"Wonderful ambience...I had the feta/beet/spinach salad. It was better the last time I came...needed more feta. My friend had the fries and they looked burnt when they came to the table. The other friend had chicken wings and loved them. The staff brought both hot dishes but I had to ask for my salad after about 10 minutes...they forgot me!"

"If you are looking for a venue just to dance and have fun with your partner or a group and you don't really care about the food... Lula is the place. The fact is, I really enjoy the live music and the atmosphere. However my most recent experience with the Mother's Day Brunch was very disappointing to say the least....I guess you get what you pay for, but it shouldn't be the reason you run short of food., it was really imbarassing for my guests. They tried to ease the frustration and the ambarassment but the damage was already done. My Family will not be returning."

"The food at Lula was amazing. It was flavourful, large portions, and accommodating to health concerns (dietary needs). I would definitely go back because of the food. I had the Trio of Dips - all great but a warning that they contain cilantro (which the menu does not state) for those who aren't a fan. I also ordered the steak - huge portion, cooked perfectly, amazing and flavourful sauces on the side, the green bean salad was awesome and garlicky.
The service however, was the worst I've had in a long time. We were one of the first tables seated and yet were the last table to give our orders, get drinks, or food. The entertainment was well under way before our meals were delivered - some tables were already finishing their desserts!"

"The most pleasant surprise to me is the quality of food. I ordered a steak and it's delicious. I would say it is the best steak I have so far. Even better than The Keg and other steak house. Parking is not a problem too. On every occasion I managed to find a parking spot right in front of the lounge."

"What can I say.....drove in from Brampton as the reviews on this place read well. The reality was much different got there at 11:30am after a very difficult time trying to locate parking. There were only 8 brunch itmes (most of which was empty) to chose from all cold and no eggs or bacon as listed on the brunch menu. The best I had to eat was bread with butter and salad. Not once did a waitress approach our table to ask us what we wanted to drink and after numerous attempts of trying to get their attention I went to the bar myself and ordered an orange juice...not freshly squeezed but from a bottle. Needless to say I think I was there for 20 mins after which I asked for the bill and left. I paid NO tip I will never visit this place again"

"The concert at the Lula Lounge was fabulous. It has a great reputation for bringing in acts that would not be able to perform at other venues in the city. We really like Lula Lounge for providing a space for international music, especially African acts, and will continue supporting it and attending its events for this reason."

"This restaurant has a great atmosphere and the Sunday brunch is actually tasty, but the service was pretty terrible. Whoever was managing did not make themselves seen too often and left the seemingly inexperienced floor-staff to fend for themselves when multiple errors and problems seemed to arise. Under better management this place could be really amazing."

"We were there to watch the Somba Squad and had a blast doing so. Very different scene than I am use to, the live show was amazing and I had a table with a great view of the show as I had requested. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing (I had the steak). I enjoyed experiencing the different culture with a widely diverse friendly energetic crowd. After we ate we joined in on the floor and danced the night away with a few hundred other people.

"There are few places outside of Cuba where you will find such high energy, pure, unadulterated Cuban rhythm. We went for a friday night special- Dinner salsa lesson and the best latin music in Toronto. Total price with wine $183 for two. If you factor in the high quality of the live music and an atmosphere of enthusiastic salsa dancing I left feeling i got great value for my money. Best night out in a long time. Felt i was in Havanna. The night we went Jorge Maza Y Tipica was playing. Absolutely amazing"

"I would not choose this venue again for dining. It is way overpriced, and the service was very slow. As a night club, it's great, the Cuban bands are awesome,and I enjoy the atmosphere. The only problem is that unless you dine, you will probably have to stand up all night."

The band/music are quiet enough to have a conversation during dinner, and the live music following dinner was excellent and certainly gets the entire crowd on their feet. "Went there with just DH and still had a good time. A few other couples were there and a few really large groups. Food was better than I expected. The beef & chicken stew was excellent and they used good quality breakfast sausages. Everything was hot and well cooked. Liked that they kept the food area clean and well stocked. Was surprised they left the food out - nice touch for those who wanted to snack or those who arrived late. Drinks were a little pricey but it was alright. Would have been nice if the server replenished our water but were happy to do so when we asked. Dance lesson was easy and fun for us virgins. There were a few people who obviously already knew the moves but there was no grandstanding/showoffs. Would def come back."

"I was really looking forward to this brunch and I was a little disappointed in the selection of food. I've had dinner there before and the food was far superior at dinner time. The brunch was just ok. The service was also ok. Perhaps, because of the brunch the service is not pushed as much, but I'd made a larger reservation for a birthday party and was phoned a few times about it (which made me a little nervous because there seemed to be a lot of confusion.) When my party arrived they had somehow got my reservation mixed up (despit all the calls beforehand.) That was a little frustrating but we made it work. The salsa dancing was the highlight by far and made the experience."

"I am a fan of Cafe con Pan (I have their latest CD) but they did not come across well at Lula Lounge on the evening we were there. Somehow their voices seemed muffled and lacked clarity. Was it the loudspeakers? Perhaps with their wonderful ,natural style of music it would be better to perform without the amplification. Worth a try!"

"I usually go to Lula Lounge for Salsa Saturdays because I love that they have live bands. This time I decided to try out the restaurant and it was absolutely amazing. The black bean soup was delicious, the steak was certainly worth the additional $4. For dessert we had an apple slices on a pastry with homemade butter caramel sauce it was mouth watering. The only thing I would mention is that they need to update their website in regards to their menu. I saw that they had listed Ceviche online but was a little disappointed when it was not on the menu once I had arrived. Overall great place to eat and dance the night away."
