Brasserie L'Oustau brings a new American interpretation of classic French foods served at brasseries throughout Provence, an area of southern France famous for sun-kissed produce and seafood harvested fresh from the Mediterranean.
"Three friends and I had dinner here recently and were more than pleased with the service, ambiance, and especially the food (the pot de creme is to die for). Although it was a Saturday night, the place was nearly empty. The next day we spoke to a local shopkeeper and asked her about the place. She said she hadn't heard good things about it. Well, we want to change that! We're from out of town and consider ourselves moderate foodies. This place is a real find. I hope more locals as well as out-of-towners discover this place so that Manchester doesn't lose this gem."

"Often one can tell the quality of food in a restaurant right from the start with the bread. The baguette at the Brasserie was completely delicious. It was a clue to the rest of our meal. I had the escargot which were served beautifully with a puff pastry crust hiding a classic garlic butter sauce which I had to lap up with more bread. I then had the trout which was perfectly prepared and presented. The Bella Martini with pear vodka was outstanding. The Redwood muscat for dessert was perfect. FInding this type of restaurant in Vermont is not an easy task. I have already made plans to go back for brunch with my friends."

"the food was pretty good, but the service and ambience was a big letdown. no one there seemed like they wanted to work or be there at all and wasnt really paying attention to anything."

"LOVE Brasserie L'Oustau...dined there for the second time this past weekend and have decided that anytime we visit the area, we'll always have a meal there. The Owner is always there and is a total gentleman, checks in on diners throughout the meal, greets you as you enter the restaurant and bids you adieu as you leave, he obviously really cares about his business and each diner's experience. The food is superb, from appetizer to the dessert. The other night I had a delicious beet salad followed by steak frites and then a pot de creme dessert...I walked out of the restaurant beyond satisfied. Only thing I'd suggest is more diverse wine list, but that won't stop us from visiting!"

"My venison was great. My friends liver was too The prix fixed chicken was fair as not as hot as the women would have liked and partly overcooked. It was Tuesday so the place was not crowded. I would go back as the food was fairly priced and service was great!"

"We're regulars here but this was our first mid-week visit and, as usual, Michel and staff did not disappoint. My wife had the Lamb Shank Tagine and pronounced it her best meal there yet. I had the Steak Frites with Sauce Bernaise and it too was excellent and featured their extraordinary fries (these alone are worth a visit). We began the evening in their cozy bar with drinks and a shared portion of their fabulous Sweet Potato & Black Truffle Agnolotti. All in all, yet another delicious evening at our favorite area eatery."

"First time we tried this place on our annual ski trip. Excellent. Definitely going back there. Service was excellent, food was excellent. If you have just a few nights in the Manchester area, and like this type of menu (and it is hard not to), we strongly suggest going there."
