"Phil Trani's, pre-show, has a mostly older clientele; so, we can't tell if it's a hot spot or a vibrant bar scene. We can say that service is great, food is very good to outstanding and servers are professional. The restaurant has an 'Old Hollywood' feel; e.g., Brown Derby, Michael's of Loz Feliz. We've enjoyed two pre-show meals there with friends; however, it would be nice to see how the ambiance changes as a later crowd of diners surfaces."

"We were dining on a Sunday evening. Food very good - my husband was disappointed that the soup of the day had just run out.
All dinners were very good. We were not rushed and will continue to return here to dine."

"One of the best restaurants I have been in in awhile. My daughter a fish afficiando called her blacked salmon the best she ever had, My rack of lamb was perfect. The lounge after dinner was a great surprize and worth a trip to Long Beach"

"I've lived in the Long Beach area for over 20 years and always said one day we will have to check out Phil's. I maybe late but you got my family for life. Best food in LBC, unanimous two thumbs up. We plan on coming back on my Birthday March 16th."

"We had an enjoyable evening. Our server was outstanding, and the food was very good. Because we had a pre-theatre reservation, the crowd was mostly a considerably older one. I imagine the music and bar scene begin after 8 p.m. Because it was so early, it was difficult to get a complete prospective on the other aspects of the restaurant. We will return -- most definitely -- but at a later part of the evening."

"We took friends from Pasadena who are no strangers to fine restaurants. The calamari appetizer was very good and we all had fish dishes, Swordfish special, Sand Dabs, and Stuffed Halibut so we really didn't sample the full breadth of the menu, but the dishes were top notch. The service was friendly, prompt and professional. The only detraction would be that the cappuccinos were not hot when served, but that was corrected. I will return to try additional items. Great fun."
