Onyx - Four Seasons Westlake Village
A variety of sushi, sashimi and specialty hand rolls complement Chef Masa Shimakawa's delectable Asian-influenced seafood creations. The menu offers many options to sample a variety of dishes, intended to be shared at the table. Also pairing well with modern Asian cuisine is an extensive wine list featuring choices from California and around the world, as well as a selection of Japanese sake and beer.
Now through June 25, 2013, stop by ONYX every Tuesday from 5:30 to 9:30 pm and enjoy Chef Masa's signature albacore tuna tacos for just 3 for $5. Additionally, our popular Sushi on the Rocks happy hour specials will be available all night, with select sake, beer and sushi such as the Crunchy Shrimp and Jalapeno roll from $5.

"The food was good at Onyx, but the prices are very high....which is what you would expect from a restaurant in the Four Seasons. I am sure you can find sushi that is just as good in a more reasonable priced place."

"Onyx is wonderful! Although all the dishes we ordered were delicious, we especially enjoyed the seaweed salad, the "surf and turf" daily special and banana fritters for dessert. Chef Masa is very talented and this restaurant is one of the top restaurants in the area."

"Went on a Thursday, relatively few diners. Noise level delightfully soft. Table for 2 near the window. Able to watch the waterfall. Food superb. At first courses were a little rushed, but when I mentioned this to the server, he slowed it down to an appropriate pace. Not inexpensive, but worth it.If it were less expensive, would come back frequently, but then it would lose it's ambiance. Highly recommend for a special or romantic experience."

"We had the five course prix fixe dinner (we had a special discount coupon) and it was a real treat. We enjoyed every course - all delicious and cooked to perfection. We would recommend to anyone who has an expense account or for a special occasion - you won't be disappointed. However, it is expensive (regular price was $215 for two people - includes 5 courses and a bottle of sake but no tax or tip) so it is out of our price range for a regular spot."

"We went on a travel zoo special . Our server was really nice but we were missing a set up and it took a while to get it. We were brought another tables food, maybe it was an off night. We had several courses, some were just average and some were very good. I was surprised by how crowded the place was for a Tuesday night.
It was a good experience but if I'm going to pay that much for dinner ( over $200 value) for a bottle of sake and 5 course meal, there are other places I prefer. The portions were small to average.
The sushi and the beef dish were very good;other dishes, not so great and served room temperature to warm instead of hot.
I didn't care for the lemon sorbet with basil. If I return, I will stick to sushi."

"This was our second consecutive Valentine's day that we have gone to Onxy, we love the menu and the wait staff is very attentive; even after we received our entree, our server still check in to make sure we had everything or remove empty dishes. "My wife and I went there for the Travel Zoo special, for the 4th or 5th time, we do it every time they offer it. It's a 5 course meal that's always great. All of Chef Masa's dishes are delicious but if they offer the sweet and sour lobster (as a special), don't miss it! "The food was wonderful. We both had the sea bass and it was perfectly cooked with wonderful vegetables.
The music that was playing over the sound system was as bad as the food was good. Outdated acoustic guitar and American Woman do not go with an up-scale dining experience. I called the manager over and we asked him to change the music. All he said was that they were trying for something more "upbeat."
They need to try again."
