"Very nice Caribbean cuisine. Very tasty! The gentleman that greeted us was not as polite. He could be the owner or manager not sure but he need to show a bit more appreciation for the people coming through the door. Great hospitality will keep bringing people back."

"When we first arrived we were greeted with an attitude of irritation.
We made reservations and were told you were full and could only be seated out side.
The portions sizes were so small our entire table left still hungry.
We are not big eaters.

"Food excellent. Service excellent. Been there a few times and for the first time the welcome was not as expected. Had made reservation for 5.30PM, wanted to sit outside. Was told that they could squeeze us outside because of a cancellation. But we could not sit at the table we wanted because we were told all were reserved. Had dinner from 5.30PM to 7.30PM and all tables stay unoccupied!"

"We chose Breadfruit so we could dine close to Phoenix Symphony Hall where we would later attend a concert. We were delighted with our choice. The host was very gracious, giving us a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. We chose outdoor. The server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and made wonderful suggestions. The rum punch and Hemingway daiquiri were both excellent, as were the shrimp appetizer (with feta served on flat bread) and the pork belly entree. We shared a chocolate creme brulee that had us licking the dish. Overall, a lovely experience. We would definitely return."

"We made an effort to arrive during Happy Hour yet, but it was not worth it (only two offerings: rum punch or a glass of house wine). The bar/restaurant has an extensive rum selection. It was, however, so expensive, we decided not to take advantage of it. Overall, the place is expensive but the food we selected had excellent flavors. Do not order pork belly menu items unless you want to eat excessive fat."

"WOW! I would recommend this restaurant whole heartily! There are not an abundance of tables so a reservation is necessary. Listen to the recommendations of the waitstaff from cocktails to dessert. They know their menu intimately and take the time, even when very busy to thoroughly describe each preparation. The mussels were amazing, as was the scallop appetizer. A yummy and delightful experience!"

"They were very friendly and knowledgeable and showed immaculate attention to detail regarding food presentation as well as place setting. The owner seated everyone personally the night we were there and he pulled the chair out for my wife which I really appreciated. The atmosphere was very romantic but remained laid back; not overly fancy. They bring a very unique play at the bar only offering rum ... but there's a significant variety. My wife was pregnant and they accommodated her with a delicious non-alcoholic beverage that she loved! The wait staff was very friendly, knowledgable and everyone seemed to be focused on running the restaurant as a team rather than getting tipped. This place is perfect date night material."

"The bartenders are fun and create some amazing drinks from all different kinds of rum. Each of the suggested appetizers were delicious! We had the catch of the day, Alaskan coho salmon. It was a generous portion and tasted great with the mango chutney. We will definitely be coming back!"

"Everything was great ... until we got the bill -- they had added in gratuity at 24.5%! I've never had gratuity added in for a party of two and definitely never seen it at over 20%. I talked to the manager who tried to explain why they do it and claimed the amount was a mistake but it still left me with a bad impression."
