Barbatella a new kind of restaurant that will grow on you in the same way that the leaves & branches of a grape vine develop out of a shoot: a "barbatella"
Barbatella offers an extensive menu that incorporates fresh interpretations of authentic dishes.
You will enjoy pasta with typical ingredients from Emilia-Romagna, the Veneto, Tuscany, Puglia & the Adriatic shores. Meat & fish on the rotisserie & the grill or in the deep-fryer & the smoker: whole roast duck, smoked pork baby back ribs, Venetian style meatballs, & much more. In our wood-burning oven we will make signature pizzas with cheeses & garnishes that emphasize a fresh Italian take on a favorite. Another exciting prospect at Barbatella is the production of home-made Italian ices, gelatos & sorbets– available as individual portions to enjoy as you wander around Old Naples.
Barbatella has beautiful courtyard setting with views along Third Street. There is a sixteen-seat bar which features 100 wines available by the glass.

"We have been to Barbatella several times and always enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. We suggested the restuarant for a night out with friends and were very disappointed. It was the first night of a new menu and the waiter didn't really know much about the new entres and how they were prepared. Our small plates for sharing came without any serving utensils. Water was never refilled without flagging down someone. I had the shrimp and linguine which was horribly overcooked."

"We love downtown Naples and tried Bartatella because of the location on Third Street and pre fix dinner offer. It turned our to be a find! it's so well located on Third Street....surrounded by shops, restaurants and outdoor music venues. We sat at an outdoor table shaded by trees and covered with white lights....we quickly looked at the Italian menu and chose the prefix dinner...$19.50 appetizer, entree and dessert, The meal was delicious....there were several choices of appetizer, entree and dessert. I chose an artichoke appetizer, breaded and served with a delicious dip. For the entree, I chose a chicken filled with ham and cheese covered with a light balsamic glaze..very tender and flavorful. For dessert, I chose a raspberry gelati."

"The food here is fantastic! Served by lovely, warm and perfect customer service oriented people. The pizzas are the best outside of Napoli, made in the same style with an imported wood-burning oven and marvelous, fresh ingredients. The pastas are homemade and delicious, with wonderful sauces and combinations. Some of the best veal parmigiana we have ever had, too!

"Service was non existent! Wait staff ignored gestures for help. Noise was through the roof. The food was very good, as we had experienced 3x in the past. When we were there, off season, the owner visited our table and service was great. Shame they can't handle seasonable business! We couldn't wait to get out of there. We were excited to bring friends for the first time. They won't return, nor will we."

"7 of us dined inside on one of the large high top tables room is small so those coming in for cocktails the sound level elevates quickly, but didn't dampen our evening. Started our meal with cocktails and delicious appetizers. All familiar, but yet had a rustic culinary feel. Dinner was also exceptional from homemade pasta to fish and lobster all was done perfectly.
Try them you won't be disappointed, and the people watching was fun. Also as we came from the north side of Naples, I highly suggest a cab, if partaking in libations, cabs are easily accessible and worth it as there are a lot of watchful police eyes everywhere in downtown naples"

"We had an 8:30pm reservation, and although there was a booth that sat open for 20 minutes, they made us wait and finally sat us in the pizzeria section. Limited menu, especially if you like seafood. My wife ended up ordering Salmon and couldn't eat it as it was so strong tasting. Overall not a great experience especially when there are so many terrific restaurants in Naples. Seems their niche might be outside dining for a beer or glass of wine and pizzas, there they may excel but we do not have direct experience in that regard."

My friends arrived first, 5 min before reservation, I was parking car. They wouldn't seat them unless we were all there, very strange?
Wouldn't seat us outside, , even though some tables being cleared the person at desk, was so rude to my friends, he barked at them!
We are in Naples all season and frequent in summer. We also take friends there, and recommend it to others.
Never again, there are lots to places to chose from.
The food this evening was also just mediocre.
I also book restaurant res. on line in plenty of time so there is never a problem with timing.

"Incredibly disappointed. Our table was facing the kitchen to out left, an air conditioner unit straight ahead and an ice machine to our right. The food was good, but way over priced. Service was fine. If you go be sure to get a table on the patio area."

"This is my 4 th time at barbetella. It never disappoints us. Unlike some restaurants that act a little snooty if you are sharing a dinner, Barbetella kindly split the dinner for us on two plates. My mother and I are small eaters so we usually get an appetizer, dinner and dessert and share. We also get a bottle of wine so we are not actually out trying to eat cheaply at a nice place. We greatly appreciated this and the fabulous service we always get there. The maitre d and all the servers are very kind and friendly. I will keep going back!"

"When we arrived having made a reservation we thought our seating would be taken care of but it was a cool night and people were moving from outdoor dining to inside but after some discussion with the host he moved us to a table that was satisfactory.
