"We always go there for our birthdays. You get a free bottle of wine equal to your age the week of your birthday. As we were with a 60 year-old, this was a tremendous deal! And they bring you a free dessert, too. It was so fun!"

"The restaurant comps a bottle of wine valued at your age on your Birthday which puts at the top of my go on that day. Food is great, patio has a nice vibe, nice wine selection.....try to chomere (sp) for dessert, Wow is all I can say. "We had dinner with two couples and it was a very pleasant experience. The waiter we had was excellent and very friendly. Made our time that much better. My birthday was in April and unfortunately we didn't get there at that time so he gave me a free dessert. We will definitely be back."

"Service was good and the ambiance good but verbally the food well we would nt return. If you are going to serve calamari then learn how to lightly batter and season check out other restaurants in the twin cities like Salut for what fried with Bernase sauce should look like and taste also Chanting grill, university club and many other places to see what calamari batter should be light and tasty
As for wine the by the glass could include a few more Pinot Noise and the wine list could be improved to add some wines from Chile and bourdeaux's just to give some diversity and appeal wine people who like choices other then the usual humdrum"

"I have been coming to Tria since it opened - mainly because it is convenient to where I live. My favorite way to dine at Tria is on the patio in the summer or in the bar area. I have dined in the dining room many times & always walk away saying the same thing, "service is slow, staff is very pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable, The food is good, but for this price it should be great." In the bar & patio areas, I have always had cocktails & shared appetizers, which are all done well. My favorite is the poutine with foie gras & a wedge salad. I also love their mussels (when they are good), but have had too many instances where the mussels are tiny & the dish is just ok. Having said all that, I will continue to go to Tria."

"This was the occasion of a special 5 course dinner night based on Goose Island Beer. It was a fun atmosphere and the food was well prepared and interesting. ALthough it wasn't typical table service, the people attending the tables were friendly, professional and prompt. The bleu cheese soup was particularly notable, but all courses were excellent. The only downside was that since each course was substantial, there was a little too much food and we couldn't finish the later dishes, but it's up to us to pace."

"Started off on a down note. Took a while for our server to approach us. More than 10 minutes. Other servers kept asking if he had been by and we kept saying no hoping they would get the hint. When he finally arrived at our table he apologized and from then on it was plesant. Food was good, not great. I was a little disappointed in my dish but my wife's was excellent. Next time I will skip the trout and get the tuna!"

"We were looking for an upscale yet comfortable gem where you can dress up or go casual and get a great food and cocktails while avoiding standard fare. Tria fit the bill and has great options without having to see fried mozzarella. If you like Phil's Tara or Lake Elmo Inn, them Tria is for you! Our server was fantastic and did not steer us wrong. He was honest in his recommendations telling us things that others do not like. We had a group of 4 and said we were not in a hurry - he took our cue and let us go at our own pace. Will be back to Tria soon with more friends!"

It probably helped that it was a Tuesday evening so not quite as busy as a weekend. "We've eaten at Tria three times in the past couple of months for birthdays and a group outing with friends. They have a nice perk for people celebrating birthdays, a free dessert and a bottle of wine up to a dollar value equal to your age. Most recently I had the Veal Marsala, my husband had the Sea bass and my son had a steak. All the entrees were very good. The servers were attentive and knowledgable about the menu. I appreciated the atmosphere and the fact that it was fairly quiet and easy to hear each other talk. I'm looking forward to returning when the weather is nice so we can try out the patio."

"We had a great experience on Easter Sunday at Tria. We usually like a brunch setting, however, here you order an entree off the menu. The food was very good & the service outstanding. We had heard that several parties cancelled at the last minute & one was a no-show which is too bad--PEOPLE SHOULD BE MORE CONSIDERATE especially on special days since there was a waiting list of people that wanted to eat there. The atmosphere is cozy & comfy because of the design of semi-seperated rooms available. They also had an Easter Egg Hunt for little ones."

"It was cozy and wonderful for an early relationship dating experience. The staff was fun...engaging but not intrusive and played along with our jokes. Noise level allowed us a chance to really visit, even though a birthday party was going on at the next table. Thanks for the good food and lovely evening!"

"We were seated on-time. Our waiter was very pleasant; immediately got our attention with his approach to waitstaff etiquette. Size up your guests and determine your dialog as appropriate to their age and gender.............Very Good.
For once we were not exposed to the usual "Can I get you a drink right away", and "how is the food tasting?". We think those questions simply don't belong in the restaurant world; after all, "..........right away?"; we haven't had time to even sit down and relax. And, "............the food tasting?"; well I'm sorry, but food does not have the ability to taste on its own. THANKS for not asking those questions!

"This is our 6-7 evening meal at Tria over a number of years. This evening we were celebrating our anniversary with out-of-town friends. We were seated in a booth in the back of a room off to the left upon entering. It was extremely noisy. The room has an arched ceiling of brick. We could barely hear each other across table even when I felt like I was straining my voice to speak louder. To the credit of the Tria staff, when we expressed our displeasure, we were immediately moved to a much quieter location in the main room. We had requested a booth thinking it would be more intimate. The restaurant was busy and was there was a very energetic crowd in all areas. The acoustics were just better in some locations. Food and service was great!"

"This was our first time visiting this restaurant. It was a wonderful way to celebrate my husband's birthday! Our dinner was delicious and the service was fantastic. We were seated at a romantic table for two by the fireplace. A wonderful evening! Also enjoyed the free bottle of wine we received .......the value was equivalent to my husband's age!"

"I used to love this place, but hadn't been there for over a year. So disappointing. We had a group for my birthday dinner, and I was embarrassed that we had always raved about Tria. The service was almost non-existent. The food ok, but not worth the price especially when there was no service to support the charges. Dining should be an experience. The only positive part of the evening was the great bartender who served us in the bar prior to our dinner reservation.He was very friendly & knowledgeable. I wish we would have stayed in the bar. The waitstaff and their managers should be ashamed to let down the few coworkers who do seem to care the business. Sorry to say we will not be back and will not recommend to anyone."

"My friends and I were there to celebrate a special birthday. The first thing our server asked was if we were celebrating anything special. I like that. She also knew her menu and wine. Her descriptions and recommendations were right on the mark and we were all more than pleased with everything we orders. Fun night, wonderful food and wine, great atmosphere."

"The on-line reservation open table was great, we got right in at the time we needed. We were able to celebrate my wife's birthday at a nice higher class restaurant. Since we do not get to go out to dinner much (just the two of us, no kids). It was very nice of you to compliment us with a bottle of wine for my wife on her birthday. The waitress was so very good, you are luck to have her on your staff. The food was great. Thank you so much for making my wife's birthday special. "Always a great experience at Tria. Excellent food and service. Only downside were the chairs. We were seated in a great spot back by the fireplace but the chairs were so old that you sunk through the cushions. I'm pregnant and found it so uncomfortable I wanted to get up and leave right when we were done eating and normally we like to sit and enjoy dessert and coffee. My husband felt the same so I knew it wasn't just because I'm pregnant."

"The server obviously catered more to the tables she thought would tip better. Too bad my boyfriend and I both work in restaurants part time and love to tip 30-40%. It took 15 minutes for our server to greet us, and another 15 for our drinks. She forgot our appetizer, did not bring us bread rolls and my food came out cold. It's understandable about the food being cold, I realize that happens, but it took her 15 minutes to come see if everything was ok, even though I had been flagging her down. Everything about the service we received from her was awful. We were there for almost 3 hours.She kept saying how busy she was and hoped we'd understand, but there were plenty of open tables around. It wasn't even a full house."
