The Little Dipper
An experience you won't find at any other restaurant in Wilmington - unique, bold and fun...Fondue! The Little Dipper's menu consists of premium meats, fresh seafood, vegetables and homemade sauces for dipping. Dip organic bread into hot melted cheddar cheese with beer, garlic and spices, prepared tableside by your server. Indulge in blackened filet with a warm au pouivre, sashimi grade tuna dipped in Asian ginger sauce or shrimp drenched in wasabi lime aioli. For dessert don't pass up strawberries dipped in milk chocolate, or bananas dipped in warm dark chocolate blended with smooth peanut butter.
The dining environment is casual and hip with bright colors and rich cherry wood. Each table is handmade with built-in electric burners where the guests cook together in one common fondue pot. "The food was great. We love going to the Little Dipper for many reasons. The nice thing is everyone in our family can find something on the menu they like to eat. It is really a treat to go there. Our favorite time to go is right when the open in the evening. The service is good and the servers are attentive and very helpful with menu choices."

"We went for my brother's graduation and it was a really fun experience! It would also be great to go on a date since there are constantly things to look at and conversation starters. The cheese fondue was excellent. The meat was good, though I was surprised at the limited amount you get. I would have loved to have a timer on the table to use as well (we all had to use our cell phones to estimate cooking time), since they give you estimated cooking times for each type of meat/veggie. They have excellent dipping sauces, though when all 12 were on the table....it was hard to keep up with what was what. It would have been great to have had labels!"

"Everything was fabulous - the food was amazing and so was the whole restaurant. The booth was a little odd - one that was kind of stuck in the wall - but after awhile we got used to it! The Fontina cheese appetizer was amazing, and the mushroom sauce (fancy name that I cannot recall, haha!) was awesome!!! Our server Melissa was fantastic - we'll be back for another special day."

"We have been to The little Dipper about ten times in the 5 years we have lived here. It is an hour away, so we go for special occasions, double dates, and celebrations. We have spread the word about how good the food is. How can one complain, you cook your own food! It is fun, different, original (not franchise), a bit on the expensive side. My wife gets a very excited look in her eyes, when they bring out a chocolate fondue for desert.
I could go on and on. Make reservations and enjoy!"

"I like little dipper a lot and I always get my friends to go there instead of other places, but this time the first thing that the waiter told us is that we will have to order soon because we HAVE TO LEAVE by 7.00 pm. Apparently there was another reservation for the same table at 7.30 pm. WE go to little dipper to have fun, catch up and unwind, we don't need to be rushed, and it really doesnt matter how kindly you say that we have to leave, it is rude and I prefer from now on pick another place where we can enjoy our girl night for the time that we decide to stay. I encourage you to make clear while doing the reservation that is just a 2 hr. spot, because nobody told me."

The only complaint I have is that when you're with a bigger party on ladies night sometimes I feel there isn't enough food to accommodate everyone. "The service is what makes Little Dipper such a great place to dine. The waiter helped us through the many choices and made great suggestions for sauces to go with the meat and seafood we cooked in the fondue pots. The quality of the food was excellent; I highly recommend the tuna. Sharing the food and sauces was fun and the slower pace of the meal made for good conversation. "I went here with my girlfriend for our five year anniversary and had a wonderful time. The Little Dipper is a great place to sit down and spend a couple hours with your significant other or with a group of friends. The food was excellent and our server was very friendly. I can't wait to go again."

"The Little Dipper is one of my favorite places to eat in Wilmington! The food is always amazing and you get a big bang for your buck. It is a dining experience - not just dinner. We were in from out of town and knew we wanted to go somewhere special and the Little Dipper did not disappoint. Looking forward for the Durham, NC location to open!!!"
