"We always enjoy being transported to France when we go to Le Zinc. And this time, I think I ordered particularly well. My salade Lyonnaise was perfect - the egg perfectly poached and the dressing very mustardy. The duck breast was terrific. The remains our favorite casual, neighborhood place."

"Great little restaurant with excellent food and service. We had a party of six and and we had a great time at the restaurant. We did not have dessert at the restaurant because we had cake waitng for us at home. We'll try their dessert next time we go because it looks good."

"Le Zinc is OK as a neighborhood restaurant, but not as good as a number of other French bistros in the Bay Area. We had the fixed price menu ($37) and liked the main dishes but the appetizers and desserts were nothing special and/or not very good."

"Authentic French cuisine served tapa style. Tucked away in the Noe Valley area, we loved how it was in the vicinity of some great cafes, bars, and boutique stores. We loved that the servers were French, and how the restaurant was very accomodating. There was an outside patio that looked pretty cool, so looking forward to Sunday brunch. Worth coming here if you're a foodie."

"This was our first visit to Le Zinc and we enjoyed it very much. The onion soup was delightful and the boeuf bourguignon was excellent. My wife had the tuna nicoise, which was also quite good. Also nice French wines by the glass. Friendly service adds to the experience. We will return!"

"After 5 years of being the Noe Valley residents, we finally made it to Le Zinc. The only little issue was that even with an advance reservation we've been waiting for a table for about 30 min (we were 5). During our waiting we were treated well in a charming back yard with a bottle of Bordeaux. After we were seated everything was fine, on time and delicious. The service was as good as food. For the main course we've got: the lamb, the pork, the salmon and the sweetbreads - everything was very good. Appetizers, both steak tartar and escargot, were just wonderful. I am not a wine guru, but what they gave us for the meal was great (some sort of Bordeaux). Yes, and the dessert: the warm chocolate cake was fantastic."

"The service is very attentive and they are very accommodating. The food is excellent! We were a party of 4 who enjoyed every entree. We mixed it up so we could share more entrees. It is truly a French Bistro w/ something to offer everyone. Highly recommend!"

"Food was outstanding!!!!! Tried escargot for the first time. I was kind of expecting something more gnarley but each snail was daintily placed on a perfect little potato circle and served with delicious porcini mushrooms. Very fun. We had a party of four, some really great wine and the main courses were outstanding. Service was professional, no nonsense and perfectly acceptable. I will come back again for a romantic dinner or even on my own to reward myself with a beautiful meal after a hard work week. Love it!"

"It was a night out with "the girls" for me at Le Zinc. A niece who lives in CO was in town, so my wife, daughter, sister-in-law and I met her at Le Zinc, far from my daughter's house. We all loved the food--salads, entrees and desserts. Escargot was moderately good, everything else excellent. The waiter (I believe the owner) was most attentive and helpful. (I wish he were not a smoker, however. but the place is "French". Prices were reasonable. We'll return."

"The food was very good, as was the service. The place was almost dead though - not much atmosphere, but maybe that was the time of night we were there? Anyway, I would definitely go back."

"Maybe the food would've been better if they actually had 5/5 items on the dine about town menu. My bf and I decided to try Le zinc as an early v-day dinner. The main course had 3 entrees to choose from, except the were sold out of 1 out of the 3! Same with the dessert! This was Sunday at 6pm, apparently food are premade for the weekend dining. Disappointed. When we were out of bread and butter, I asked for a refill, got the bread but where's the butter?"

"This is a wonderful neighborhood gem. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and they were serving Brunch. Friendly wait staff and delicious food. Everyone in our party (all 11 of us - 8 adults 3 toddlers) had nothing but good things to say about the food. I would definitely come back again."

"Small and intimate bistro-style restaurant with excellent food that is reasonably priced. Simple and rustic French cuisine that is prepared wonderfully. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. A great choice for a nice dinner out."
