Jewel by Tom Schaudel
Jewel by Tom Schaudel is a farm to table restaurant offering the bounty of Long Island's fishermen, farmers, and growers. Our contemporary American menu allows you the choice of casual or special occasion dining. There are three private rooms that seat from 16 to 30 guests and a chef's table with seating up to ten. Our award winning international wine list has over two hundred selections as well as twenty by the glass and boasts the most comprehensive list of local wines on Long Island. The Dallago designed interior welcomes you with a casual sophistication and a warm inviting glow. Reservations are suggested. "I've been to Jewel a few times now and as always the service and the food were excellent. Each visit I try something different. This time I opted for one of the specials which were scallops over a risotto. I can't tell you which was better - everything just melted as I ate it. For an appetizer I had the lobster mac & cheese which was absolutely amazing!"

"Excellent food. Went here for Long Island Restaurant Week and was very pleasantly surprised. It's in an odd but convenient location. Lively, looks like a fun place to go with friends (was a bit noisy, but we were able to have a conversation at our table with no problem) and I enjoyed the vibrancy of it. Was pricey but all this was compensated for with the excellent meal. Would definitely go back."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The service was excellent. The food was plentiful and delicious and there were items on the menu that we had never seen and/or never had prepared that way. The restaurant is absolutely lovely and we would not hesitate to return or to recommend it to others."

"We've been to Jewel before, but this week we went for Restaurant Week. Despite the busy crowd, the food was delicious, service impeccable, servings quite generous, and the ambiance was really cool. A little bit of Palm Springs, and Manhattan on Long Island!"

"Our party was 11 people, we had a reservation and we waited 25 minutes to be seated. Couldn't wait at the bar as most were under 21. Service was inattentive. Food was good, not great.Lobster with Risotto was delicious. Butternut Squash lasagna was not. Birthday dessert showed up with an unlit candle. Tom Shaudel has great restaurants, this is not one of his best when it comes to service."

"We came for mother's day dinner, which was a fixed menu with many of the regular entrees on it. All courses from appetizers to dessert were very good and presented well. The space is huge and the decor is off beat and funky. The wine list is not as impressive as the see through wine cellar would inspire and the selections are dominated by local wines. The food is tasty, if somewhat trendy in the combinations and plating, but well worth the time and investment especially for a date or special occasion. The staff is friendly but at times not as polished as you might expect. But this takes nothing away from the experience. We would return."

"Enjoy dining here always during LI Restaurant week. Usually the normal menu is too expensive for anything other than special occasions.
However, the place is so beautiful, food is excellent and service is attentive.
This year found that the price fix menu didn't offer enough standard choices without having to pay an up charge( supplemental) which this year was much higher than previous. Some of those charges were totally ridiculous. (16.00, 20.00 & 22.00) 0ver an already increased price fix. Even the skirt steak was increased to 10.00 extra over 5.00 previously."

"My husband & I made a reservation for 6;15and arrived at 6:10. The hostess wanted to sit us at the bar. We told her we wanted to sit in the dining room. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait. We said ok. After waiting about 20 minutes we saw the hostess sitting a couple that arrived well after we did. When I questioned this we were told that she "forgot " about us and again tried to sit us at the bar. We again said no. She told us it would be 15 minutes. I objected and told her that waiting a half hour when I made a reservation was unacceptable and asked to speak with the Manager. He gave us a table almost immediately. The waiter forgot to bring us bread and the coffees we ordered.Food was well prepared."

1) We had reservations through open table (9:00pm on a Saturday). The hostess had a table ready immediately. She walked us to a bar top table adjacent to the large bar. We were sandwiched in between two other tables. We asked to switch seats and they said the wait would be an additional 20 minutes. So we remained at a bar top. Normally, this would not bother me. But the fact is for the price you pay for food, this type of seating should not be what you receive! I feel like these are the tables they use when they overbook!!

"We dine out all time. This restaurant is by far one of the best. From the bar to dining experience & staff. I thought the prices would have been much higher. The only issue is they were backed up with reservations. We had no problem with it, just had a great time."

"Another great dining spot by Tom Schaudel. Food was delicious - appetizers Beet Salad and Almost Caesar were yummy, and we both sprung for the Lobster, each of which contained a full 1-1/4 lb. Only off note was our waitress, who didn't seem to have a service personality - everyone else was excellent, however. We sat upstairs, which meant we could converse easily. However, by 8:50 when we left, even the main area seemed to have only a moderate noise level. The place was jumping when we arrived, which made me happy, as I'm glad to see one of our fave LI chefs succeed again. Lots of parking, both self-park or valet. Whether you work anywhere near Route 110 or not, definitely go."

"This place is in a very odd place, it looks like an office building and was hard to find. Once you walk in it is very surprising and very attractive. The food was excellant, however my appetizer the octopus was very tough. I told the server, who told the chef. They took it off the bill and offered us a after dinner Moscato. I really appreciate that type of service. Other than that the food was very very good. I would recommend."

"We went for my boyfriends birthday, and it was lovely! The decor is very warm and inviting. The octopus appetizer was our favorite. I ordered the sea bass with lobster sauce, and I couldn't get enough! It was simply amazing! We already can't wait to go back!"

"the vibe inside the place was alive and energetic. the food was delicious and the presentation was great. the waiter staff was friendly and attentive. unfortunately we were not able to experiencethe full beauty of the restaurantdue to the fact that we were seated right next to the bar on a hockey table with bar stools. even with reservations well in advance we were not able to sit in the main dining area. we were told we would have to wait an additional 45 minutes from out 8 o'clock reservation time if we wanted to sit in the dining room. if I wanted to sit and eat next to a bar I could have went to a pub but we were there to enjoy the beauty of the restaurant. The food was great, seating location was less then expected."
