"The food and service was good. A little over priced for the area. I understand what they are striving for, but there is not much to measure them against in the area. The dining area setup would work better if they had live music (piano or jazz) in the center of the dinning area."

"Tip: Make time for a pre-dinner cocktails. The Meritage is one of the few places where the 'art of the cocktail' has not been lost. Martinis and specialty drinks made to perfection."

"The food is awesome (except maybe the bruschetta). The service is always top notch. However, it is often so dark in there you can't read the menu. One diner near me had to turn his iphone into a flashlight to read the offerings. There is a line where dim light is no longer ambiance. I think they should reevaluate that. The hardest place to sit is in the lower sections."

"Great restaurant but unfortunately has steadily gone downhill in the last year or so. We have always loved the food, wine recommendations, atmosphere and the owner is so wonderful. The most obvious issue is service. At a place like this that is really well done and beautiful you would expect a well trained wait staff. Our server barely spoke to us; we waited 10 minutes after being seated for her to fill the water glasses and take our drink orders. Once the courses of food started, she was prompt but then after I had to ask for a refill of coffee (gave up on the second refill), and waited almost 20 minutes for the bill while the lobby was packed with people waiting on a table. This has been our experience the last few times as well."
