Social dining - spending time with friends and family - is what Gyu-Kaku (GEW-KAH-KOO) is all about. Gyu-Kaku offers the fun of ‘shared plates,’ inspiring laughter, conversation, and good times. You can’t help it – with a personal grill installed at every table, everyone instantly becomes an expert cook. The staff at Gyu-Kaku are friendly, leading you through the night with helpful suggestions. The sounds around you are of parties and laughter - the perfect choice for first dates, families, and catching up with friends. Gyu-Kaku, meaning "Horn of the Bull" in Japanese provides the authentic Japanese Yakiniku (barbeque) dining experience where our customers share premium cooked meats over a flaming charcoal grill while sipping on Japanese Sake, Shochu and frosty cold beers.
"This was the second time that I've made a reservation and got there on time and the had to wait 20 minutes for a table. On busy nights, they're not very responsible with their bookings."

"Everything we had was delicious. Mostly picked the restaurant recommended items on menu. Best of all, food cooked at your own table is always hot. Pace yourself! We sat in the small private area at back of restaurant -- Great Mother's Day!"

"Though this place isn't as stellar as it used to be, it is still enjoyable. The food is quite good, though a bit uneven. The dishes don't always come out at a consistent quality."

"Saturday, early evening. The place was packed - duh, it was happy hour. We did get seated about 15-20 minutes after our reservation but considering how busy the place was I was happy to get seated. Our first table looked directly into the kitchen, yuck, they gladly changed it for us no problem. The food was served quickly as they do not have to cook anything, you do the barbecueing. Meats were delicious, I especially loved the duck breast and the shrimp. We also had 3-4 plates of beef which were a little chewy but very tasty. Not a full bar, not much wine. Japanese beers are OK, wish they had a broader selection of beverages to go with the cusine. Will definitely return, will just try to avoid happy hour. No bar and minimal waiting areas."

"We came here to celebrate my parents' wedding anniversary. Our indoor reservations weren't ready, but they were able to seat us outside right away. It was a nice night, so we liked sitting outside better! One of the managers brought us our drinks and then took our order. He was very friendly and talked to us for a while. We were able to order from the happy hour menu, and he gave us tips on how to save more money by checking into Yelp and emailing them. Many different waiters brought us our food. They were prompt at clearing empty dishes from our table. This place can get pricey, but if you use their specials you can get great deals."

"There were 7 in our party to celebrate a birthday. It is a lot of fun to share different dishes and to keep everyone occupied with grilling your own meats and trying different dishes. The service was excellent."

"Each portion of meat is a bit small but with how good the food is, I found my table quickly cluttered with plates. Thankfully, the server was quick to remove the plates every time she stopped by to refill our drinks."

"We have been to Gyu-Kaku many times over the last year. We are members of their frequent dining club and recently received their Gold card. Our original visits were excellent. You couldn't find better service or staff anywhere. The prices during happy hour were reasonable, and the quality and portion sizes were excellent as well. A few months back, about the same time they discontinued the all you can eat menu, my husband and I noticed price increases and smaller portion sizes. Although this is not a deal breaker, the quality of the meats is now suffering. I hope they revert back to quality ingredients and quality service, or I am sad to say this Gyu-Kaku faithful will be going elsewhere."

"Definitely make reservations if you want to come here. All the times that I've been here without a reservation, the wait is usually 45 minutes to an hour and a half...I made reservations 3 days ahead of time and got in as soon as our party arrived."

"After reading the great reviews we tried it on a Friday early evening 2 weeks ago and was really dissappointed...had to wait such a long time for the veggies (at the very end of the meal when all they did for "prepping" was to cut the veggies?) Althought the servers were very nice, it seemed they didn't have any control of the food orders coming out of the kitchen fast enuff. We ordered most, if not all of the Happy Hour specials in 2-3x up front so it shouldn't have been too complicated to provide our orders since we were only FOUR at our table. The most interesting part was the COST of the meal...happy hour prices are good but add up for the (less) quantity of food you're getting. Better to go korean BBQ for the $$$"

"The ambiance is casual, very energetic and friendly. The style of cooking the food is unique in that you cook your own food over a circular grill inset in the center of the table. Our fish came in a foil pouch. The servers give you specific instructions about how many minutes to cook the pouch on each side, and they are very good at helping you with the timing in case you get to talking and forget to turn the pouch! Everything we ordered was fresh and very delicious."

"Food and service were fine. We can recommend the tofu nuggets and spicy tuna volcano. The nuggets are nicely flavored, and come with a spicy mayo-based dip. The spicy tuna volcano are basically fried nuggets of sushi rice topped with spicy tuna. The lychee shochu cocktail was also delicious. My only complaint was they sat us at a table really meant for four, even though there were seven of us. It was a tight fit even without food, and when food started coming we were constantly moving dishes around to accommodate everything. A huge pain."
