Canal Bistro - Mediterranean Grill
The Canal Bistro is the realization of a dream for Mona and George Hanna. George's homeland is Egypt; Mona spent her first 23 years in Lebanon. They know Mediterranean cooking. George has been in the restaurant business for 22 years. And over the years, Mona watched her mother and grandmother cook for their big family from their own herb and vegetable gardens, learning the value of freshness in cooking.
George says. "It's been our dream to open our own place, to be creative with cuisine, and to have a family business that our sons can be a part of."
The Canal Bistro is that dream. "It's like you've come to one of our parties -- we've basically just moved our kitchen from home to here," they say. "We put the grill in the dining room because we want people to know that we are using top quality ingredients, and that freshness is our goal, so everything is done right in front of you."
So eat up, relax, be happy. You're eating in a dream come true!

"The food was well prepared and very tasty! To be honest, my daughter did not care for her entree, but that came down to her not liking some spice in the dish. The other entrees were wonderful, as was the baklava!"

"Restaurant did not honor reservation made in Open Table. We had to wait for more than 20mns for the table and then 15 mns for drnks. They were short of staff, not the best service. Food was very good. Avoid busy nigths!"

"Food was ok - lamb chops were good, but lamb kebabs overdone and unfortunately moussaka not up to standard. Knufe (they call it Knafa) is my favorite desert but they do not do it well. Calamari excellent, pita and herb dip at the beginning was great. Loved the live music - great musician but not too loud, server was new and superb."

"As always, food there was enjoyed. We love the hummus appetizer, and are usually filled up before our entree arrives. We were seated at a small table, and by the time our appetizer and wine bottle were on the table, there was barely room for our entrees. Other that table crowding, we were well pleased."

"Food was good. Nice to have a sandwich menu in addition to the entrees. Gave cheaper option. Kids menu a touch high. Bit does come with ice cream and drink. Ambiance nice with live music. However quarters were very tight and it was noisy . Would definitely recommend"

"The ambience is fun, and nothing beats seeing the owner greet you with a smile. The service was friendly and attentive. Th baba ganoush was smoky with great texture. The lamb shank was cooked to tender flavor the could but it with a fork. Overall a great place to take a date or hang out with some friends."
