At The Living Room our focus remains on sourcing the best quality ingredients, preparing them simply and delivering bags of flavour and texture on the plate. This is good, honest, robust and stylish food with its origins firmly in the European tradition with international touches. There is nothing frilly or fancy.
A selection of Home Comforts - bangers and mash, fish and chips – are designed for easy eating yet there are also more elaborate dishes like Seared peppered tuna with salsa rosso or Roasted lamb cutlets with minted pesto vegetables. Small plates - such as cured ham with grissini and olives – allow for casual snacking while sandwiches and salads enable one-course, easy and casual dining.

"Staff were great but the food was just average. If you're looking for somewhere central that can cater for a group it's great, but if you want really good food then I wouldn't reccommend it. However, it is a chain restaurant / pub so we really shouldn't have expected fine dining."

"Myself and my husband had a wonderful lunch. The service/staff were outstanding and when I said we had to catch the bus to a show the staff made sure that our main courses were being cooked as we ate our starters, therefore ensuring that we were not rushed and could enjoy our meal."

"The choice of food is to die for. You do have to buy the extra sides so two starts, two mains and one dessert with wine cost about £90.00 The food was beautifully cooked; very well presented. Really raved about it. Loved it. We were the closest table to the live music which meant we could see as well as hear..
The waitress on the other hand was too eager. Didn't give us enough to time to sit before she asked for the drinks order. Then when she took that she wanted the food order before we'd even looked at the menu. She seemed a bit false. Regardless, this didn't put me off."

"This is a competent eating establishment, a lot better than a fast-food outlet but somehow just falling short of a "proper" restaurant. If you want a no-nonsense meal of decent quality this may be just the place, but don't expect fine dining or a great wine list. On reflection, it's probably the size of the dining area that I find somewhat off-putting. Perhaps breaking the room up into more intimately sized zones of three or four tables, even with potted plants or whatever, would improve the overall ambiance."

"Been better places and paid less. Food was average at best i think, that's just my opinion though. Also the cocktails are really poor would not advice anyone to get one of them. Nice layout and nice setting was just expecting a lot more from he whole experience. Also when waiter brought food he asked us if we wanted any sauces we told him yes and what ones and he never came back, lovely service from him ha."

"I booked a table at The Living Room for Valentines evening. From walking in through the door to leaving at the end of the evening, the staff were brilliant. The food was cooked to perfection.

"Celebrating Valentines Night at The Living Room, Liverpool was a fantastic choice. The restaurant area itself being beautifully laid out and lit with a romantic intimate feel to it. The Valentines menu was mouth-wateringly good as whilst we went for the Scallops, Sea Bass and the sharing dessert; seeing other couples meals being brought out set the taste buds alight as well. The service was top notch - not intrusive yet catering to our every wish, almost before we'd thought of it. After dinner we moved into bar area and sampled the wonderful cocktails (I recommend the Apple & Gingerbread Crush), whilst listening to the live contemporary piano playing. If anything the bar service was even better. A Valentines night to remember. Thank You!"

"we dined at the living room on saturday night. the live music as always was amazing. the general noise was quite loud, but not too intrusive. the food was slightly dissapointing, however, it was rectified immidiately. the staff as always were fantastic, the manager and floor manager dealt with our complaints extremely well, very kind and hepful. this restaurant is amazing, always served by lovley staff and as a rule the food is outstanding!"

"It was very good at the start evryone very attentive. Then 2 large parties arrived and we no longer exsisted. It took 45 minuites between completing main course and being able to order dessert. Unable to correctly serve Irish coffee. Food was good no complaints there."

"Great food, i had starter of beer battered king prawns with wasabi and chilli,generous portions,very tasty, would order it again. My brother went for the scallops and enjoyed them although perfectly cooked they were slightly on the salty side. Mains we choose tandoori fish which was lovely and beef and ale pie and mash which was recommended by our friendly waitress and it was really nice, beef meltingly soft and flavoursome. We didn't have time for dessert as we were off to see the match. but when next in town would drop by for more food and to sample the cocktail list."

"I had high expectations of the Living Room having read a number of very favourable reviews. However, it did not live up to my expectations. The food was OK - the bruschetta I had as a starter was fine; the salmon was OK but served on a stone cold potato ( I assume this was intended). I finished with cheese that was not very special(I was asked if I wanted 2 or 3 cheeses, I opted for 2 but was barely charged any less). I think my husband enjoyed his better - he had a tomato terrine with goats cheese; tandoori sea bass; and eton mess. We both thought the coffee was excellent, however. Unusually for Liverpool, we found the service not particularly friendly."
