Celebrating 13 years of Emilia-Romagna in Seattle Since 1998, when La Spiga opened its doors at its previous location, our commitment to quality has always been our philosophy. All menu items are prepared from scratch using whole foods and house made stocks. You will find no artificial or chemical food enhancers in our kitchen, ever. We use, whenever possible, local and sustainable flour, eggs (organic), and produce (organic when possible). Our meats are hormone and antibiotic free, humanely raised and local when possible. We use quality Italian extra virgin olive oil in all our food preparation and rice oil for frying. We use only authentic Parmigiano Reggiano. Our homemade flat bread, Piadina, is Vegan. We compost and separate our recycling. Our building was built under strict green guidelines and recycled materials were used in its design. We hope you can appreciate our on-going efforts to offer our customers the best possible dining experience in all aspects. Thank you!
"We had a great evening at La Spiga on Saturday night for dinner. We were seated on the patio and received great service from our waitress who was also very knowledgeable on the wine list. Overall, great dining experience with a fun atmosphere."

"Osteria La Spiga has retained its personal touch. Sabrina's vision in the kitchen is matched by hiring great staff who never fail to meet requests for special treatment with a smile and competency."

"This is far above the average high end Italian restaurant. The decor is cool yet cozy, the food is very original, delicious and excellently executed and the service was spot on. There's not a thing that should be changed here."

"La Spiga never seems to be able to put the whole package together. They have a charming location, outstanding food, good wine, but why can't they have enough waitpersons on staff to deliver good service? We had to wait over 20 minutes before the waiter came to our table. We could see him buzzing around delivering food, etc. but he didn't have a chance to get to us. Clearly there were not enough wait staff."

"We enjoyed our dinner out very much. We had great service & wonderful food . We loved the velvety smooth spinach pasta in our lasagna. Since it was early ( 5:45p ) can't really comment on the noise. My husband was a carpenter & loved the earthquake retro fitting & all the great beams & wood paneling. We will be back, thanks."

"Food is AMAZING! Not to mention very reasonable prices. Every time we come to Seattle we go to La Spiga. It is has been fabulous every single time (20+ visits at this point). We also recommend to friends and business associates. Everyone thanks us for helping them discover La Spiga!"

"I have been to this restaurant several times in the past few years and it is one of my favorite spots in Seattle. The staff are knowledgeable, amiable, and attentive. The space itself is masterfully designed -- there really is no bad seat in the house. The food is delicious and perfectly portioned. What I like most about the menu is that you walk away feeling like you really got an authentic taste of the Emilia-Romagna region, not just re-imagined or reinterpreted catch-all Italian dishes you could get anywhere. The wine list is comprehensive but I would recommend even stopping in for a drink or two. The bartenders are so friendly and will craft any cocktail you could be in the mood for. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!"

"We have been going to La Spiga for more than a decade and were among the first loyal guests while it was still the family-run business on Broadway. While the restaurant has certainly grown over the years, the wine servings have shrunk. The amount of Sangiovese I received recently was so small that I pointed it out to a server. She acknowledged that the amount served was "under average" and returned with a never-seen-before server. This one lectured us on the "appropriateness" of the serving and that I could "take it or leave it". The owner who we have known since the inception of the place was not around. Making an extra buck with undersized servings and second-guessing of long-time loyal customers cannot be a sustainable business model."

"Went for Mothers Day dinner with my husband and daughter. We had a nice time. The restaurant was pleasant but not special. I had the prime rib which was quite good. The grilled asparagus was also very tasty. My husband had veal, which was a most unappetizing looking blob on a plate. The portions were rather small. I am a small woman, and I ate every bite and had room for dessert. This was good for me, but would not be good for a regular size adult male.
Also, our waitress did her best, but the service was slow because she was assigned too many tables. She was pleasant and helpful, but the meal took a long time. I do not think it was her fault at all.
For the prices charged, I expected a little better."

"This is my fall back restaurant for last minute reservation restaurants. It is huge and on the louder side but the food is consistently good. My only complaint is not an insignificant one: don't order wines by the glass as they have been opened for a day or more sitting on a hot counter. Hopefully, this review will correct this problem"

"The natural grain wood and naked steel is perfect for the modern Seattle setting. The food is excellent. The service and the staff's familiarity with thier wines was good. We appreciate a menu with chicken and fish options, perhaps these may be added and we will be back."

"Food was amazing as always, the truffle pasta (forgot the official name) and the gnocchi was excellent. The trout special wasn't very special, sadly. The wine guy gave us a $15 discount on a bottle, but on the 2nd bottle he didn't. For a $110.00 bottle, you would think they would honor the same discount, for repeat business?Kinda shady, but I still love the place. I just know not to order their wine expecting a discount..."

"La Spiga could not have been more perfect! We were two couples getting away from kids for a nice dinner and conversation. Though late for our reservation yet we were still seated, but she let us know they had *only* booked our table for 2.5 (most places rush you out in half that time). We all ordered from the 3-course "Restaurant Week" menu and literally every single dish elicited "ooohs and ahhs" and insistence that everyone try a bite. My husband said the beet dish was the best presentation he had ever tasted and I loved the radicchio with pork belly. Hands down favorites were the pasta with truffle butter and the blueberry sorbet for dessert. Ambiance was lively without being noisy and the upstairs party room looked great for an event."

"This was my 1st visit to la Spiga. The food was excellent, we had the Crostini and Flan appetizer. Both were excellent, also the seasonal salad with Asparagus and peas was to die for. The deep fried artichokes were a nice compliment to the crisp asparagus. I also recommend the veal, sliced thinly and served with a compliment of briny savory flavors. I also recommend a dash of the bono olive oil to increase the richness of the dish. We also had the Tortelli agli asparagi which was also well prepared with fresh flavors. We topped it all off with the Tartufo Bianco. Don’t forget the espresso!"

"I have been there a number of times - this was the worst overall experience - they were out of a number of items on the menu - the food we did receive was tasteless (Halibut) or over-salted (oxtail) and there not busy enough to warrant the average level of service."

"I've dined here many times and this is the first time I really found fault with La Spiga. II think La Spiga is a great restaurant, but I was disappointed in the sprozzipretti. It clearly was made by a machine and lacked the handmade quality that I was looking for. The service was marginal, which was also disappointing. The menu is exceptional, as is the wine selection."

"the building is lovely - service was excellent - attentive, willing to roll with change - we had two people join us in the middle of dinner, friendly, and knowledgeable.
The food was good, but mine, at least was not outstanding. My soup could have used more seasoning, and my oxtails were a bit too salty - dessert was excellent. Other's meals seemed more satisfying. In general though, a lovely spot, and I would happily try again. Nice and interesting part of Seattle too."

"I've frequented this restaurant when they were at their original location on Broadway. Its great to see how they have grown. I love it! Unfortunately this trip they had overcooked my pork chop but did not hestitate to fix the issue and credit my meal."

"Great food. Had to wait a very long time for our wine which had not been chilled and was warmer than we would have liked. Waitress was average and walked away multiple times while my mother-in-law was complimenting the food. Several times we mentioned how long we were waiting for items ordered. We were a group of 4 and the first 2 dishes came out 8 minutes before the other two. Service and timing can be improved but I'd go back for the food."

"Slightly dissapointed after reading reviews and being refered by an acquaintance. The most enjoyable thing on the menu was the simple cheese plate. The pasta dishes were fresh but the flavors were underwhelming and dishes were pricey. Great space but if I go back it may be for just a glass of wine."

"I've eaten at La Spiga three times before and really loved it. However, I was not as happy this time. The service was not very good; the waiter left for long periods and didn't check on us. The bread was pita bread but didn't come with hummus or even olive oil or something to eat on it. Just plain pita. The lasagna I had was delicious and my husband and I shared a salad, which was good. My other complaint is with the lighting. We sat in this wonderful booth that had a beautiful light above it but it like being under interrogation- it was so bright and in my face. This is a good restaurant with some delicious food, but attention to details is slipping a little."
