"Everyone including the chef came out to greet us at our table during our dining experience. We had 2 kids with us and this was during Valentine's week. They even had Valentine favor's and candy for the kids. Very warm and welcoming. The food was as great as the service. Best calamari I ever had!!"

"The 6 of us split the mezzo platter to start and all were pleased with the variety and the quality. Dinners were all excellent as well and we all enjoyed the 3 bottles of well priced wine. Wonderful place, wonderful evening with friends. Highly recommended."

"We were there Saturday night and they had a full house! The service was still very good, although they were out of several of the items on the menu. I had the oyster salad and it was delicious! There were 6 plump fried oysters on top of a salad and it was so big, I took half home. My husband had the mussels and he enjoyed them as well. I had the Seafood Fra Diablo for my entrée, and once again, a big portion and I took half home. Not for the faint of heart on the heat scale! My husband had the filet, and he was a bit disappointed that they had changed the preparation, but he still thought it was very good. They are about to change to their spring menu, so we will see how that is. We will definitely miss the best clam chowder in town!"

"We had dinner at the Great Food Company and, once again, had a really fine dinner and experience. I had the tomato and mozzarella salad (to die for) and a rib eye steak. The steak quality, always good, has really improved and can be compared to the quality at Ruth's Chris (my all time favorite steak house). My husband had the shrimp and polenta which he thoroughly enjoyed. The one disappointment is that they didn't have the clam chowder soup. This version of clam chowder is the BEST that I have ever tasted anywhere in the US (we have been to 33 of the 50 states and love to eat out!).
The staff is extremely friendly and really cares that you have a good experience. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"Once we arrived we were disappointed to learn that not only was the restaurant out of several of the tastier-sounding items on the menu, but also that the menu had changed several months ago from the one we saw on OpenTable, and they were no longer making one of the dishes that had prompted us to make the reservation in the first place. There was also no kids menu, even though there appeared to be one on the OpenTable menu. This was also a disappointment since we had an 18-month old with us. The food was good but nothing special, though the martini menu was appealing. Overall I think this is a fine place to dine if you're nearby and need a place to eat, but don't go out of your way like we did."

"everything that our party of 4 ordered (4 appetizers/salads and 4 entrees) was excellent. our service was great. our wine/beer/cocktails/after dinner coffee was great. my only concern was how many menu items they were out of. on the one hand, it is terrific that everything is fresh and therefore not available in all quantities at all times....but they were out of several items. nonetheless we all enjoyed our meal and our experience and will go back for dinner again. pork tacos, stuffed mushrooms, fried green tomatoes, steaks, and fra diablo were all very enjoyable and would be ordered again."

"My wife ordered the NY Strip, with dauphinoise potato and bacon tomato hericot verts. The steak is served with a pepper rub that is not listed in the menu. It was a good cut of meat, prepared properly to the requested temperature, and the sides were very good. I had the catch of the day, which was a mahi, served pan seared with lemons, capers, tomatoes, white wine, roasted red pepper butter, herbs, and herb crushed (mashed) potatoes. This was one of the best fish dishes I have ever enjoyed and I had to restrain myself from licking the plate afterwards. Only 3 desserts were available, none with chocolate, and the blueberry goat cheese cheesecake we ordered was dry and crubmly, not at all creamy, and lacked some flavor."

"As always, we had a wonderful dinner at the Good Food Company. I had the Messo for my dinner and DH had the steak. He was happy that all of the sides were actually hot (not lukewarm as has been the case in may restaurants lately) and the steak was well seasoned. Loved all on my plate - my least favorite was probably the blue cheese with cranberries - seemed more like a dessert cheese."

"One thing we really like is that they let you bring your own wine and don't charge a corkage fee! This is very rare these days. I had the raw oysters at $6 per dozen (very cheap) and my husband had the mussels. They were out of crackers for the oysters, which was odd to me as they have a Fresh Market about 20 steps outside their front door. Anyway, they offered crostini and it was fine. My husband had the filet, which he says it is always excellent, and I had the steak and shrimp. I have had this several times, and the steak seemed to very pretty tough this time, but after all, it wasn't a filet but instead a strip steak I think. The service was excellent as usual and it was a very pleasant experience."

"Good Food Company is one of our favorite restaurants in terms of food creativity and quality and a well-priced wine list. Given that the prices seem to be fair given the high quality of the offerings, we are surprised that the restaurant is hardly ever crowded -- a good thing for diners who don't plan in advance. The Rigatoni Bolognese whose sauce contains plenty of the on-site smoked meats is probably my favorite pasta dish anywhere. And the large portion assures me of a second meal at home with the leftovers. My father-in-law agreed that this entree is exceptional and my husband and son enjoyed their crab cakes too. The 2 appetizers (fried green tomatoes and the calamari) we shared disappeared in seconds."

"We had a wonderful meal. It was the frenched lamb chops on top of spinach. It was so good I even asked for the recipe and the chef came out and talked to us. First visit to this restaurant and we were very pleased. Great service also. I already told some friends about it."

"The restaurant was recommended to us by a friend and what a gem it turned out to be. Tucked away near a Fresh Market, the interior very upscale and "urban chic" with a lot of energy and, of course, great food. All in all, a great dining experience."

"Living Social deal was not such a good deal after all. About worth what I paid for it. Prix Fixe menu is very limited, no interesting dishes. Service was excellent and food was good but nothing special. Grilled shrimp a bit overdone. Supermarket wine. Desserts were unimpressive. I may go back and try the regular menu at some point but then again, I passed by several excellent restaurants on my way there. If the Living Social coupon is supposed to draw new repeat customers, they need to kick it up a few notches."

"We really enjoyed our dinner. My husband said the rib eye would give Ruth's Chris a run for their money which is a very high compliment coming from him. It is pricey so it is not someplace we will go regularly. Likely will go more on special occassions."

"Impressed with the staff. Overall, the food was great. The one problem we had was addressed pleasantly by the wait staff at the table followed by a visit to the table by the chef. I am always encouraged when a owner or chef acknowledges a problem and seeks to correct it without the customer having to make the request."

"We went for the first time last Friday. It was a wonderful experience. We were seated immediately and our server didn't keep us waiting. It started to get busy as we were finishing. That's when it started to get noisy. It didn't seem to detract from the ambiance at all. Wonderful special family night."

"Service was terrible! We were completely ignored. We had to flag down a server who said they would check who had our table and about 10 minutes later came back to say "I guess I'm it!" The soup was terrible and when the server saw we hadn't eaten it didn't even ask. We said it was terrible and they just took it away again without saying anything. The rest of the food was ok but not the service. I will never go back nor recommend it to anyone."

"On 2/16/13, my husband and I went to The Good Food Company for dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day/our 16th Wedding Anniversary. We absolutely loved our experience. One co-owner,Shannon,introduced herself while we were at the bar. ready. She made us feel extremely welcome. The bar tender Sherry was knowledgable and made an excellent whiskey sour. Lisa, the hostess was very nice. The table wait staff was attentive and very professional. The food was delicious. One of our favorite items was the MEZZO 18 appetizer. My husband had the Ribeye 29, it was cooked to perfection. I had a pasta dish and it was very good. For dessert we split blueberry bread pudding and it was the best we'd have ever had! We will definitely back soon!"
