"I had been waiting to get to Gaucho in Canmore for almost two years, and it was worth the wait. We went on a Monday and there was only one other party in the place, and by the time we left there were only four so we got superb service. The decor was much better than other Churrasco restaurants I have been to. It was the opposite of Bolero in Calgary: very bright and energetic as opposed to dark and cave-like. The meat was awesome and came fast (there was a seafood special so it included small lobster tails and shrimp). The salad bar was actually a highlight too and included fresh and interesting cold salads and hot pots of other goodness.
We brought our two boys (5, 3) and they were free (5 and under).
The staff were excellent !"

"It was special occasion for our family and everyone had great time.
However for seniors who does not have great appetite, we would like to see some choice for the price range. Just like Lunch time.
When they open, we remember the salad bar had seafood. We felt the salad bar's quality has been reduced."

"We have 'done Brazilian BBQ' before, but never this location. We were extremely pleased with the speed and attentiveness of the staff. The menu / wine list was exactly what we were looking for. This restaurant is a 'hidden gem' of Canmore as far as we are concerned. The only improvement might be a patio to enjoy the mountain scenery, but I don't think it is possible with their building location. If you go, bring your appetite - the meat just 'keeps coming'! We will certainly be back."

"We (family of 4) went for lunch on a Friday and had the rodizio. We didn't know that the whole table had to pick either all-u-can-eat (rodizio) or platter. Since I'm the only one who didn't need so much meat, we went for the rodizio. We most enjoyed the garlic steak and sausages although getting to sample 7 different meat was fun. I love the fresh salad, the palm hearts was new to me and quite special. The hot items were ok. We had the dessert special, a pyramid chocolate mousse which was most delightful.
In conclusion, we had a wonderful experience looking at the mountain enjoying fresh food with great service. It was pricey but worth it. Next time we go, I'll choose the single meat item instead."

"I love this Brazilian style of resteraunt. The salad bar was very good and it also offered a chicken stroganoff and a beef/been stew. Even though the reseraunt was vertually empty on a Thursday, they kept coming with 12 different kinds of meat skewers. My favorited were the chicken wings and Parmesan steak. They also have a great drink that is like a sweet mohito."

"We went here for a birthday. The meal was good, as per usual - but we found that of the 14 meats they offer - we continued to be offered the same four (Beef ribs, Chicken wings, sausage, pork loin). Their Beef options are by far the best, so we had to ask for them to be brought to us - which was annoying. Server forgot to order us our second round of drinks - and never caught on. Also - I find the best seats in the place are in their windowed room in the front - if you get sat in the back, it definitly takes away from the ambiance amd isn't as special. We have gone twice before and LOVED it! This time was just so-so, and we are planning on trying a new place next time in Canmore."

"Really enjoyed my visit to Gaucho. Highlights included the buffet with fresh and vibrant, loved the fresh mozzarella! The star if the evening is of course the meats! I find it ver reasonably price when you consider that any steak plate is in the $30 range! Here you get many different kinds for the same price!! Well done! Thank you!"

"I chose this restaurant for a special occasion for my guest. It was a disappointing experience. We did not order alcohol, which seemed to disappoint our server. The juice and soda we did order were a long time in arriving. The "extensive" salad bar was not. Although the different vegetables had signs saying there were dressing on them there was no noticeable flavours. The hot selections were all cold. The meats in the Black Bean & Brazilian stew were dry and flavourless. The meats brought to the table were hit and miss. Some were okay, others too hard to eat and again some were cold. My guest sat with his cutlery & napkin on his plate for more than 20 minutes and no one asked if he was done or if everything was okay. Music was too loud."

"We really enjoyed the staff at Gaucho, they were friendly and very accommodating. You waited for nothing! The variety of meats was great and we enjoyed everything we tasted. We were a little surprised about the seating though, sitting on hard plastic chairs was not what we expected, with the only alternative being benches."

Starting with the ambiance, what a refreshing design especially in Canmore! The service was great and our server was very attentive. Now the real reason why we visit Gaucho.... The Brazilian BBQ! The meal was perfect, yet again! The swords of meat are so savory & delivered hot to our table with so many options how do you stop.. 'ok, just one more peice!' The buffet was filled with an awesome selection of salads, vegtables & appetizers... Hot & cold I might add!
This a definite, delicious stop to make while surrounded by one of the most beautiful places around us! You will not be disappointed!"

"Main attraction is that it's specialty and location in Canmore. Other than that, the food is a blunt weapon on the taste buds. Entirely too salty to be able to ascertain taste. "We went to Gaucho in Canmore for lunch on a Friday. It was nearly empty, but the service was attentive and the food was fresh and plentiful anyway. Our waitress was a bit awkward, but nice. The gaucho server was very friendly. Everything was tasty, especially the chicken stew. The outside of the restaurant looks like an old office building so it is a bit hard to spot. The inside is much nicer. The manager's office behind the curtain at the reception area is a bit strange. We would recommend it, but warn that it is a bit expensive and if it were busy, the salad bar area would become very crowded."

"Great food, great service, not much more you can ask for! We had a large group of 8 with a reservation. The buffet style dining was great, we didn't have to wait long to fill our plates, even with a packed house, and the meats just kept coming. We could hardly keep up! We would definitely go again."

"Went 6 months ago and the sausages (least expensive food) keep out once, went again this weekend and the sausages came out six times, also garlic bread was being brought out regularly, this didnt come out at all the first time we went. I feel they worked hard to get a good name but now its providing less expensive meat / bread more often. The salad bar was not as impressive as the first time.

"This was a very fun meal. We enjoyed the concept of the BBQ being served at table and enjoyed every morsel of the BBQ and the variety offered. Excellent! The salad bar could have been fresher and bit more varied as well as the side dishes, but the BBQ made up for that totally. A very good value and a fun evening. Would highly recommend this restaurant and if you are a hungry young man, you would get all the protein you could ever handle!"
