The Cafe features a casual and lively atmosphere and a wide range of menu options. Open for lunch and dinner every day, the Cafe is the perfect place for kicking back and relaxing.

"This is one of our favorite restaurants to bring out of town guests for the food and the view. We had visitors from England and had made reservations well in advance with a request for outside table. We arrived early after raving all day about the cafe to be told they don't allow reservations for the deck despite the comment on the web site that states "Reservations are accepted and recommended, walk-ins are welcome." If we had know that, we would have arrived earlier. VERY disappointing especially when for 30 minutes several tables outside were empty.
But the food as always didn't disappoint, the service was good. We just won't plan for this to be our "Go To" spot in the future."

"Ray's Cafe was a great choice for Mother's Day dinner. We arrived at about 5:15pm for a 5:45 reservation and were seated immediately. Being Mother's Day the restaurant was more energetic and louder than usual. Service was good, the waitress took our orders soon and drinks came fast. I started with a cup of clam chowder, it arrived warm but not hot. The bread which is usually served hot was served cold. My wife and I both enjoyed our entrees; mine was grilled salmon, potatoes, and asparagus, very good. My wife's seared tuna was perfect for her. We shared an order of ice cream for dessert. By the time we left the restaurant was full and service was slower. Ray's was, and is, a great choice for lunch or dinner."

"We've been coming to Ray's for about 12 years for Mother's Day Brunch, absolutely the best brunch in Seattle in my opinion. Food is always very delicious, seafood is fresh and never disappoints.
The only comment I would have this time is our table location. We were awkwardly seated very near the buffet and the door to the patio so every time someone came in or out we got a gust of cold air and felt a bit like people in line for food were hovering over us."

"The buffet is the best one I have attended for many reasons. The variety of food was amazing. The freshness due to the smaller containers at the buffet table was incredible. The mini desserts was perfect, it allowed you to try mutliple desserts without wasting any food. The choice of breakfast, lunch and seafood all in one setting was wondeful! I really liked the Ahi and oysters on the half shell."

"Recommend reservations, We had them and were ushered almost immediately to our table. The food was excellent, the service great. I was a bit concerned about getting served quickly as we had a concert to attend. No worries folks, we even had time for a second glass of wine!"

"I ordered the salted caramel desert, but I never received it. I didn't bring it to our server's attention, because I figured I didn't want it that much after all! But I forgot to look on our check to see if I was charged for it. Can you look to see if I was? The receipt I have isn't itemized. "Great Gluten Free menu and I APPRECIATE THAT! The wait staff is good and so are the bussers. But I stood at the front desk for approx. 3 to 5 minutes with 5 employees standing behind the desk and not one greeted me until I said something to them. I was quite surprised. I actually said "Wow 5 people and not one greeting". The male receptionist finally looked at me and said we will be right with you and then it took another 2 minutes. Overall the staff doesn't seem Happy. The music they play is very loud and it makes it hard to have a conversation without having to raise your voice. Many times I had to ask the people I was with to repeat themselves as I couldn't hear them."

"Our out-of-town guests enjoyed the food but the view, the main reason for choosing Ray's over other excellent seafood restaurants in Seattle, was horrid. We were stuck way in the back where our view was of walls next door, not of Puget Sound. Very disappointing! In the future, I'll make sure we will be seated at a decent table or we will go to one of the other wonderful seafood places in town."

"I wanted a nice place for my birthday dinner and decided to go for a late lunch at Ray's Cafe instead. The food was great and the service was outstanding. What I liked most was that everyone there seemed very happy to be there! Friends getting together for a birthday or just to catch-up on each others lives. Even on a drizzly day, the view was lovely."

"This was my first time using open table for a reservation at Rays. I worked fine. I was disappointed because I wrote in the comments section that it was a birthday celebration for my boyfriend, Jack. Dessert was part of the dinner special. No mention of the birthday from the staff. I didn't think I'd have to tell the staff do to the comments section information. It was a bit disappointing for me, the one making the reservation and treating for dinner. Guess I should have backed up my comment with a verbal reminder to the wait staff."

"Unfortunately a disappointment. A long Ray's Boathouse fan now living out of state I was let down. The menu for the Cafe looked like it was a pub menu. For a fish restaurant the selection should have had at least fresh Alaska halibut since it is in season. The wines offered are at reasonable prices.

"I am very sorry, but we won't try Rays again. We were there to celebrate a birthday, love fish and chips so three of us ordered that and found our
meals to be very bland. The coleslaw should be crisp and cold, it was warm and limp.
I have no complaint about the service, all well done from the door thru the meal, but the food was not what I expected from a such a well known restaurant."

"I had the small plate Dungeness Crab & Rock Shrimp Cake. It was ok. A bit disappointing on the lack of crab flavor. The filler over took the texture and the crab cake felt very mushy in my mouth. The other items on the plate were very flavorful and were wonderful. But the crab cake not so... I expect more from Ray's, even at the Cafe."

"This was one of the Seattle Restaurant places. The food was delicious! We had a lovely corner table overlooking the Sound. And the service was paced so as not to seem rushed but not to leave you waiting. It was a beautiful evening."

"Wonderful view, even during inclement weather, whether you are dining in the Cafe or Boathouse (Formal Dining Room). The service was impeccable from the time of my arrival. There is complimentary Valet Parking, the Hostesses/Maitre D's were cheerful, and the Servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Every phase of the meal was prompt. The dish I had, which was highly recommended by my server, was the Chatham Strait Sablefish. WOW! It had a buttery texture and literally melted in my mouth. DELICIOUS! I was there for a personal celebration and was not disappointed. Thank you, Ray's."

"Overall, we were disappointed. The oysters were the main reason for going to the Easter buffet, but we were told they had run out when we got there. For a party of four, that's $200 wasted. We planned our easter dinner as a special occasion, but it turned out to be a big waste of money. We regret making reservations at Ray's."

"On Easter Sunday, Ray's Cafe has a seafood brunch. It features shrimp, freshly shucked oysters, crablegs, ham, prime rib, and a number of salads, salami and cheese, and hot breakfast food. The quality of the food was very good for a buffet. The view and location are terrific. We have made it an Easter tradition."

"We went to Ray's on one of the days in Seattle where the weather was unbeatable. Hence there were A LOT of people, and it was quite loud. We were with my 91 year old grandmother, & were treated to a corner-window table at the back of the cafe', where we could have an amazing view of the water. The staff were super friendly. But it was so busy that we waited a little long for our food. No matter - the view was stunning. I had the risotto (being the only vegetarian dish), and it was very good, though a bit greasy. My husband had the fish & chips, which were tasty, and my grandma had salmon. It was undercooked -- "medium rare" apparently means sushi-grade, or it did that night. Almost too loud to have a conversation, but overall awesome evenin"

"Ray's has always been one of my favorite establishments to frequent and I go often. The food and service are consistently excellent! Their lemon drop martini is the best in Seattle! My only disappointment is that they have now removed half of their seating area for dining on the deck! Maybe they are remodeling and plan to replace the tables ... I sure hope so!"

"We loved so many aspects of our experience at Ray's . They paid for our taxi (one way), the staff was friendly and accommodating and the food was quite good. We were extremely please with the Jappy Hour menu. The selection and prices were beyond compare."
