"the room was a little too noisy to talk comfortably, but it was just the enthusiasm of the diners -- no loud music.
The service was excellent, really excellent. Everyone greeted us with sincere warmth and genuine smiles and were helpful but non-intrusive. I would like to hire all of them myself."

"we had a great evening. Only things were that our waiter, who was otherwise lovely, took a really long time to come back to us and take our orders. we had not ordered drinks and so by the time we got them, it was just a bit late. Everything else came at a nice pace though.

"This is truly a "neighbourhood gem," known and loved for years as utterly reliable for excellent starters, entrees, and desserts. The dessert list is extraordinarily long and lovely--over 30 items--and 15 years of patronage tells me that they are all excellent. But the bistro frites, panini, risotto, and meat dishes are also delectable and the wine list is good. Year in, year out, Trafalgars delivers: Obviously, it's managed extremely well to produce this level of consistent excellence."

"It was very busy when we arrived, almost every table full, and the noise level was high due to active conversation. We had Sunday brunch. The waiter was attentive and cannot be faulted, but we had to wait quite some time for our food, probably because it was so busy. My wife pronounced the Hollandaise sauce excellent. The poached eggs in both our brunches were a little firmer than expected, my yolks no longer at all runny, though I had asked for firm (meaning the whites), this may have been my misunderstanding. The bacon was delicious. I think overall four stars is fair. Worth visiting again!"

"We were looking for a romantic, quiet place with good food and an unhurried atmosphere. We got that in spades. A missed ferry delayed our arrival. A quick call to the restaurant reassured us that they would wait for us, and they did cheerfully. The owner was jovial and welcoming, the wait staff too. The food was great, especially that great French bistro classic, moules et frites. I've had a lot of mussels in my life, from Normandy to Gaspe, these were amazing in a lovely garlicky sauce. The mussels were accompanied by garlic frites and aoli. Yum! The tuna carpaccio was the perfect starter, a lovely explosion of flavour to get the tastebuds going. The desserts were heavenly. The wine list is not long, but contains real gems from BC."

"We were a group of six, all visiting Trafalgars for the first time. It was dine out Vancouver, and I believe everyone opted to select from their $38 prix-fixe dine out menu.
A couple bottles of wine were ordered, and ultimately discounted quite nicely as part of the Dine Out promotion. I tried the tenderloin and beet salad. Very substantial, perfectly cooked, and just overall delicious. Everyone was very happy with their meals; lamb, fish, mussles, and the desserts were incredible.
Great prices, great service, great food, outstanding value. Give them a try."
