"It was a celebration of a significant birthday, and the restaurant ran out of brisket. Going for brisket on his birthday was the reason our honoree booked Blue Smoke. How does a barbecue restaurant run out of brisket on a Saturday night - seriously?
The staff was apologetic, but no special accommodation was offered. The food we did have was pretty good, but given that we had indicated that this was a significant birthday ahead of time, I wish they would have offered something to offset the fact the desired special meal was unavailable."

"We went here for my bday. The food was amazing, the service... Less so. They were very slow and appetizers came out at different times, which is awkward when 6 people are trying to eat 1 ap at a time. It was also getting cold as we were sat by the open wall,most of the staff was great about closing the wall, but one waitress began arguing with the other waitress right next to our table. Again not a good feeling. I should mention our reservation was for 8:45 pm and we were seated promptly. however, as it was after the dinner rush, there wasn't much excuse for the weak service. All in all we will definitely be going back because the amazing ness of the food outweighs the less than great service."

"The Uptown location is much better. I felt very rushed. Every second they were clearing the table and taking the dishes away. Felt like if i didn't eat quick they would take my food. I also didn't care for purchasing a large order of ribs, and it didn't come with any sides. Not even corn bread."

"Birthday Boys
We celebrated my husband's birthday on Saturday afternoon and we had our 3-year old great grandson (and other children) along. He loved (we did too) the cookie with sprinkles that he "baked." Great idea. Our server was terrific and she was also helpful with making selections.
We also love the uptown Bluesmoke and go there sometimes for dinner.

"I cannot say enough good things about Blue Smoke. I'm a devotee. The food is incredible, and though they are famous for brisket, pulled pork and other standards of a barbecue menu, I'm personally obsessed with their vegetable burger, which is the best I've ever had. I have introduced many of my friends and colleagues to this delicious burger and now they all go there for just this treat. It's moist, tasty, unique and consistently wonderful.
The service is unsurpassed. On my last visit, which was my second in two days, the restaurant manager as well as the general manager came over to introduce themselves and thank me for my patronage. Not in a pretentious, stuffy way; just genuinely happy for my business. Amazing."

"This was a nice change from the noisy Blue Smoke further uptown. They took our reservation earlier since we were there earlier and seated in a timely manner. Food was ok - ribs were a bit dry and the special seafood dish lacked seasoning and was tepid. Service was very nice except that they kept forgetting to bring things we asked for.
Very family oriented. If you are looking for a hopping bar scene, this is probably not the place but ok experience overall."

"Great place for those with toddlers. This is one of the rare restaurants in the neighborhood with a changing station and the highchairs are the perfect size so your little one will not wobble around. The staff was excellent with their service; it didn't feel like we were being served by one waiter - everyone seemed to have pitched in. The self-decorated cookie for kids was a really nice touch. Thank you and keep up the good work."

"We enjoyed a fun night out at Blue Smoke. The location was great for us as we were staying around the corner and the atmosphere was relaxed and casual - just what we were looking for with two teenagers in tow! The restaurant is very modern and fun - our only complaint is the piped in music was too loud which made it hard to talk across our circular table for 6. The food was very good - great comfort food for a chilly night out."

"The food and service was excellent. My friend and I ordered off of the Restaurant Week menu. She enjoyed the steak, which was cooked perfectly. I had the chicken, which was, also, cooked perfectly. "I frequent this restaurant and basically insist that people meet me here for business lunches! It's the absolute best and I am obsessed with the veggie burgers. People usually take convincing, because they think of Blue Smoke as the place for amazing ribs--which it is. But it's the veggie burger that has me coming back every time.
