Il Fresco
Constructed in 1728 and beautifully restored, this quaint Hudson Valley farmhouse is family owned and operated. Located just 30 minutes from Manhattan and moments from Bergen County and Westchester, this historic Rockland County restaurant is home to freshly prepared Italian fare. The space boasts six intimate candlelit dining areas as well as serene seasonal outdoor dining. The Sage, Savory, Sassafras and Saffron Rooms are all unique in their own way. The antique stone Wine Cellar is perfect for a romantic dining experience near one of our fireplaces. Il Fresco's menu is all prepared fresh when ordered. The wine list features Italian and American selections carefully selected to reflect the wide range of flavors offered from its kitchen. The Sorrel Bar is a festive dining space where you can get a firsthand look at our bartenders preparing one of the fifty-two 10 ounce Martinis we have become well known for.

"Family owned and operated. The attentive and friendly servers have been the same for many years. There has never been a dish ordered from their extensive menu that has not been superb. The dessert choices are plentiful and delicious. You are not rushed whatsoever during the whole dining experience. Free and ample parking. This restaurant is a gem nestled in Orangeburg. A warm and charming setting for weekday lunch or dinner (7 days per week). I live out-of-state in Virginia and actually order some entrees for take out whenever I dine there. Their cooking reminds me of my late Sicilian mother-in-law's cooking. My memory of her culinary talents live on at Il Fresco. You are cheating your taste buds if you don't dine at Il Fresco."

"If you are in the Nyack area of NY this is a great place to have found for dinner. They have an extensive list of cocktails, as well as wines to try. The menu had a good selection. I chose the Pollo Fiorantino, chicken wrapped in prosciutto with mushrooms, which was great. The lobster tail was large and delicious, as well as ravioli, both of which my party had ordered this night.
Overall great food. What lacked was service could have been more lively. I didn't feel the restaurant had any personality either - mostly quiet people minding their own business. It made a great romantic spot for smaller parties. Larger parties may upset other patrons."

It was Mothers Day. I expected the hostesses to be more welcoming, and they were not.
We were seated, and waited over 10 minutes before a waiter came to the table... And that was after asking one of the 2 hostesses to send him over. Initially, he said , "ok what're we drinking ", no name, no hello, no welcome. He was pleasant after that.
The restaurant was crowded, but this is nothing new for this place... So, no excuses for poor service.
Will rethink the choice of restaurant next time. Not what I expected for my mom on Mothers Day!!

"The food is excellent but ambiance left a lot to be desired. My friend and I were sat at a tight small table then right next to us a family with two teenagers. They were loud but the boy kept burpbing and the mother dropped the "f" word out of frustration. The while experience was mediocre at best and not one I'm likely to repeat."

"This was my 4th time going to Il Fresco. Every time I go I'm also impressed by the service and ambiance. Good for a group of 10 or an intimate dinner for 2. Very friendly staff, and great food. The best section of the restaurant is the room by the fire place in my opinion. I recently sat by the kitchen and the waiters going in and out of the curtain was sort of inconvenient next to our table. Other than that we had a great time with friends."

". Charming old farmhouse restaurant, warm and friendly atmosphere. Terrific Martinis, large wine list and wonderful Italian food served by an attentive staff. Service is never rushed, dinner is enjoyed in rooms of varying sizes, so noise levels are minimized and intimate conversations can be had. "This restaurant is off the beaten path and even difficult for my GPS to find but worth it. The menu is fairly large with something for everyone. I went on a Monday and several item menus of interest were not available as they had not restocked from the weekend which was disappointing. But I was satisfied nonetheless."

"The vibe was fantastic. A former farmhouse with tons of charm and great food...why did it take me so long to find this place?! Make sure to get the cannoli ice cream. I'm a dessert fiend and its among the best ice creams I've ever had. Fig/goat cheese/prosciutto crostini as an appetizer is good but small. Make sure to take the mint leaf out (too overpowering with it in but you still get the mint taste once removed). Chicken park is fantastic. Even my chicken parm snob boyfriend was impressed. Cheese tortellini with cream sauce and prosciutto & peas was tasty too. Great wine list by the glass. Delicious espresso after dinner. The waitstaff even let us take over the TV to watch the masters. Il Fresco is my new go to restaurant!!"

"We ate upstairs which was the perfect cozy atmosphere for two couples aimed at catching up. There was a buzz but it was pleasant and did not interfere with conversation. The stracciatella soup was to die for as was the veal saltimbocca. Desert was decent but nothing outstanding. While the waiter fogot my soup order, one of the owners came up to bring it, appropriately apologetic. He was so nice and funny that any frustration was soon forgotten. Overall, a great experience - we will be back!"

"The food was fantastic. We sat in the wine cellar which was small and intimate. There was a fireplace and only about 5 or 6 tables. The service was good for the most part. I would have liked my waiter to come over at least one more time before I finished my meal so I could order another bottle of wine, but I was better off not having it. An after dinner drink was perfect. I would highly recommend Il Fresco and I will certainly return sooner rather than later."

"We chose this restaurant especially for Restaurant Week. The restaurant itself was cute and intimate, but the music was a little much for us. We sat in the wine cellar which only houses four tables. The music was very unpredictable. It ranged from classical to Italian Opera (very fitting) to classic rock, but at various loudness levels which was a little much for the environment. The preset menu had a good variety and the food itself was good. I think our biggest complaint was about our waiter. Though he certainly had good intentions, he was very loud and boderline obnoxious, especially for such a small and intimate setting. The food runners on the other hand were great. Overall, our experience was okay, but i'm not sure if we'll return."

"Old farmhouse with a cozy feel. History of farmhouse written on the menu with invitation to tour the historic rooms. Service excellent as was the food. My friend had salmon, which was served with whipped potatoes and a vegetable medley. I had breaded chicken breast stuffed with spinach and prosciutto and served in a mushroom and marsala sauce. Both were tasty and the portions were ample. Although we didn't drink, the martini list is impressive and creative. I've enjoyed wonderful 'tinis on prior visits. I look forward to my next meal at Il Fresco."

"We visited here for the first time as part of restaurant week. The service was extremely gracious, especially so since we were seated for 45 minutes before the last member of our party arrived. I thought the menu choices were very good. The food was delicious and very flavorful.

"Il Fresco was the perfect venue for a romantic dinner celebrating my boyfriend's birthday. I enjoyed the cold crabmeat cocktail served in a martini glass accompanied by a dijon dipping sauce. My entree was the rigatoni bolognese whose sauce was perfect! My boyfriend enjoyed the crostini with gorgonzola, prosciutto, and fig reduction, followed by a main course of pork chops with apple/raisin glaze. The food was delicious and well-presented. The servers were very attentive. At the conclusion of the meal, a surprise plate containing pistachio gelato, with a 'Happy Birthday' message was brought to our table. We will be back soon to enjoy another special dinner at Il Fresco."

"The restaurant is very nice, cozy romantic atmosphere. I had one of the specials and was a bit disappointed. The chicken was over cooked and lacked flavor. My husband ordered off of the regular menu and was very pleased. The dessert was very good as well."
