"Great atmosphere, great shrimp cocktail, service was good, but every time I have eaten here I walk way underwhelmed with the quality of the steak. Very mediocre, particularly for what is suppose to be a high end steakhouse. If you are looking for great steaks avoid this place & instead head to Capital Grille."

"The ambient was nice, I went here for a family dinner after my graduation ceremony from college. I loved the dark lighting and the noise level. Not to loud not too too quiet. I've been here on 2 occasions and both occasions have involved large groups of 10 or more. They did a good job of accommodating and making sure everyone was attended. I ordered the salmon with a side of mashed red potatoes. What I really wanted was the grilled Salmon instead I got a cold flaked salmon! So make sure you're specific when ordering this dish. Other than that everything went great."

"My wife and I love eating here. However, on the most recent visit, the sides were unimpressive. The mashed potatoes were thick and pasty; potatoes probably sat too long in the starchy water before mashing. The seasonal rice was pretty dry and nothing to call home about. On the positive side, we do go for the steak and they did not disappoint in that category."

"My lamb rack was served luke warm and could have been seasoned more. Beware fo the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp are great but you have to love horseraddish -it is potent. It will make you cry. It's dumped on top - ask for it on the side."

"Yes, Harry and Izzy's is pricey, but for the occasional visit, say for a special celebration, it's worth it. The food was excellent, the server was knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful, and classic Motown played at a reasonable level in the background. I had heard good things about the restaurant before I went, and they were pretty accurate. The shrimp cocktail was delish, but beware the upsell to the 10 piece. It will set you back almost $32 by itself! But I'm still glad we ordered it. We will definitely visit again, as soon as we save up some money..."

"The food was good I tried both the pasta and steak and had no complaints. The creme brulee dessert was a great way to finish it off. The only issue I had was that my date and I were seated next to a huge birthday party group which made conversation extremely difficult because of the noise level. "We wanted to have the famous shrimp cocktail/sauce and it WAS delicious. The food is excellent, very friendly staff, and good service. Our only disappointment ( and pet peeve) was that we weren't finished with our salads when our entrees arrived. My husband was only 1/3 through his. Our server took his entree back to the kitchen to keep warm but the fish and chips became soggy. Too bad. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our evening."

"We brought a large group and the service was amazing! Definitely couldn't have asked for more. We had a semi-private area which allowed us space to enjoy ourselves. Many of the guests were from out of town and they were very impressed with the food (as was I). Will definitely come back."

"The food at Harry & Izzy's is decent, but not worth the prices charged. We ordered an Izzy Style NY Strip and Filet Mignon. The Filet was bland at best and seemed like it needed to at least have some salt and pepper added to it. Both steaks were cooked correctly, but everything was just mediocre as far as flavor goes.
The bread that they provided at the table was cold and hard, so I'm not sure how fresh it was. The wedge salad was delicious and the mashed potatoes that were ordered as a side for each steak were decent, but also needed additional seasoning.
The service was POOR! Our server was never around and we relied on the bussers and managers to get our food/drinks/to-go containers for us. We waited 15+ minutes just to pay."

"This was a great place for a casual business lunch. I am sure it would be a great place as well for dinner/drinks with friends at night too. It was a little noisy so I say "casual business lunch" so if you are wanting to really discuss serious business, I would go some place quieter. Food was good, service fine and overall a good experience."

"I brought a small group for Secretary's Day. They all loved it. Food was great. Waitress was wonderful, very nice and informative. I've eaten at the bar many times and you can get in and out quickly for lunch. Sitting at a table and ordering salmon and swordfish was was a little slower and to be expected. Overall still a great lunch. Parking in Circle Centre's garage was extrememly convenient as well. I almost hate to give away these types of secrets."

"Went for lunch with a friend. Obviously, the room is beautiful and comfortble. They need to figure out a better configuration for the entry, though. It was congested at the host stand. We were seated pretty quickly -- always nice at lunch. No matter your food issues, you can find something on the menu. We both enjoyed our food; we even had dessert! My friend LOVED her cherry pie, but I wonder if it was really worth $9/slice. David is an excellent server. Ask for him. It's more expensive than many lunch places downtown, but it's a nice treat. I wholeheartedly recomment Harry & Izzy's - Downtown!"
