highly for a Foodie, because I think the food is probably really great, and I am just a hick. Service is wonderful, and ambiance fine, and they are very welcoming to a single older woman reading a book, for which I give them high points. I should add, in case that last sentence scares any Foodies, that most of the patrons were considerably younger, and quite hip."

"Food was very good...service was very good...but nothing makes this place memorable or a standout. Restaurant space was way too large and brightly lit - lacked any "vibe" or "ambience". The cold cavernous restaurant makes it a good place for a business meal - but not a place to meet up with friends. The bar area looked warmer, more inviting - but alas, with so many great options in LA - and the abundance of cool spots now in downtown LA, not likely to visit this Towne again."

"Let's just list some facts.
Valentines Day
- We were sat at the corner of a table for 8 in the middle of the dining room.
- The places were set without forks.
- Our drinks came after our appetizers.
- We were served soup without spoons.
- The prix fixe options weren't representative of their normal menu, basic preparations of chicken, steak, or fish.
- We weren't given new forks with the entree, good thing there were 6 other place settings at the table for us to choose from.
- We ordered Halibut and got Salmon.
- We were sat at the corner of a table for 8 in the middle of the dining room.
- The places were set without forks.
- Our drinks came after our appetizers.
- We were served soup without spoons.
- The prix fixe options weren't representative of their normal menu, basic preparations of chicken, steak, or fish.
- We weren't given new forks with the entree, good thing there were 6 other place settings at the table for us to choose from.
- We ordered Halibut and got Salmon.
Way to make it magical guys..."

"We'd been here before and had a great time with all the creative food offerings they have. We came back for their Valentines Day pre-fixe menu and weren't as pleased. The food was tasty but not as unique as we were hoping.
Most disappointing though was that we ordered the wine-pairings with our meal and didn't get our first wines until our 3rd course arrived. We were given 3 glasses of wines at once to make up for it but that's not how a wine-pairing is supposed to work given each flavor is meant for one stage of the meal. We'll be back but not in a rush.
Our first time here was a 5 star experience, this one was just a 3."

"The food was amazing!! but our server we had to flag down to put in our order and once the food came the server came only once to refill our drinks and he took our glasses and never brought them back. then after 20 min we asked him for our drinks and he brought them out and they were the wrong ones. We then had to ask another waiter for our check."

"Waiter admitted that they were understaffed that night, and it showed. Food and drink both came out very slow. Highly disappointed in the Baby Salad Crudite. We all laughed when it came out. The carrots and radishes were so ridiculously small, that it was comical and worth the price for the laugh, but not if you're looking for food to satisfy an appetite. The Watermelon Salad and Bronzino was delicious as was the burger and brussels sprouts. So at least they somewhat made up for the service with the food.
All in all, pretty disappointed mostly because the service was so slow. 2 Stars, only because the waiter was apologetic, but could've been 1 star if he wasn't."

"The room is well designed for audible conversation. It was a great disappointment, then, to discover that the restaurant has decided to go "rock," blasting music at high volume so as to destroy the favorable acoustics offered by the architecture. Lunch at this location should be for business, not clubbing."

"The location is convenient for business lunches and the service is very good from the reception to table side. I have only dined in at lunch and while the flavor is good, the ingredients of high quality, the portions have left me hungry both times. Key menu items are very light in filling, and size. In fairness, abundant in flavor, just skimpy. I'll be going elsewhere next time for a little more balance in quantity vs quality."

"Great pre-theater dining. Creative, tasty menu! They just need to hook up w/ the Music Center SHUTTLE free service and get on the Center Theater Group brochure for next season and they would fil up for early dinner seating on weekends. Michael's a wonderful attentive, knowledgeable waiter! I miss the ambiance and visual decor and taste of the pastry chef's special colorful display. The coffee mugs lowers the ambiance to Dupar's Coffee shop level. Please bring back the pastry chef,even in limited quantity! It was very unique and attractive. It made me feel like a kid in a candy store."

"I want to love this place, but there service is always slow. I appreciate taking time with a meal, but not everyone out to lunch is on unlimited time; I dare say most people in this downtown area have busy schedules. Please take and deliver 1st round of drinks quickly and follow up quickly. The same goes for happy hour or dinner. Unfortunately, waiting for a check can turn a lovely experience into a more tension-filled one. Good food, pleasant servers, pleasant environment. Please just learn to more aptly read the needs of the guests at your tables."

"We enjoyed our night out with our friends, which was the main point of the evening. Most of the food we ordered was delicious. The pork shank had amazing flavors, and was so tender. The beef cheek pot roast was also a great choice with the root vegetables. It was a LOT smaller than I thought, but cute presentation with the popover. The rib eye steak was tender, but it was definitely not worth the $48. It was thin & slightly burnt on top; more like a $28 steak. After some issues, manager was kind enough to come to our table: kudos to the recovery effort! Looks like they shortened their dessert list because there were only three options. Ended up walking down the street to another restaurant for dessert."

"A group of us went out for a co-worker's birthday lunch. The food selection was a bit eclectic but everything was very tasty. Love the fresh pretzel bread given as we waited for our food and the desserts were terrific too! The restaurant itself was beautiful with high ceilings and lots of windows providing tons of natural light. Since it was lunchtime, it wasn't terribly busy so the noise level was low. The host that seated us and wait staff were very friendly but upon exit it would have been nice to be acknowledged as there were two hosts at the podium. Overall, everyone enjoyed it!"

"It was my firt time dining here. I took a group of co-workers to celebate a bday lunch. I had the cobb and must say had a hard time finding the fish. One of my co-workers ordered the Salmon sandwich and found two bones in his fish. One he caught, the other he swallowed.
Would give it a second chance but not soon."
