"Went on Mother's Day. The prixe fix menu was limited [i.e. same price for salad (which didn't contain any meat) or burger]. When we first arrived we were seated in a dark corner by the bar although there were other tables available. I asked to be moved and they accomodated us. The food was good (we ordered burgers and my mom ordered the grilled romaine salad) but nothing out of the ordinary."

"We were in the DUMBO area at night for a photography group and needed a restaurant to have a quick dinner. The food was great and the service was also very good. We would return."

"We went here for brunch for my daughter's 23rd birthday - which also happened to be St. Patrick's Day. The staff was super nice but there were a few bungles with our order. One of our party of 5 had to wait quite a while to get his entree as the order was not put in. There was a fair amount of confusion with regard to who our server was. We had fun but the service did detract from our experience."

"Went here on Valentines day, had a special prefix only menu not a whole lot of options but everything was absolutely delicious (you could tell the chef put a LOT of effort into everything served, from presentation to ingridients--great job chef).
The staff was the most attentive without bordering on being obtrusive. I've never seen a restaurant staff do such a great job! Kudos to them!
Taking evertyhing into consideration, the ambiance, the great staff, and the quality of the food, and how everything came together to make an unforgotable valentines day restaurant experience I would 100% recommend the water street lounge."

"Perhaps they are still recovering from Sandy, or perhaps pre-theater is too early for DUMBO, but Water Street was empty when we ate there on Saturday. Despite a very friendly hostess/server, the food was mediocre pub grub at best. Soup had to be sent back as too salty to eat (they were gracious and took it off the bill with no argument). Scallops/pasta was salty too, but edible. Burger was OK, but nothing to write home about. Dessert choices were minimal so we went to the chocolate shop next door, and enjoyed the best food of the evening. Water Street was pleasant enough to hang out in, and maybe the place comes to life later in the evening. But I would not recommend it for an early pre-theater meal."
