"Village Tavern restaurant is certainly a favorite one. Selection of dishes is very good, freshness & quality just superb. One favorite dish of many, is the "Spaghetti Squash", a unique blend of various vegetables. Atmosphere is relaxing, large tables that offer privacy. Service? with no exception is always fantastic. Since this restaurant is popular among locals & tourists, reservations are recommended. Thumbs up, Tavern!"

"Village Tavern is one of our regular "go to" restaurants for getting together for casual meals with friends. I usually alternate between their Fish Tacos (messy, but a treat) and their Grilled Meatloaf. The restaurant has become so popular that even in the off season we now are careful to make reservations."

"My wife and I visit Scottsdale several times a year. The Village Tavern is a regular stop. I was in town for a week this time and I had dinner there three times. I can always count on good food and service. I never feel rushed."

"It was a busier than expected Sunday evening following the Master's Golf tournament. Tracy was our helpful server. The New England clam chowder is a favorite. Salads were served as requested. Refills of iced tea were provided without prompting. Very nice, although a bit noisy in the main dining room."

"Attractive dining spot, very good ambiance, comfortable. The service was excellent, our waitress was attentive and on the spot when we needed her. There is an extensive menu making it difficult to choose but that's a good challenge. Drinks were well done and reasonably priced. Appetizers were quick to arrive and excellent. The entrees themselves were good to very good but not great. To be as objective as possible this is not gourmet dining but, on the other hand, they were not bad either. A fair comparison would be that the cuisine is on the level of a Cheesecake Factory. Overall it was an enjoyable experience that will be visited again."

"We come here relatively often because of the variety on the menu, the quality of the food and the good service. I tried the Cowboy Chicken for the first time, and it may be my new favorite here, though the Chicken Marsala is always great. Our friends ordered the Freshly Fried Potato Chips as an appetizer because they really like them, and we agree that they were very good. Our server was very friendly and joked with us a bit which made the evening even more enjoyable."

"We love the Village Tavern - it's a perennial favorite and we take guests there often. The food has always been great, the service is usually very good. Not this time. Service was awful. Our server brought us water and left abruptly without taking our drink order, not returning for 10 minutes or more. Finally took our drink order, then did the same abrupt disappearing act without asking if we wanted appetizers. We eventually learned to quickly blurt out what we wanted or needed next, before he disappeared each time. Had to ask for a 4th place setting several times. He forgot our 2nd round of drinks, asked if we still wanted them after we were done with our meals. We didn't. This birthday celebration dinner was very disappointing."

"Dined at the Village Tavern on a Sunday evening with my wife and overall it was pretty good, but I was disappointed in their Crab Cakes. We're from Maryland and love good Crab Cakes. Those at the Village Tavern didn't make the grade; flat, dry, over-cooked and lacking large lumps of crab. We'll go back, but not for the Crab Cakes. There are other restaurants in the Valley that have great Maryland Crab Cakes."

"We were in from out of state, and went here on recommendation from the resort we were staying at. Food was excellent, service very good. The only thing I would have liked to see different is to be able to make a reservation to site outside on the patio."

"Village Tavern is our "go to" restaurant for celebrating special occasions, or just gathering with family and friends. Their menu is varied enough that all of us (except my vegan son) can find something we like, and their kids' menu appeals to our granddaughter. Sunday brunch is very good. Service is pleasant and attentive."

"1. Arrived early with a reservation. Short wait with a pager. 2. Had to wait about 4 minutes at reception desk after pager went off while someone got some menus! 3. Waitress did not speak loud enough to understand what she was saying. 4. Had to wait about 40 minutes after ordering for food to arrive. In the meantime, no bread was offered and all we had were our drinks. We found out later that you had to ask for break if you wanted it but we felt we should have been asked if we wanted it. 5. Our waitress was slow and would saunter from table to table while all other waiters and waitresses seemed to scurry around to take care of customers. 6. Manager offered free deserts after we complained about service. Food was excellent."

"We sat in the bar but ordered from a regular menu, the food was very good, large portions and the service was great. We enjoyed the house wine, it was very good. I would recommend it any time. They have a nice patio if you want outdoor seating."

"Wednesdays are half-price wine nights. It's always crowded, so it's good to have an Open Table reservation. Once again, the food was delicious. We keep trying different things, but the baby back ribs and chicken marsala are still our favorites."

"My wife had a pepperoni pizza that was very greasy and I had shrimp and grits but there were hardly any grits too it. It was like a soup. My son had ribs and said they were very good. I don't think we'll be going back."

"Food was exceptionally good, as usual, and impressed our guests who are in the food distribution business. In spite of them being very difficult customers by their fussy ordering and demanding special items cooked just so, our server, Alex, was calm and courteous throughout the ordeal. However, we will be back, alone!"

"Village Tavern is always dependable for the quality of its food and service. Whether it is Ahi Tuna dinner or a special hamburger, satisfaction is guaranteed! In addition, the seating is comfortable with booths that are spacious for four but can fit six as well. The bar is also comfortable with a fireplace and many seating options. It is truly a neighborhood gem!"

"Good value and varied menu. Seating is in booths, so it's easy to carry on a conversation despite the "buzz" all around you. We were team-served by an experienced waiter and a trainee. All went well until the end, when we were presented with the bill without being offered coffee or dessert."
