STK - Atlanta
STK artfully blends two concepts into one—the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge. A large central lounge area is furnished with creamy leather banquettes and textured crocodile tiles, and is surrounded by an elevated dining room for more formal dining. Theatrical lights illuminate each table, while a DJ creates an energetic vibe throughout the entire space. STK Atlanta is located at 1075 Peachtree Street in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. Executive Chef Jeremy Miller mans the kitchen of the two-story restaurant situated adjacent to the Loews Hotel. As anticipated, steak is the main attraction. With a female-friendly mindset, STK offers small, medium and large cuts of meat, as well as naturally raised options and market fresh fish entrees. Aside from steak, signature items include Parmesan Truffle Fries; Lil’ BRGs; Shrimp Rice Krispies; Sweet Corn Pudding; and Jump Lump Crab Salad.

"Good food, pretty good service, trendy decor but a rather loud live DJ thus prohibitive for a quiet conversation. Good thing we were sitting on top of each other, I mean NEXT to each other, in one of their tiny booths despite the fact that it was Thursday and monsooning outside so the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived and subsequent parties of 2 were seated in the more spacious booths. 5'10 me was _not_ amused. Could they have turned the speakers down a notch? Sure. Did they? Of course not! It's the Midtown way, I suppose...
Steak tartare was delish, as was the bone-in filet.
Dinner for 2, including 1 appetizer, 2 steaks and 2 a la carte sides along with 2 glasses of wine and a bottle of Voss was ~$200."

"I must start by discussing the Music. It was a poor music selection and too loud. Overall, the food was good. I had the trout at a steak restaurant. I tasted the steak, thought, and it was very good! I plan to dine at STK again. Hopefully, they will get the music straightened out!"

"I've passed this place a million times and finally went with one of my girlfriends. I must say that ambiance is great. Perfect music but not too loud to where we couldn't enjoy our convo and dinner. I will definitely come back for another visit. It was great service and I really enjoyed my dinner. It seems like it would be a good happy hour spot as well."

"I had a reservation for 6 to celebrate my birthday with friends. They gave us a very lovely table that was comfortable for everyone. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and they brought me a complimentary birthday desert on a beautifully decorated plate. The food was good, I thoroughly enjoyed the sides and the specialty cocktails"

"STK isn't really a place you to go for a great steak. It is more a night club that serves steak. Great place for a night out with friends and a hot spot for the who's who of Atlanta. As a dining experience, I was disappointed. Pricey. Slow service. And while it is a small detail, what restaurant in the south doesnt service tea (not sweet or unsweet). and... no de-caf coffee. Will go back, but not for fine dining."

"Another Atlanta restaurant with the wrong attitude. At 7:30 pm, it isn't a night club, it's a restaurant, so treat your 'guests' accordingly. The behavior toward my party of 5 at the hostess stand was atrocious and set the tone for our evening. We did not see a velvet rope outside, we came to explore STK's menu and enjoy each other's company. And, for the prices, one would expect the food to be phenomenal, creative, memorable. Alas, it was none of these things. Living in Midtown, there are just too many other places where the service, food and atmosphere provide a wonderful dining experience (Abattoir, Miller Union, Bacchanalia, Barcelona, Campagnolo, etc.). We won't be returning to STK. Too bad, it's only 2 blocks away."

"The service was TERRIBLE! The waiter was annoyingly slow, and ha a hard time remembering our requests. I originally ordered the lobster, which the restaurant was out of, and settled for a Salmon dish that pretty plain. I won't return due to a TERRIBLE experience during what was planned as a "romantic night" out with my wife."

My wife ordered the filet with chimichurri sauce and Parmesan truffle fries. I ordered the skirt steak with a red wine sauce.
The steaks were fresh and cooked perfectly, but there were no condiments on either one so the lack of flavor was a let down. The sauces were a necessity to add taste to the food, though the chimichurri was not very good.
The fries were also a disappointment - they were just barely sprinkled with Parmesan and the truffle oil could not be tasted so they were just simply bland potato wedges. STK fails as a steak house and it does not compare to others in the area."

"I had dinner at STK on May 4th and it was nice. The restaurant is really modern and chic. The music gets louder as it gets later and it is hard to have a conversation. The food was really good. I ordered the organic chicken and corn pudding which was excellent. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. The only downfall is that I am pregnant and ordered a virgin mojito and he charged me the same price as the alcoholic version. Overall the restaurant has good food and great ambience."

"I have been before and the food was awesome trip my duck and spinach was very salty, ive had the spinach before and it was great! The flourless chocolate cake is worth a return visit and recommending to others. The service wasnt good, with the price we paid for dinner I expected better last time I was there service was better. "I wanted to visit STK Atlanta because I wanted to see how it compared to STK Las Vegas. I thought things were OK but not the very best. My filet was warm and not piping hot when it got to the table. Then, I had to ask for bernaise sauce twice before getting it-and when it arrived, it looked as if it had been sitting around in the fridge for a while. The Vegas restaurant has a DJ so the scene is more lively there. It wasn't like that at the Atlanta location. Overall, I thought things were good but definitely not the very best they could be."

"Steak (bone in ribey) was outstanding and the perfect temperature. On the high side as far as pricing ($48), but it was seasoned very well. Ao big that i could only eat half which made me feel better about the price. The sides I chose were the asparagus and lobster Mac and cheese. A few pieces of the asparagus were limp but still enjoyable. The lobster Mac and cheese however, was to die for. The blend of cheese was a perfect match to the small and large chunks of lobster. I was impressed with the service and the ambiance! My drink (Gin and tonic with lime juice) was a little over overpriced ($12), but well made as well as strong. Can't wait to go back!"

"STK in Midtown Atlanta is a great restaurant. Bone in Ribeye is the way to go and was prepared perfectly. Definitely a memorable steak. The raw bar platter was also very good as were sides of corn pudding and sautéed mushrooms. Atmosphere is cool and contemporary with a lounge vibe. The restaurant seating layout has a lot of banquette style booths so if you are planning to go out with the guys you might want to request a table instead. DJ starts playing music after 9pm in bar/lounge area and can be heard throughout the restaurant. Had very good service at the bar and during dinner. Would highly recommend you try it out!"

"I absolutely loved STK, I came on a Friday night with a few close friends. I am a heavy fine dining eater from Empire State South to PF Changs. I appreciate the food quality, appearance, taste, décor and also the energetic feel. It felt like it could be the perfect ending or great start to a wonderful night. My waiter was blah I don't remember him much but the appetizing food made up for his lack of personality! I'll definitely return just for the bar atmosphere and a delicious plate!"

"Great ambiance. We had a little quarter circle booth for two and I loved it. Service was good. Good was hit or miss but overall good. Would recommend the tuna tartare and the sliders. The tuna sashimi and parm fries are also good. I was disappointed with the apple and Brussels sprout salad as it was too sour and sweet and needed something to cut it. The cucumber martinis, as delicious as it sounded on paper, was way too sweet. Skip it. Overall I really liked STK and can't wait to good back."

"My overall experience here wasn't bad at all. I had the sea bass which was undercooked in the middle, yuck! The service was good, but I felt rushed the entire time. The drinks were really good-as they should have been for $14 per martini. I will like to go back another time just to see if my experience is any different. The complimentary valet was a nice touch, but the valet lost my key inside the car and took about 5 minutes to find it. That was annoying but wouldn't keep me away. The music was energetic and fun. Will like to go back after 10pm to see how the atmosphere changes."

"My wife and I went to STK for our anniversary. The atmosphere was buzzing, but the noise is deflected in a way that you can still have a conversation and not have to shout.
The food was good not great. I had the medium sized fillet. I have had better steaks from more traditional steak houses, but if your name is STK, I'd expect a better steak. Just OK. My wife had the duck. Just ok as well.
If you go make sure they don't seat you at a little round table that looks like they put it there as an after thought. It is crammed between two booths.
Final thought, overpriced. Spent over $250,but sure didn't feel like it when I left."

"STK was nice but the food wasn't what I thought it would be. My check alone was 72 dollars and the steak wasn't the greatest. I would've preferred Ruth Chris or even Houston's steak over STK's. The environment was really nice, really upscale. I loved everything except the food."

"Food was really good -- expectation was for standard steak and taters fare, but the quality of meats, preparation, and flavorful sides was unexpectedly good.
Service was quite indifferent, though -- salads came at the same time as (actually slightly after) the main course with nary a word of apology, wine went unpaired until we took it upon ourselves, etc.
All in all I would go back and hope for a different server team..."

"Fabulous experience! We celebrated a 30th birthday, and everything was just perfect! I ordered the oysters on a half shell for an appetizer - they were very fresh and decent size - delicious! For my entree, I ordered the 10 oz Filet Mignon medium rare - and it was cooked perfectly - and the quality of meat was superb! STK is a very expensive restaurant - but you do get what you pay for - high quality dining! The food was excellent, the wine list was extensive, the service- fantastic, and the lounge/posh environment created the perfect ambiance for any occasion! I would highly recommend this restaurant!"

"Overall, my dining experience was not what I expected based on the high-end hype.
It was a Monday night and the hostess advised in advance of only two servers on staff.
We ended up flagging down a waiter after an extra long wait to order.
The food also took a long time to come out.
The medium steak was delivered more medium well and the waiter said "just cut it again".
I asked for no scallions on my potato, I received a potato with scallions.
The restaurant replaced the potato but it was room temperature which I consider as cold.
The restaurant offered us complimentary 'bubbles' and 'dessert' for our troubles however, I would have much rather have had my dinner delivered correctly."
