"Service was above Outstanding, the servers had an exceptional knowledge of the menu and the restaurant itself. And there isn't much more I could say about the food than it was the best meal I have ever had. And that sentiment was shared between the other two of my guests that attended with me. I also loved how everything was made in house. Including the pop! When tasting different pops is entertaining on its own right, you know you are at a place for foodies."

"The restaurant has great ambience and an old-world feel. The menu is small and definitely eclectic with a seafood oriention. However, don't let that deter you as our meals were absolutely delicious - of note was the melt in your mouth pork belly entre. Service was fun and attentive. Overall, great experience. It was also a treat to see Chuck working at the restaurant. Well done. I would definitely come back and recommend to colleagues and friends alike. Cheers."

"Le Bremner is a great place to go to. Well situated in Old Montreal, the service is very good. By very good, I mean a waiter that knows the menu well, comes often enough, but not too often. Our waiter, came by frequently enough to fill our water, ask if we needed another drink. It was beautifully timed.
The food came out at a good pace, and was well staggered. The food was also exceptionally well done. My wife is pregnant, and they were able to cook her fish well enough, but not overdo it. She was very pleased with that.
It's well worth the money and try the cocktails! They make great cocktails."

"I was at Le Bremner the evening of 4 May. There is no sign outside, so it's hard to find. The first impression was an overwhelming fishy odour -- not a good sign at a seafood place, where everything should be super fresh. I rated the service only fair because they were continually at the table -- no alone time. The food was very good, and well presented. But the noise was awful! The music was far too loud and then people were shouting to be heard over it. Maybe that's ok for a younger crowd, but the prices are more suited for an older crowd. The noise means that this is definitely *not* a place for a romantic dinner. I would recommend it to a foodie friend who is a fan of chef Chuck, but I would not go back unless they turned the sound down"

"Planned a trip to Old Montreal to check out Le Bremner as I am a Chuck Hughes fan. The food was fantastic - as was expected, but the service exceeded expectation.
At some high end, foodie establishments the staff is stuck up and act as if they're doing you a favour. Everyone at Le Bremner was so down to earth, and super friendly. You didn't feel like they had to rush off to another table or stopped by as a formality. They actually wanted to make sure everything was okay and that we were satisfied - from entry into restaurant to paying the bill. Nice."

"If you are looking for a trendy place to spend money on appearences that's the place. If you are looking for a good restaurant in Montreal there are tons of other places to go let me assure. We booked the Bremner hoping for a culinary experience... let's say the experience was more visual than gastronomic. The place itself is beautiful, located in a cellar in the Old Montreal. The menu interesting based on what is available on the market (seafood) but the price exagerated considering the food was just ok. The clientele was composed of business men, rich tourist staying in the Old Montreal and nightclubers. The service was fine, polite and cold, slightly lofty, atuned with the clientele. In short it was kind of disapointing..."

"The menu was fit for foodies, with a limited selection of unorthodox meat and fish dishes. The oysters were fresh and expertly shucked, and the appetizers appreciated by our party of four. Three of the four mains were great, but one missed the mark. The salmon with crab bearnaise sauce. The salmon was cooked to perfection (seared crisp on the surface, moist with a hint of translucency in the middle, but the dish was ruined by an almost inedible saltiness. The dish was generously sprinkled with small squares of pork and the salinity was unbearable. We're not old codgers, but the blaring music with f-bombs and N-words left us hoarse from yelling, and the beer list had only two options, both too strong to pair with the food."

"This is a must for foodies. The place is dim lit, the music is just loud enough to carry your conversation on the beat, and the food is an experience on its own. Explosion of flavours in each bite. Priced right for this kind of restaurant. Sit at the bar for a personalized experience with the bartenders. A must!"

"The service was beyond exceptional. Probably the best service that we have ever experienced. The food and the drinks were also some of the best in the city. Much has been made of other restaurants but I have been here twice with out of town guests and in both cases it over delivered."

"The food was delicious, the service was very attentive, but the wait for our meal was excruciating. We got our meals an hour and a half after we sat down. Luckily we had stopped or appetizers earlier or else we probably would have left. Once our dinners were finished, our desert came out within 5 minutes. Not sure what the hold up was with the mains but it was the only dark spot of the entire experience."

"Firstly, my reservation for 9:30 was not respected.. I was only seated by 10pm.. Secondly the main dish of salmon was not available on the menu along with some other items. The people on our left and right were eating te salmon which my Girlfriend wanted.. Lastly our waiter was no so clear when speaking, I needed to ask him to repeat several times. Overall not impressed and quite irritated with the pricing and the level of quality."

"I was originally drawn to Le Bremner for the celebrity chef Chick Hughes and his chef de Cuisine Danny. The food was excellent... I can't rave enough about it. As we we heading out for drinks afterward... It probably was not the best place to "coat the stomach" because of it small sized portions but a perfect date night, or dinner with friends would have been ideal. The flavours were outstanding and te ambiance was incredible. We would definitely go back to Le Bremner, maybe just not before a night on the town. Ps.. Try the pancakes, they will change your life."

"We traveled to Montreal from Barrie, Ontario with one purpose in mind, which was to eat at Chef Chuck's restaurant. It was a super wonderful experience. We sat at the bar and Christina, the bartender, was awesome! Best service we ever experienced. And the food was very delicious. We will definitely visit again next time we go to Montreal."

"Magical!! My husband and I dined at Le Bremner on Friday, April 12, 2013, during our first time visit to Montreal. Love Chuck and his program! Loved his food and beautiful dining spot even more. Our server Olivia was fabulous: articulate, passionate about food and wine, and most courteous. I only wish we could dine at Le Bremner again this Friday night!"

"My husband and I celebrated our 33rd anniversary at LeBremner last Friday with our son and his girlfriend. We let ourselves go and tried a bit of everything and were wowed with every bite! Our waitress, Christina, was wonderful! She knew her menu well and she has clearly mastered the art of making her guests feel special, from quietly refilling glasses to joining in on the conversation, she played an integral part in making our night brilliant! I cannot wait to go again!"

"I took my husband there for his birthday and we loved it. Everything was fresh and the white fish tartar was delicious. It was definitely one of the best dinning experience. The salmon was amazing, the sauce and the roasted almond slices really complimented the texture of the salmon. Their homemade sodas were very good, we took the cocktail of the day. Wow. I normally hate cream soda but I loved it there. Chuck was there and we got to talk to him and he is so friendly. His staff provided superb service and you can tell that they really care about the food and the service. We will definitely go back!"

"Beautiful restaurant!! Dimly lit and very sexy vibe, but rustic and fun at the same time. Our server was very personable and we loved chatting with her. The food was top notch - best I had during my whole trip in Montreal! We ordered the braised cotopus with veal cheeks and the pork belly. Both were phenominal. We also started with oysters and sea urchin which were both fresh and amazing. We finished with the chocolate pot de creme with peanut butter cream garnish. It was the best dessert Ive ever had - so simple but completely amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, it's worth it!"

"We went there for a special occasion. We ordered a Maple Sizzurp, which was one of the best things I've ever had. Then lobster cocktail with a sauce Louis which was tame for us. Salmon with crab bernaise was perfectly cooked, lobster pizza was great but by no means a healthier option (lots of grease & cheese - which was great if you're looking for that). Also, the pork belly with Brie was tasty and nicely prepared. Chocolate mousse was very small, but oh so enjoyable. Waiter brought over a huge candle for our birthday girl - he was very cute and perfectly attentive. If you're smart, you'll buy a bottle or two of their hot sauce before heading home."

"The food is always excellent. The only thing is watch out if there is something you can't eat because the menu is not very descriptive. We ordered salmon and crab and discovered after a little while there were small pieces of bacon on top but it didnt specify in the menu and we dont eat porc...BUT doesnt take away the fact that its my favorite restaurant and the food is alwayd outstanding ! The oysters are also a must! So fresh!"

"The food was good, but as a vegetarian, I was not impressed with the selection. I was especially disappointed when my waiter informed me that all I had to chose from were the 2 appetizers from the menu (for my entire meal), as it was Saturday and the chef could not accommodate any special requests. What's the point of a restaurant having a chef if he can't handle any requests - they might as well just have a cook in the kitchen."

"Le Bremner was one of the most outstanding dining experiences I have ever had. Every dish was pure perfection. From the must-have oysters, the perfectly prepared tuna sashimi, the unmatched lobster pizza to the outstanding main courses, the delectable dessert pancakes (which left us speechless) to the house cocktails, I was beyond impressed. The staff was phenomenal, incredible service, loved the coziness of the ambiance, right down to the music which made me feel right at home. Being owned by a celebrity chef I was expecting a certain level of pretention but Le Bremner is anything but. I would not change one thing."

"Although very small and almost unnoticeable from the street, one should not expect it to be quiet and for romantic dinners. As a matter-of-fact, became too loud at one point that our small group had to shout to be heard. Service was adequate, food was good, simple and nothing fancy. Most memorable part: the deserts!"
