"The cocktails are incredibly creative, with a very, very extensive list. My friends and I debated between regular Large Plates for entrees or a bunch of Small Plates. Small Plates won, and the variety of ingredients and flavors were wonderful. Our waiter Travis was very knowledgeable, helpful with recommendations, friendly, and attentive but not intrusive. The decor was very interesting and fun. A totally enjoyable and delicious experience."

"Food was outstanding (particularly the burger). Drinks good (so I'm told) and the beer selection was excellent. The place is almost too hip for words, but was fun for us. Only downside was how loud it was. Almost hard to hear each other. But, overall, great fun. We'll go again."

"My only complaint about this place is the chairs. I was so so so uncomfortable in my seat, that I couldn't wait to leave. The food was excellent, and I would have loved to eat desert, but my back hurt so bad sitting there that we had to leave ASAP."

"Our Sunday brunch food was very good, but it took about an hour for it to arrive after we ordered it. By the time it arrived most of my dining companions had several refills of the "bottomless mimosas," which are also very good. The waiter was helpful and came to the table numerous times to apologize (my poor service rating is not a reflection on him, but the kitchen). This was our first time and we might go back (yes, the food and drinks were that good), but if we have to wait an hour again, that will be the end of it. It's a shame, this restaurant has a lot going for it, but based on the other reviews I see, our experience isn't isolated."

"I don't like slamming a restaurant, but Gordon Ramsay would have a field day with this place. Only after we made reservations, drove there, sat down, and ordered, were we informed that they send food out when the kitchen has made it, not when the table's complete order is ready. 53 minutes after we sat down, one person's order came out. 5 minutes later, the second order came out. 2 minutes later, the first person's side order came out. 5 minutes later, the second person's side order came out (eggs, to be put on top of the biscuits and gravy, which were now lukewarm). 5 minutes later, they brought out the Mother's entree (yes, it was Mother's Day). Their coffee is french press and slow coming...resulting in only 3/4 of a cup poured."

"I have to start with what was the best part of our meal...the service. Our waiter was attentive, knowlegable, and never made us feel rushed! More importantly, fis food and drink recommendations were spot on!

The food was unusual, but terrific. We shared three small plates and split an entree and everything was well prepared, creative, and tasty. The menu has a nice variety.

The drinks and view were incredible. Looking right at downtown, you can sit on the patio for hours sampling a variety of unique drinks and a large assortment of fresh punches."

"I'd heard about this place for some time. My husband and I were both very disappointed, however. The drinks came in the type of old fashioned champagne glasses from the 1960's. Although they were tasty, for $6-8 you got about 4 sips. We tried the grilled oysters ($18 for 5), and they were horrid. Also, the Kobe meatballs, short ribs, and lamb burgers were just so-so. We should have sent some plates back but didn't want to complain. The French Fries were, by far, the only thing notable on the table. For over $100 for two people, I'd expect a whole lot more."

"The Cedars Social always comes up trumps. The small plate selection is excellent. Very hard not to order the whole menu!!! Whether its grilled oysters, sweetbreads, braised ribs or truffle mac and cheese, they are all excellent. While its know for its excellent selection of cocktails, its definitely worth trying the food. Its also the best spot for dinner before a Palladium concert. We finished perfectly on time to walk over, and could leave our car in the same parking spot."

"The reasons I give 4 stars for the service are because we had a 7:15 reservation & was seated 30 mins later, which is no big deal but we were asked to leave our table because another reservation was waiting. And it's not like we had camped out, we had 2 bottles of wine, additional cocktails, appetizers, salads, meals & a desert in a reasonable amount of time. That said, the food is wonderful & we loved the atmosphere. Will go again."

"The drink menu is fabulous as are the drinks. The food is ridiculously expensive and not very good at all. We ordered a cheese board, price $19. It had four different types of cheese, each one probably two ounces or less. It allegedly comes with olives and almonds...think again. They place a teaspoon of chopped almonds on one edge and literally put three olives on the board! Finally to add insult to injury, the board had four, I repeat four crackers!For four of us, 6 drinks and four appetizers, which left us hungry and were far from good, we spent $200 plus tip. Ouch!"

"The food was good the atmosphere was nice. There were 7 of us and we got there at a reasonable time, when it wasn't too busy. At first, our server seemed put out by us. Eventually, he warmed up, after we worked on him for awhile. I don't know if I would go back, as I don't visit Dallas that often, but I think that people should definitely check it out. The cocktails are great."

"What a great find! We were in Dallas for the weekend and stumbled across this place almost by accident. The brussel sprouts were outstanding - as was everything we tried on the menu. Tacos, shrimp and grits, and pork belly all will drive us there again in the future. Need to plan a winter trip when the fire is going. just wonderful."

"A great experience from top to bottom! I had heard of the amazing barteneders, (although they really should be called mixologists....they make CRAFT drinks,) and I couldn't wait to see what they could do for me.
Upon sitting down at the bar, I was promptly given a menu of drinks. It was a little overwhelming, but I picked one. It was delicious and after that I let the bartenders choose my drinks for the evening.
I knew that I would be eating as well. I ordered a half dozen oysters and they were some of the best Oysters I had ever had.
My next course was the Pork Belly and finished with the truffled mac n cheese. The food was amazing!"

"I had heard many nice things about this restaurant...but 1)It was LOUD! My partner and I literally had to lean over the table to hear each other. 2) my fried egg sandwich was served without the applewood bacon and if the tiny piece of lettuce and sliver of tomato was for show, I nearly missed it. The fried egg, though, was heavenly, as was the grilled asparagus. The waiter, Garrett, I think, was funny and attentive and hurried to the kitchen to retrieve the missing bacon."

"We decided to try The Cedars Social after going to the Smyth Bar, which are owned by the same people.

We arrived early and noticed that the bar was full, although the dining area was empty. We were seated and our waiter, Garrett, asked us if we would like something from the bar. The bartenders at The Cedars Social are professional bartenders (some of them are also at the Smyth Bar) and are knowledgable in the arcane arts of mixology, so I ordered a Sazerac. The drink came out perfect.

When we were ready to order, Garrett went over the menu with us. He hadnt just memorized the menu like normal waiters, for it seemed that he knew how each dish was prepared.

We loved this place and will be back."

"Our brunch at The Cedars Social was, in short, a disaster. Massively understaffed, we waited 15 minutes for our drinks and another hour for our food. And then, one of the meals was incorrect.

To its credit, the cocktails were great and they did comp us for the messed up plate. Our server was apologetic -- but not once did a manager (not sure if one was even on staff that day) come over to apologize or address.

This is just another example of a restaurant that is far too concerned about being hip and cool, and nowhere near enough concerned about delivering a good dining experience."

"The food is great! One thing to note is that the plates are all technically small plates for sharing. Even though the menu shows them as Large/Big plates, they're still small.

I'd bypass the steak frites for other small plates, based on both price ($24), size (four little bigger than bite size pieces of steak), and flavor (medium was cooked closer to medium well). There were an abundance of delicious frites however! There was a lot more flavor in the other small/big plates, so I'd recommend getting two other small plates instead of this one expensive plate.

I will be back again for dinner, and to try out brunch!"

"Really awesome experience as always! Never eaten anything here I've not loved & the drinks are fantastic! Really small selection of large plates but still had a hard time deciding which is a testament to how good everything is. The waiter was very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and always available. He knew the complex ingredients of pretty much every drink which is saying something for a drink menu the size of the phone book!
2 drawbacks - 1) Very loud! but I guess its hard to avoid since its so popular and crowded. 2) Please bring back the celery cup drink! I loved it!

"Despite the bumpy start with our waitstaff not able to find the first two wines we ordered, the food was great and with help we did get the first wine of choice. Very noisy so if you plan to have an intimate conversation, look for another place."

"I had this spot on my radar for a long time. When I noticed that they had a $24 prime rib special, mu husband and I made reservations. Service started out poor: I ordered a dewars and soda. Server comes back to tell me they do not have that brand. Asked what brands they had...server comes back with a handwritten list. I order one from his list. Guess what...they dont have that one either. By this time it is getting comical. I order a third brand...you guessed it...not in stock. For my fourth choice, the server says " the bartender recommends an Oban". So I ordered an Oban.
Don't even let me rate the meal. Not edible. Tough and fatty entrees. Will not be back."

"Got in with our reservations on time which was great because we had heard that you don't get seated on time....we did! It took an uncomfortably long time for our waiter to take our drink order but after that everything was perfect!"

"Constructive Opinion:
Lower your tapas prices because your food is not that sophisticated or complex.
Advise all wait staff of unavailable wines, drinks or food items as conditions unfold.
Advise patrons of small tapas portions.
Offer a clean serving plate when additional food items are served (who wants to combine completely different sauces from one dish to another?).
When patrons have reservations and the restaurant is half empty ask if they have a preference for seating (I stared at a wall with my back to all the restaurant vibe).
Tell your patrons that your parking lot has attendants standing by a sign that says $10 but you they only need to let them know you are a diner."

"Not crazy about the food, it's ok, but very few healthy options. On Saturday night, the service was very, very slow. We love the atmosphere, view of downtown and good energy. If they had some things on the menu that are healthy, we would be regulars."

"Great atmosphere! Very Romantic with a fire put in the middle of the restaurant. Don't come super hungry because they serve mostly Tapas which are small portions. Food was excellent but I left hungry:( I would recommend!"
