"Went to Tokio Pub on Friday night for dinner, had a pretty good time. Our waitress was not up to date on the menu, and seemed a little clueless at first. She improved throughout the dinner, but overall left us wanting more. The food was great, we tried three tacos (shrimp, chicken, and nacho), the pork belly (delightful!), the surf and turf (the cook your own, delicious) then the dessert nachos and pie. The food itself was excellent. The portion size was disappointing. They have a happy hour menu, which seems like a great value. We agreed we should have gotten a sushi roll, and probably would have not been hungry afterward. A nice place, good food, good scene, just not enough food."

"Wasn't expecting this type of energetic atmosphere but not a bad experience. All the food was the delicious and priced well. The grilled steak was the best marinated, sliced steak I've had at these types of japanese themed restaurants. I was surprised that they had tacos on their menu but they were delicious nonetheless."

"This was my second trip to Tokio Pub. Upon sitting our waitress promptly greeted us, noticed our table was wobbling as she poured water, and offered to fix the problem without us having to say a word. We ordered tacos, a few sushi rolls, and some drinks. Everything was served in a timely manner and the food mostly delicious with the exception being the fish taco. It was dry and not very flavorful. All in all this a great spot for asian-fusion cuisine in the suburbs."

"It's been 2 yrs since I went there last. It's a great place for Japanese "B級グルメ", sushi rolls are always great, I wish they don't slice fish that thin but it's okay, tasted good. As for Hot Stone, we used 3 different stones for 8 slices of meat, Kirin and Sapporo beer... served a bit warm, they should check temp. more often. Yakisoba Noodle and Doubri, C class,,, noodle was way too greasy, veggie tempura tasted good but not light & crispy like traditional Japanese way. Tacos, ribs, sushi rolls are good, stay away from the other stuff if you like real Japanese food. Service was ok, it really depends on who serve you. The manager was always checking if everything's ok which was great. If you like Japanese pub, you'll like TokioPub,too."

"When we arrived the diners at the table that would be ours had been there for 4 hours. Instead of us waiting for them, the manager had 3 seats reserved at the bar and gave us a round of free drinks. This was unexpected and it was nice to be treated so nice. The food, drinks and service was wonderful. We drove almost an hour to eat here and we will be back for our next Girls Night Out!"

"Everything we ordered was very good! The only item I would not order again is the Lobster Crispy rice. We ordered 2 and it was a waste of money. It was less than average and not worth another try. "This was the first Lettuce Entrtain You resturant that has been a total let down for us. Unfortunatly, only how dissapointing the food was will be the only thing we remember about Tokio Pub. Asian Chopped salad that was so salty it was uneatable. The edamame was over cooked to where the pod mushed in your mouth when trying to get the pea, though the seasoning was nice if was not a good choice. The butterflied shrimp was over cooked, shrimp could not be retreived from the shell, so of the 4 in the order about 2 very dry shrimp was what you could eat. We had the hot rocks tuna the flavor was ok very expensive for the very small portion. The side vegtable was bland, mushy and starchy coating. BAD BAD BAD"

"My Husband much more luck than I did with his appetizer and entree. The shrimp tacos were tasty but cold. My Yakitori Shrimp was served butterflied, but still in their shell. The shrimps were overcooked to the point I could not get them out of their shell. I used my fingers and I could only get pieces of the shrimp out. The drink menu is extensive, but pricey for the very small martini glass you receive that's only filled half way. Our server was great! Fantastic Customer Service. The gluten free options are boring and tasteless. I would recommend more vegetarian dishes"

"My girlfriend and I love sushi and were looking for a cool, newer place to check out for a date night. Tokio Pub's Maki were excellent! We split a couple of really delicious rolls (Lemon-Lime roll , Acapulco Roll, BBQ Eel roll) as well as a hot rock entrée. I do have to admit that the sushi outshined the hot rock entrée. It was the perfect amount of food. The wait staff was attentive, even though it was a busy Saturday night, and the food came out in a good amount of time. They also had a great selection of craft beers and specialty cocktails. It's a smaller space, like one would find more so in the city, so suburbanites may feel a bit crowded. It's also more of a "small plate" mentality so be prepared for that."

"The restaurant is fairly small - make a reservation - but did not feel cluttered. If dining in the colder months, ask for a table inside the restaurant, as the patio can get slightly chilly.
Both the drink menu and the sushi menu offer unique takes on classical dishes, and we were not disappointed with anything we tasted. The Crazy Dragon Roll was phenomenal. Prices for sushi, steak, and pasta dishes were reasonably priced, and the dishes we did not try seemed well received by the neighboring tables.

We went for lunch on a Sunday and it was a quiet environment only because it was mostly empty. I imagine it can get a bit noisy when it's full, but it wasn't when we we there. The quality of the food was very, very good- the ingredients were as fresh as can be and the preparation and presentation was great. It's a very casual atmosphere and I appreciate that, it will be a good lunch spot or after-work place. All of the appetizers and dishes we had were carefully prepared and tasted great. Our server knew the menu inside-out and made recommendations that were terrific. Very pleased with the experience and will return soon. Shaw's quality seafood at very reasonable prices with some great creative dishes-"

"It was a rough start. After 15 minutes of being seated, we still had not spoken with a server. The manager walked by and asked if everything was OK and we explained the situation. He apologized profusely and offered us some items on the house so I give the place credit for trying to make things right. After that, the situation improved. We enjoyed excellent sushi, the fish was high quality and we also liked the premium tacos. I plan go back to hit other items on the menu soon."

"This is the 2nd time we dined at Tokio Pub. The first time was a disaster and they contacted me and gave me (2) $25 vouchers to return. This time was excellent. The service the first time was horrendous but this time the young waiter did a marvelous job.
We will return there on a regular basis. Was happy that the manager wrote to ask me to give the restaurant another chance. They are a 1st class operation."

"We went to Tokio Pub the Saturday after Valentine's day. We were promptly seated and the waiter explained the menu and offered some suggestions for beverages. The Tokio Pub is more of a bar-type atmosphere than a restaurant but with food as a focus. They had a delicious menu and we liked everything we had that night. Their special hot stone cooking at the table was a delicious and fun concept to do at least once. Our only complaint was that we felt rushed while the restaurant wasn't full. We were still finishing our appetizers when our entrees came and there just wasn't enough room on the table for everything so we were juggling plates and beverages to get everything to fit."

"The pork nachos were very good - I'll definitely get those again. The tuna tartar sushi, though, should be noted that it is deconstructed and not sushi at all (at least from what my understanding of sushi implies). It actually could have been good - it's raw tuna on guac. Only problem was that the tuna wasn't that great. (watery and a little tasteless) Beer selection is decent, but nothing is on draft - it's all cans. And the atmosphere is not at all what I expected. Seems almost more like a cafe or an afterthought added onto Shaw's or something... It wasn't at all what I expected when I thought of a pub. Came here for Valentines day, which was a mistake."

"Fun place with a really different menu. There were so many appetizers that we never ordered a main course. Hot rock is a must. Pass on the chicken and steak tacos, but the shrimp were very good. Not authentic sushi but some fun rolls that were fresh and delicious. The outstanding friendly staff made the meal even better. They customized a martini not on the menu and it was outstanding. Will def go back and try a main course item."

"We had someone with us who was gluten free and they did not pay attention to the details of her order. It was quite frustrating. They did recognize this as an issue and provided free dessert for all of us. That was appreciated. My husband ordered beer off of the menu and 4 out of the 7 beers he ordered were not in stock! It was crazy and kind of a joke every time he ordered. The service from our particular waitress was SLOW! We constantly had to ask where our drinks were, including water and soda, not just from the bar. Overall we had fun and were given gift certificates as a part of a "groundhog day special"."

"Fantastic Ginger Mojitos! Shrimp crispy rice and edemame in chili ginger sauce were very good. The pork belly that I had and the Japanese hot rock tuna my date had were both awesome. I would say skip dessert. The Dessert Nachos which were supposed to be "life changing" according to our server were not good. It had whip cream, white chocolate, and sweet cream guacamole."
