"Really enjoyed Gjelina. We are vegetarians and we had a lot of options in the menu. Mushroom toast is delicious as the butterscotch pudding and the crostata. Only deception is the cheese plate : I would have like local cheese instead of French and Swiss."

"Food is fantastic, service is beyond awful. One time we had to wait almost 40 minutes for our food to come out, and when we asked our server about it, she denied anything was wrong when in fact every party who had been sat after us was already mid-way through their meal. She was very unapologetic, and although the food was quite wonderful, her attitude and lack of service really dampened the whole experience.
Only go if you are willing to be treated like cattle."

"Travis Lett is a genius. Plain and simple. To make something as simple as grilled radicchio so good you want to lick the plate is nothing short of amazing. And his Pomodoro pizza is divine. Not to mention the wood roasted cauliflower. Love love Gjelina!"

"Gjelina's is the quintessential Venice, CA, restaurant. The restaurant has so much personality that you're surprised that the food is as good as it is. The food has small plates as well as big plates and everything is healthy without making you feel guilty for not eating 100% vegan. Local shrimp and veggies, Idaho brook trout that was superb. Everything about the place has character making it a great experience all around. Dress warmly because if you're sitting outside, you could be cold in February, if you aren't wearing a thick sweater or jacket."

"Food as usual was excellent. Our server was also wonderful. The only negative was that we had to sit on back patio and it was really cold even though the heaters were working. I love this restaurant but won't sit on patio on a winter's night again."

"Though the staff is a bit busy they upkeep such cool swagger yet balance their aesthetically and charming personality with professionalism as best they can. My date took me out for my bday (actual day!) his 1st time checking out your diggs. He understands why I easily love this restaurant and keep it in mind only for special occasions (distance and budget issues) But he criticised the small size of the entrees. A huge fan of soulful, unique music he was keen on your sharp choices for the soundtrack - giving props to all your songs w fender Rhodes snuck in there Lol. We appreciate the fresh, well executed dishes you always succeed in pleasing! Thank you! Btw, loved the mlk jr. pic you found for your menu - served as an fantastic memento!"
