"Chain restaurant with a decent, but unremarkable menu. Our selections were only satisfactory: the grilled salmon was over-cooked and dry; the relish accompaniment was tasty, but tough to chew; the salad was over-dressed (even though we asked for the dressing to be on-the-side). Both the kitchen and waitstaff timing was very slow, even though it was early in the evening and the restaurant was half-full. The waiter neither checked the salad to see if it was correctly dressed, nor did he apologize for the error. We chose this restaurant because it was conveniently located to the theater next door, but we will go elsewhere next time."

"Sunday night's service was simply unacceptable. The waiter did not know the menu. He also took 18 minutes from the time we were seated to take our order. I asked him to bring some bread immediately, since we'd waited so long already, and five minutes later asked the bus boy, who produced the bread at once, only to be followed some minutes later by the waiter who had finally brought some as well. He delivered my onion soup sitting in a puddle of broth on its plate and four minutes later returned with my wife's soup. We were surprised that our salads arrived together. My prime rib came minus au jus and my dessert, a sundae, must have sat for ten minutes, because it was half melted. He served it without a plate under it, haphazardly."

"Portions were quite large, especially given the included soup and salad.
The menu was extensive allowing everyone in our party of six to try something different - steak, seafood, BBQ, burgers. Everything was good, not great.
Service was also a little slow but it was Mother's Day. We waited ten minutes from being seated to seeing someone take a drink order."

"Liked the food, the service was great. Menu had nice variation, but not so much that one knows they can't do it all! The French Onion soup had a very good broth, not salty - which is so rare! Had the salad with the salmon - large piece of salmon, was pleasantly surprised! 3 of us, and everyone liked what they had (London broil, a chicken dish, and my salad with salmon)."

"It's located next to a theatre and the ambiance feels like an "early bird" special, mostly seniors, not what we were looking for in a steakhouse. Steak, pork chops & liver excellent. On 2 occasions all the sides needed to be sent back twice, they were room temperature at best, sides were mashed potatoes & wild rice.
Chicken tortellini soup was mushy, not a tortellini in the bowl and the ahi tuna looked and tasted artificial and it was ice cold (vs advertised "seared"), returned it.
Prices are very reasonable, but as they say you get what you pay for."

"We have dined at the Jameson's Charhouse at The Glen in Glenview many times. We happened to be at the Old Orchard Mall and decided to dine at the Skokie location. This turned out to be a big mistake. We would have expected the different locations to be essentially the same, but that is not the case. Perhaps it is because this location is connected to a hotel, but the entire experience was inferior to the Glenview location. First, the server was slow and confused. There is no steak on the kids menu - told to order a fillet instead. The pork chops that are juicy and delicious at Glenview was dried out here. If I had eaten at this location first I would never have gone to another Jameson's."

"Jameson's is a pretty decent steakhouse for the money. It's refreshing not to have everything a la carte; here, dinner includes soup, salad, vegetable and potato. Bread is good, comes warm. I had a prime rib special which provided a generous cut done as I liked it; not super-flavorful, but tender. My husband liked his rich crab-crusted fish special. Our server knew nothing about wine (she acknowledged that she doesn't drink) and seemed flummoxed when we told her one of our by-the-glass choices had oxidized and could they open a new bottle. But she was eager to please and things worked out. I am certain, though, that the decaf cappuccino I ordered was NOT decaf, as I couldn't sleep for hours."

"I usually go to the Jameson's in Glenview but I couldn't get a reservation there so I went to this one instead. Was 10 minutes from the time I sat down until a waiter asked me what I wanted to drink. Voices echoed so it was pretty loud inside the restaurant. The food was just okay. For some reason the food tastes a lot better at the Jameson's at the Glenview location. Will not go back to that location again. Will only go to the Glenview location."

"Have had great experiences at Jameson's in Glenview, so decided to give the Skokie location a try before an evening at the theatre next door. Ordered a ribeye rare, and received a piece of meat thinner than a skirt steak cooked to well done (hard not to overcook it due to the thickness). Sent it back, asking for a more proper cut of ribeye cooked rare, and got back a piece of meat slightly thicker, but now barely seared on the outside.. I like my meat rare, but this was not edible. Wanted to send it back, but the server took so long to return that it was simply too late to try again. To their credit, the manager did visit the table, apologize, and offered desert, etc at the end. We'll return to Glenview, but not Skokie."

"We had exceptional service! Our waiter, Jimmy, was called in from Jameson's in the Glen & he was awesome! I was upset that there was no Oyster's Rockefeller....We've been to the one in Mt. Prospect & I've always loved them...We got to Skokie & wasn't on the menu! It's been awhile since we've been able to go out for a nice dinner & that's the one thing I was looking forward to....All in all the food was very good & we got a dessert with a candle for our birthdays."

"If you value quantity over quality you'll like big portions (only small serving of warm bread). Sent starchy soup back to be reheated. Mashed sweet potaoes were thin and too sweet. Salad was wilted. I was with a party of 9. We were seated in a small back room. It was quiet, but worn looking. A couple of gnats were flying around, too. The rest of the restaurant looks nicer. The menu is large, but there are no options for vegetariansSpecial of the evening was prime rib. 2 people ordered it med-rare and were served well-done. When one diner sent it back, they were asked to chose a different entree as only well-done was available. This was at 5:30."

"table ready within 5 minutes of my reservation every time. everything I have eaten there has been great. servers nice and informed. comfortable and well lit, which is important to me.very accommodating for those going to the north shore theatre after dinner. parking very convenient for restaurant and theatre."

"Very convenient for staying at the Doubletree in same building and attending a show next door at the North Shore Center. That's the only reason we ate here. Food and drink was good, but alcohol was severly overpriced. $13 for a Macallan 12 year old is about 5 bucks too much. $7 for a Stella is also $2 too high, and $6.50 for a Guinness also about $2 too high. Steaks we had were outstanding. Soup and salad very good, our server Lauren was a delight. I was surprised the Doubletree didn't offer a free breakfast here, even continental."

"We go here because it's next door to a concert venue. The starters are huge. Normal eaters might share. I think someone had a "salt" accident with my prime rib. I cannot believe anyone would deliberately put that much salt on it. I could not have the temperature I wanted because it was precooked. I wanted rare, but got medium with TONS of fat. I took it home for my dogs, since I was charged for it.
I submitted my American Express card for payment (I have mucho credit after 25+ years) and the waitress told me it was declined. Funny, she was only gone a very brief moment. I called American Express and they said no one even swiped my card; they did not decline any charges. I think this restaurant plays games to avoid Amex cards."

"Service of waiter was good. It took to long for the food to be served. We chose Jameson's because it was nest to the North Shore Center. Your staff should know the concert start times and/or ask if patrons are going to a concert next door in order to insure that they can eat and make the concert start time. Also, my date received a plate of Greek style fish and it iwas not fully cooked. It ruined the total dining experience."

"The service is always wonderful. From the hostess to the waitress everyone is very attentive to our needs. We had the cream of broccoli soup which was very tasty. We shared the rubin because it's so large and apple cobbler. All were satisfying. We usually have the halibut which is really ourtstanding we just kept it simple Saturday."

"We like the look of the restaurant , the service was very good, attentive server. But the mushroom soup which was one of the specials fr the evening was watered down with little taste. The entre was almost too salty to eat. The 'fresh tomato sauce tasted lie canned tomatoes with too much salt."

"Good but not exceptional food and service. Nice surroundings and a perfect place to linger after dinner and talk with friends. We were there on a Sunday night at by 7:30 when we were finishing the restaurant was half empty. We stayed at talked for over an hour."
