Juvia
Juvia is a 10,000 square foot indoor/ outdoor restaurant and lounge on the penthouse level of the parking garage by Herzog & de Meuron at 1111 Lincoln Road. Owned and operated by Jonas and Alexandra Millan of Bonito St. Barth, Juvia's dining room features a vertical garden, designed by internationally acclaimed botanist Patrick Blanc, which invokes the lushness of the Amazon rainforest. Chefs are: Laurent Cantineaux, a protege of Daniel Boulud, Sunny Oh, formerly of Nobu South Beach, and pastry Chef Gregory Gourreau, who has worked with Alain Ducasse and Francois Payard. The trio serves a harmonious blend of the regional cuisines of Asia, the vibrant flavors of South America and classic French techniques in the form of ceviches, tiraditos, fresh seafood and prime meats.

"I loved the way the wait staff helped each other out. If one was busy, another would come to make sure all was well with the tables. The food tasted as good as it looked - WHICH WAS FANTASTIC! The portions were perfect. Pricey, yes but definitely worth it. The view of South Beach was amazing."

"Location spectacular, food amazing, service leaves something to be desired, ambiance not relaxing at all. If your looking to take out of towners for an unforgettable experience, Juvia is better in the afternoon. Evening crowd too loud to enjoy conversation. Food a bit pricy but well worth an occasional visit. Not sure that I will be back anytime soon. Will consider for a special occasion in the future."

"Our dinner on Saturday was incredible! The hostess greeted my by name (I've only been there a few times) and took us to a wonderful location on the outdoor terrace. Our waitress was friendly, smart and professional. She know all about everything on the menu and gave us some good advice, when we prompted. He team kept our table clean, our water full, our drinks coming and knew exactly when to take plates from the table. Oh, and I LOVED that before she took an empty cocktail glass from our table, she asked if we were done with it. The food was incredible of course and the complimentary dessert cocktail shot from the manager really made for a memorable night."

"My experience in Juvia was great. Amazing food and atmosphere. However, I must tell that its unbelievable you guys let people smoke outside. It was very unpleasant having an great dinner, with a mix of taste and a fusion asian cuisine breathing smoke from the couple besides me (who smoke more than 10 cigarettes in two hours). I know that you gonna tell me that inside is a smoke free environment, but the most attractive area of the restaurant is outside with the great view of Miami. So, you punished the non-smokers who need to be locked inside while the smokers can have the best spot. I think that all the best restaurants around the world, at least all that I've been, are non-smoke, so Juvia should be like that. Anyway.

"We live in NYC and visited Miami for a long weekend. Juvia is hands down one of the best restaurants we've ever been to. Creative, fresh, amazing food and friendly and professional service. The fish was just perfect. Everything was perfect from appetizer through dessert/coffee. High quality, vibrant flavors and a diverse menu that will force you to come back for more. We will visit Juvia every time we are in Miami. A must for foodies!"

"Beware of their double charges. I went to celebrate my birthday at Juvia two weeks ago with my husband and another couple. We were shocked to find out the next day that they had DOUBLE charge both parties (we spit the bill with our friends), we were charge the our 50% twice to our credit card bill, and our friends were charged the whole entire bill. However the bill they brought us to sign was the correct totals, 50% each. The next day when we both called separately, the host told us that they would only charge us one charge, and there was nothing they could do to credit the second charge, but to wait for 4-5 business days. What was surprising to me was that she knew right away what to say, as this is customary. Not sure of why they do it"

"We have been to Juvia many times, but the last visit was a disappointment. We ordered the entree special, crab. There was very little meat, and the price was almost $60! Definitely not worth it. Plus there was a party of nearly 50 people in the main dining room where we were seating. It made the whole experience less intimate."

"We love, love, loved Juvia. If you want high quality, thoughtfully prepared food in a beautiful setting, this your place. Our group of four tried four of the crudos--all amazing, but the hamachi wih spicy yuzu cream was spectacular--plus entrees, drinks, and split a dessert. I had the special swordfish with tropical salsa and jasmine rice for entree. i know that sounds pedestrian, but it wasn't, because ingredients were so high quality, seasoned perfectly, the fish grilled just right. Tropical "shots" with warm coconut foam were a delight. Other great drinks were the spicy caprihina (sp?) and the "ginger ale" with vodka, mint and muddled ginger. Service was flawless. We will definitely be back next time we are in South Beach! Thanks Juvia!!"

"Our second time at Juvia. We're locals and live close to Lincoln road. Great place! The staff is very friendly and efficient without being snooty... something you can find at other restaurants on the Beach that are this pricey. There are two sections, one inside, one out. The outside part also has a large common bar area where a lot of people were hanging out, drinking and enjoying the view. We sat inside. The view is great there too looking out over Lincoln Road and Alton Rd. to the bay. We started with great bottle of Brunello that the sommelier recommended. Our food was great as was the service. They were efficient but didn't rush us. The place is not inexpensive, but we will definitely go back again."

"Awesome view, great place if you are not hungry. Portion sizes very small and food prices very high.....even by Miami standards. Great place to start your night with a pricey cocktail and then head up Lincoln Road. Take a look at the wine list......you will probably elect to stay with cocktails, unless your nice Uncle from Jersey is paying."

"I'd call it a double edged sword restaurant. The food was absolutely outstanding, our service was excellent and the views were incredible! BUT, the noise level kept increasing as it got later into the evening, until it was nearly impossible to carry on a conversation at our small table of four - even with shouting! We cut the dining experience short and all four of us vowed we'd never return."

"View was spectacular, service was good all the way around. Group of 4 went for dinner. We had heard it was the best view onn the beach. We agree. We would recommend it. It's very pricey, more of a special occasion place or to have a drink and enjoy the view."
