"This is a nice brunch but it used to be so much better. The food is very substandard and the choices have really been cut down. We have traveled to Nebraska City many times for this brunch and we have seen the quality of the food go down hill. It is a nice drive and the atmosphere is wonderful but we are disappointed in the food."

"Timber Lodge promotes itself as being sustainable, seasonal and from scratch food preparation. Unfortunately, I did not see or enjoy food using this base of culinary exception. The brunch buffet was filled with mass commercially produced pastries, smuckers jam, boxed cereals, frozen vegetables and salad dressings. The crudite carrots were the weird tumbled ones used on snack trays prepared at grocery delis across the nation. Seems to me their garden is either costco or sam's with a sprinkling of foodservice distributors. Nice brunch but nothing seemed to be from scratch or seasonal."

"So disappointed. The food was not prepared by a skilled or trained food service person, "no way" a chef and I ended up paying close to one hundred dollars to pay for food for 2 adults and 1 child that no one at my table could literally eat. I had to pay again and use up our holiday visiting time to go to a local eatery because everyone was hungry and frustrated. When chatting with others later that night at the pool, everyone including the children were discussing how incredibly horrible each dish was. I asked the front desk supervisor if they had received any comments or complaints on the eater day brunch and she said "No we have not." I asked the front desk staff if they ever eat the hotels food and they all said they don't eat here."

"We have eaten numerous times at the Timber Dining room for lunch, brunch and dinner. The Sunday brunch has been somewhat disappointing on the last several visits. The omelet had an unusual flavor (not pleasing) which I think was the peppers. The beans were cold, the prime rib too fatty and the fish was very "fishy". They used to have a much larger salad bar also which I miss. We will return as we have had more pleasant experiences than unpleasant at the Lodge. I hope it was just an off day for the kitchen."

"Timber Dining Room at Lied Lodge is my husband's and my favorite area restaurant. The food is always enjoyable, and there is variety in the menu that isn't found in most small town dining venues. The view from the dining room looks out over a forested park, and the dining room is furnished in a warm "Mission" style. The servers are friendly and attentive but not hovering. We have dined there as a couple in the dining room, as well as attended events and family holiday dinners there. I always look forward to going there."

"Excellent since your recent chef left! Quality of food increased 100%. Two of the worst meals we have ever had were two year's ago valentine day, and in-laws anniversary dinner. Regardless of his endorsement by the Omaha World Herald the meals were horrible. Thanks for the change."

"The food was amazing. The guys would have liked their main course to be little more filling, or to have bread accompany the meal. Our waiter was friendly, upbeat, and enjoyable. He did have a hard time describing the main course offerings to us, it was obvious he had not tried them. Overall, it was a wonderful evening. Thank you!"
