"I enjoyed my meal and the fact that it was sourced close to home. Next time I'm excited to see what new creations they have, following the food and the seasons!"

"We just love The Local! Eat there often with our family, and also for casual adult night's out. The food is always wonderful, is locally sourced (hence the name) and organic (keep it healthy folks)! The servers have consistently been courteous and prompt, and they do juggle a lot with the number of families that patronize the place. I personally enjoy the menu specials which are wonderfully off-mainstream...duck, goat, lamb, frog's legs...yum! Great to have a place so close to home that changes it up regularly! Nice selection of beer, wine and fresh-made milk shakes for kids of all ages! And crayons at the brown paper covered tables allow grown ups some talk time when bringing the little ones along. We will continue to be regulars!"

"Went on a Saturday fo lunch with my two grown children. The services was very fantastic. She was able to guide us to choices we would normally not make, cajun tater tots. Protions are large and can be shared. The strawbery lemonade with one free refill was a big hit. Already planning or next trip back."

"We always have a great meal here but prepare ourselves to poorly served. The servers are always friendly. It is just that inevitably something goes poorly. I thought that we had avoid the poor service curse when both or appetizer and main courses came out on time. However we had no utensils and had to ask another waiter for them. The table sitting next to us was set. The Waiter was new and our request for forks and spoons flustered him. He went to search for our server and we ended up reaching over to the table next so that our food would not get cold. After dinner we asked for desert menus but no one stopped by to take our order. Then waited15 mins for bill
The food is worth it but you need to be in a relaxed to stomach the spotty service"

"I ordered the chili and it was very spicy and was lukewarm is temperature. I had to ask for crackers as none were served with it. My husband ordered a tenderloin sandwich which he said was good. The waiter never asked us if we needed anything else or if our food was okay. We waited about 30 minutes to get our food. The restaurant was not busy when we were there."

"This place is not very good for vegetarians as there is little on the menu for a person who does not eat meat. Others seemed to be satisfied. The seating by the door, on a cold day does not play out well for the customer. The searing is not comfortable."

"Horrible service and tasteless food. I questioned my boyfriend if the chef was off that night or if anyone was tasting the food coming out the kitchen. One appetizer was inedible (razor clams). Salads were delivered while eating appetizers. Asked the food runner to slow down entrees, but no... entrees delivered while eating salad. I finally was so aggrevated I took my entree to go. I only had one glass of wine because my waiter was rushing us out and did not offer a second glass. This used to be my favorite local spot. Big waste of money. I had 3 courses, paid bill, received change, and was out the door in under an hour."

"The dinner started with an outstanding appetizer of goat cheese and garlic in olive oil and fresh bread. Mushroom risotto was amazing, and the mussels in a curry sauce were very tasty and cooked perfectly. Great meal overall. Plan on coming back with the kids. It is nice to have two areas to eat in. One area for adults only and the other for families."

"The food was very good. I had one of the specials - braised local lamb shepherd's pie. The lamb was tender and flavorful. Overall the dish was probably the best shepherd's pie I have ever had. My friend had the local kitchen sink bangers and mash. She loved it! The list of local brews was great, too. We were visiting from Cincinnati and were glad that we made the pick. It was definitely worth it. The only negative was the amount of noise. My friend and I were sitting across from each other and it was difficult to carry on a conversation due to the ambient noise."

"The Local was recommended by one of the wait staff at another establishment. We arrived and were seated about 10 minutes late of our reservation. First of all the food was excellent. We had the duck wings and they were brilliant. If that was all The Local served it would be a hit. We had the lamb burger (great) and the "Chefs Snack" sandwich (also very good). I was surprised that with the significant selection of Bourbon and Rye Whiskey that there were not more cocktails based off of that selection. If we were to have any complaint it was with our service. Our waiter while friendly enough was slow and inattentive. Between when he first approached our table and when he came back to take our order was 15 minutes."

"As the name implies, the menu relies on local, seasonal foods to fill out their varied and always interesting menu selections. Some of our favorites are the elk burger and the tater tots made in house. Good sandwich and appetizer choices, as well as "comfort foods" to go along with some excellent "foodie-pleasing" entrees."

"Absolutely excellent food and locally grown, raised, and sourced to the extent possible! Viking lamb sirloin was superb! The baked Capriole goat cheese appetizer was wonderful; and, for those who shy away from beets - try the roasted beet salad - yummy!"
