In Italy "pizza a legna" (wood-fired pizza) is available everywhere, but it wasn't until il FORNELLO opened their first Toronto restaurant and offered authentic, wood-fired oven baked, Neapolitan style, thin crust pizza that Torontonians were able to experience pizza the way it was meant to be enjoyed.
Now there is an il FORNELLO, Italian kitchen and bar in seven neighbourhoods in the GTA (with more to come), still making the best pizza you have ever tasted and offering a delicious selection of authentic Italian antipasti, pastas, entrées and more in a welcoming environment inspired by the Italian table where you can relax, share and enjoy your meal with family and friends.
"Overall, the food and service was very good, just wish that the noise level didn't make conversation difficult at times. The wood oven pizza is especially tasty, with many combinations to choose from."

"Good neighbourhood option for dinner. Disappointed by the portion of the grilled calamari and shrimp - also a very small portion. But linguini carbonara and rose gnocchi were great. Caesar salad is consistent delicious."

"This is not a Review!! We love the food and the staff at Il Fornellos!! And we have all been there many times and will continue to do so. I would not want to say this to anyone else, however, may I say to Il F. that the dishes that 2 guests ordered (large pasta with some cream cheese on top to blend in with the spices.. $22 per dish, if I remember correctly) is not a dish they would order again. Not a complaint but an observation. The rest of the food was excellent. Thank you all for your wonderful smiles and ambience."

"Very busy restaurant and would definitely recommend a reservation but the service was quick and the food was excellent! Our favorite was the smoked salmon and goat cheese ravioli with vodka cream sauce--so decadent!
Great selection of pastas and wood-fired pizzas, interesting salads and desserts that are big enough to share.
Very reasonably priced, especially since the quality of the food is so high. Would definitely return to sample other dishes."

"I've been to the Il Fornello downtown and loved it, so I thought I would give the one in Oakville a try because its closer. Very pleased, service was definitely the highlight! The server was very helpful and polite, as well, upon leaving the owner thanked us for visiting. The food was just as good as the one downtown. Definitely recommend!"

"Food was good. Pizza's were well done but in terms of the service, we rushed out very quickly. We didn't have time to sit, relax and enojoy our food. I don't think I'll be back."

"The waiter was a character; friendly and funny, which helped our date go well. Food was excellent, perfectly cooked with great flavour. I had the roasted pork loin. She had the salmon."

"Amazing server, he was helpful, gave me and my friend enough to chat and enjoy a leisurely meal on Friday night.
The welcome we received from the greeters/ hostesses was severely unacceptable. Neither smiled, neither said hello - by far the worst welcome I have received at any good establishment (ranging from McDonald's to Michelin star restaurants).
I wa excited to hear the lentil soup was vegan friendly - however, sadly it was grey mush. Either take it off the special list, or fix it quick. Pasta though was great, perfectly al dente.
Definitely good parts of the experience, but a couple issues need to be addressed."
