"The dining room ambiance, offset by weathered brick, makes for a restaurant that feels far more west coast US than south Tampa. And the smell of wood grilling fresh fish and oysters beckons you to stay awhile. Especially liked how the simple, clean herbs and ingredients allowed diners to savor their meals - rather than overpower them. Love my east and west selections ofgrilled oysters too. Bar was fun--- staff was welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive.Woudl be a really fun place with a crowd.."

"Living in the neighborhood it was nice to walk to a good fish restaurant. We needed this. Lots to like about this new spot: good food, great ambience. But, service was slow and it was really too noisy to have a conversation across the table. I also went home smelling like a firewood grill. Hope they can find a way to improve the acoustics. But, I will go back..."

"Took 30 minutes for even a drink order. We were seated outside right on the street, in the afternoon sun, which was not requested. When food came it was good, but no better than any other restaurant. Will not be going back."

"Started off not too good - took valet almost 10 minutes to take our car. Then we waited more than
1/2 an hour past our reservation time for our table. The dining room was very hot and
smokey due to the open 1200 degree grill. We waited very long in between courses
and found the food to be just average. I'm glad we tried it but probably will not go back."

"We enjoyed all of our dishes and would go back for the food. Especially liked their escarole and wild mushroom salad. The inside seating is a bit smoky even away from the grill area and the bench seats are a bit short in depth for those with long legs. Our server was apologetic over forgotten side with dinner and took off the bill as it did not come out until very end. They treated our birthday guest to dessert. Server made great menu recommendations. Very crowded bar on a Friday so expect to stand if you come early to your reservation and wish a drink. Valet park fee is unfortunate but needed there on South Howard as street parking is scarce and they have no lot."

"I was really excited to try a new restaurant in South Tampa. There is clearly a void for a place specializing in seafood. However, my experience was mediocre at best. The place was packed, and the staff seemed super stressed. The food was okay but not amazing. We got the tuna appetizer which was good, the angry lobster was okay, the fish tacos bad. I think we will give it one more shot to see if it improves with time."

Fresh fish, organic produce.
Try the Oysters (New Orleans Style)...Great, and I am from New Orleans!

"Best New Restaurant in Tampa for 2013? Hmmm. Made a reservation early in the week for 6:45 Friday. Not a walk-up or arrived late or anything... but they seated us in the "lounge" AKA the bar. "Vibrant" bar scene? Try deafening. Honestly could not hear my wife seated 2 feet across the table. The noise level in this place would be the envy of Tropicana Field. Then we watched our appetizers get delivered -- three times -- to the table next to us. Why they acted surprised but graciously kept accepting food they didn't order is beyond me, but that's another story. For entrees, we had salmon and stuffed shrimp - both were excellent. We also had to grab silverware from a nearby table twice. Great food, but overall... not so much."

"Gordon Davis and his team have made a wonderful transformation of the old Ceviche. Great Food, great atmosphere. I would recommend that you quiz the servers about the oysters and local fish. There is much to know about the menu, but you have to ask as they are new to local seafood."

"Thought it would be nice to try one of the newest restaurants in SOHO b/c we heard great things about the place. Hands down, one of the best dinners in a while! Our reservation was late, but the service was still impeccable. The decor&ambiance were beautiful; equipped w/ a grill in the middle of the dining room&view of SOHO. Louie, our server, recommended some great options. We started off w/ cocktails (a cucumber gin drink& an "adult" Arnold Palmer -so refreshing!). Louie said we HAD to try the grilled oysters (WOW, was he right!) My friend ordered the NY Strip&lobster (thank goodness she was willing to share, hehe) & I ordered the mussel skillet&bonzai oysters (all explosion of flavors!) I will definitely be back for any type of occasion!"

"The food and service were excellent however the kitchen / dining area was encountering a major smoke problem requiring us to leave the dining room and eat outside. The restaurant is new so hope they resolve this issue. Otherwise it was excellent!"

"We were hoping to find someplace we could walk to and enjoy. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. The noise level was over the top; it was impossible to have a conversation. Our server was so nervous his performance bordered on comical. He did not know what a martini is, he was unfamiliar with the confusing menu, and he did not know how to time our orders properly. We actually received martinis with no garnish in them; the server brought a plate on which there were a lemon wedge and an olive. The crab cake was $$$ and lousy (burned, with shredded not lump meat). Overall, slow, average, and VERY expensive. We will not return."

"The remodel of this space is fantastic. For those of you that recall Le Bordeaux, The St Bart's House and Ceviche know that this place needed a face lift. The only thing I would change in the inside dining room is the high top tables. They are awkward and uncomfortable as the stools had no backs. Ask for Doug when you go...he was an excellent server. The other wait staff was somewhat inexperienced and tentative. The food was fantastic. I had the Scottish Salmon and it was prepared perfectly and the spinach had the right amount of garlic. We shared a molten lava chocolate cake for desert that was overcooked. The cake was dry and the inside barely warm with little to no "lava". They came out fast so they must be prepared ahead."
