As more South Americans venture north with their cooking traditions and ingredients in hand, North Americans are getting the chance to sample these new foods and flavors. THE PARVA RESTAURANT BAR & LOUNGE has the Nuevo Latino cuisine as one example of the global gastronomic exchange that happens today, a fusion of traditional Latin flavors with global food trends. The rest of the world has become interested in the cuisines of South America, and new combinations will emerge. But the time-honored culinary traditions of Latin America remain intact. If you have not explored them already, new or old, don't miss out. You will fall in love with South American food. Our Chef now showcase Andean products such as alpaca meat, grains like quinoa and kiwicha, and unusual tubers such as yuca and maca in sophisticated new ways.
"Never been before. Food selection was broad and well presented. Service was great and surprisingly kid-friendly - which all made for a very nice Mother's Day meal. We're definitely going back."

"My wife and I enjoy attending the theater at Round House in Bethesda, MD and when ever we make the drive around the Beltway from Vienna, VA we will make time for a relaxing lunch at The Parva. We split several small plates, but somehow always end up with too much food! This visit was no exception: beef empanadas (must order), camarones al ajillo (shrimp in amazing cream sauce), ajiaco soup (good), and bistec a caballo (best chimichurri sauce)...we washed it all down with two of their fruit pulp mojitos. All we needed was a siesta afterward! The Parva has to be tasted to be appreciated...Latin fusion at its best! We will be back. I marked it as "quiet" for lunch, but I would guess that The Parva is "energetic" at night. :)"

"We picked this place because we had a Dining Dough certificate. I probably would not have known about this place otherwise. I'm so glad we tried it! We loved everything about it: the ambience, service and food. And the best mojitos I've had in a long time! It was also refreshing to find a great mix of Latin American food (Cuban, Colombian, Mexican and Peruvia). We would highly recommend this place."

"I do not have a lot of experience with Latin foods, but everything we had was very good. They offered a mix of different country cuisine. The waitress was excellent and very attentive. The owner stopped by and checked on us, so I give the staff very high marks."

"Wait staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful - knew the menu and could describe the dishes; bus boy, waitress and maitre d' were all attentive and warm. The place has a very nice cafe feel. It does feel more like a cafe than a restaurant - don't be expecting linen table cloth here. Food was fine, but I'd go back for the relaxed quiet atmosphere more than the food."

"This was just like neighborhood restaurants we visited in Buenos Aires. Friendly, clean, good service, good beer, good food, not terribly expensive. Food was tasty though preparation was a little uneven; steak grilled perfectly but pork was overdone. Still, satisfying food in good quantities in a friendly environment - we'll go back for sure."

"Everything as promised by the reviews of others. The crispy shrimp was a great start - 4 jumbos coated with quinoa and a dipping sauce, a variety of fruity monitors at a great price, and a sweet waitress got us off to a great start. The Columbian steak hit the spot with its buffet style platter of accompanying tasty elements, while my wife had a rare 10 oz Argentinian steak. It was too much to finish, but no matter. We took the rest home. Desserts were the flour less chic. Cake and mango mousse, both memorably good. We loved it! I have not had South American (as opposed to Mexican) food elsewhere in Bethesda. The Parvati is a great addition."

"Dining here recently, my wife and I really enjoyed the food and appreciated the thoughtful friendly service. If you enjoy fusion restaurants, this place is worth a try. Based on traditional South American fused with concepts from other cuisines, the chef has introduced some new flavors to the Bethesda restaurant scene. The Caserite del Mar had good flavor, and was not too heavy even though it is based in a creamy sauce. My wife had the Pealla de Mariscos and really enjoyed it. There is also a lounge and bar upstairs, which I think would be a great spot to rent out for a large group. Since we were there early, the scene hadn't yet picked up, but we'll stop by another day when we're out later in the evening."
